people are so unnecessarily mean about people they knows art and will talk behind their back about how shitty it is, ESPECIALLY if theyre not friends, and its just like, why? people like that are the reason why people dont talk about their passions or think theyre even allowed to do that stuff. all youre doing is creating an environment where people are too self conscious to express themselves and were never going to get "good" art thats not just made by pretentious assholes who think they're better than everyone else

#like its so hard to create when you KNOW that anyone you show will just be a dick even if its behind your back #even if what youre making is shitty it literally doesnt matter #i refuse to think bad thoughts about anyones art or at the very least i try #and if i have mean thoughts they get tamped down bc it doesnt actually matter what i think!!!!#im worried i seem unsupportive to people but im just genuinely bad at giving compliments but im fucking working on it!#just #support people #especially your friends #it doesn't matter if you think their poetry is stupid they are literally your friends #and how else can they improve if they become too scared of criticism to do anything!!!!!#just dont be a dick #you are not a person who is there purposefully just to show them how to improve #you are their FRIEND
