OH I REMEMBERED THAT I WAS GOING TO TALK TO YOU ABOUT BUTCH FEMME JFJSJSKKS
actually I don't even disagree with you that much, just about the part that butch femme is the same as gender bs. I think it's like. butch femme at the end of the day are just identities like. it is in fact just about how you feel and like. people identifying with butch femme doesn't really do much to the world unlike how people identifying with man and woman is about changing and watering the definitions of words that are like super important to women's and gay rights and just like... health care. I'm bad with this but I hope you get what I mean kkk. like it barely affects anyone if butch/femme is about how you feel but sure does when woman/man is about how you feel...
also butch femme is like... lesbian history, too, and I think it's cool that you guys have something like that from the past even though I see it is a trend that people... are too much into this?? smth. I think butch/femme on its own could exist as a really cool thing if it wasn't deranged by gender ideology...
so yeah lmao imo butch femme might be annoying but it's not like. anti-feminist or smth
AHSJDBEJ its okay i did wonder if u wld ever come back and tell me lolol
i do agree w you that any qualms with butch/femme isnt such a pressing issue as trans ideology is, i hope it didnt come across as me thinking theyre the same </3 trans ideology does have consequences politically/legally for womens rights and gay rights, its now far past the realm of just 'genderfeels are nonsense', whereas the butch/femme stuff i brought up is more. how shld i put it... more personal, to do with how we percieve ourselves and label ourselves and the impact/implications it has for u and the women around u. i do think its important tho, just not a pressing issue, more on the side of being a personal reservation w/ using these terms
but i do wonder what other ppl here think abt it, and its nice to hear the opinions of those who do use it. like mm whoever it was who reblogged from me and mentioned why she feels femme as opposed to her gf being butch
also i def agree w/ you about it being lesbian history, and i dont mean to say in any way that we should look back on its use as 'bad' or 'useless', ig i feel more that it served a purpose for a time, but just in the current times for those of us in places where gay rights have progressed enough, particularly america/uk, using them is more regressive than anything
this in itself varies from country to country probably, so u have to decide for urself in that sense . idk englands lesbian history at all, or russias, but its easier for me to say 'we r past the need for these roles' when gay marriage is legalised and theres perhaps less incentive then to try to fit into an acceptable set of roles
