Fic idea before I forget:

Kakashi has been getting nightmares every night since his father died but after Obito's death, it has been weirder and weirder.

At first he saw black. Endless black. Then after a month, it was an old man attached to a tree. A few days after that, it was a white creature with a swirling face. Then a ratty blanket. Then--

And then--

It was half of his body missing. No, that's not right. It was wrapped or replaced. By the same substance those white creatures are.

Kakashi thought the trauma from Obito's death was giving him vivid concurrent nightmares until his genius brain finally caught up and figured no, it must be something else.

Kakashi leaves Konoha and tries desperately to answer the mystery of Obito's whereabouts.
