do any of you have scents/smells that immediately make you think of a childhood memory? mine is green peppers—I hate eating them but the smell viscerally triggers a specific memory of my grandma’s kitchen during a Thanksgiving visit and bitty me coming down the stairs at 5am because I can’t sleep and just sitting and talking with her while she drinks her coffee and gets ready for the morning. it’s been years by now and she’s been gone for at least five but that memory is clear as crystal.
