i adore this scene dearly they are so doomed
#talk#smth smth whenever i get to this arc i just enjoy how their characters have changed from when they were little to know WHILE still#maintaining their core traits and fears. like sapphire is a lot more comfortable expressing herself as of ruby#accepting his whole deals with battles and having a more straightforward way of thinking#HOWEVER. their core flaws are also just as present. well in this case its ruby.#he LITERALLY stretches his hand out for her he's literally doing whatever he thinks is best for sapphire which is by not opening up#and hiding the whole situation from her which is. so bad. he's 15 running under a timer#and of course he wants to protect those he loves and wants to do more! but in turn.#he loses her trust. outright kind of confirming what she rlly hates the most. leaving her behind. leaving her out of ideas.#sapphire has a whole plethora of issues as well they're just not as focused on. she literally loses her voice. cause she feels like she's#not trusted to be competent in this situation. whether or not she knows that ruby does it out of genuine care is a bit out there.#and being perceived as weak and not enough rlly. drives home again. that damned salamence incident. guh.#ok thats all i have in the brain#im such a big fan of these two and their cycle of doom until they both get like. three layers of therapy.#coughs blood pokespe oras arc you are awfully rushed but u do have some rlly neat points

ok im gonna turn into a bojack horseman blog real quick because the last few episodes came out and I have Thoughts
this is kinda rambly but whatevs, you gotta get the infodump out
-it’s … a LOT harder for me to empathise with BoJack after the real Sarah Lynn story came out. I sort of assumed that his guilt over it was just because he took her on the bender (and was also a dick when she was a child) but the revelation that he waited 17 minutes to do anything, when he could have saved her, is just ... bad. especially since it was never mentioned before now which makes it seem like a retcon
-also, people are gonna try to argue with the above point by saying he was also drunk/high at the time, but I don’t think he was? I know they were on a bender together but we dont know how drunk/high he was as of the hotel/planetarium scene. im underage and ive never drunk alcohol or taken a drug stronger than ibuprofen so i might be wrong here, but I feel like someone whos sober enough to plan out how to avoid getting in trouble for that (right down to the detail of calling himself on her phone) is sober enough to not wait 17 fucking minutes to get someone medical attention
-Im lowkey upset about the lack of closure with hollyhock? we never even find out for sure if Pete told her that it was BoJack who gave maddy alcohol poisoning, theres a few comments that imply she does but her complaints about him not giving her space are perfectly valid by themselves and she doesn't really seem to be angry until after the interview comes out so who knows
-personally, based on how Pete hesitates at the end of A Quick One, While He’s Away, I feel like he doesn’t tell her, probably because he sees how much they look alike and guesses she might be related to him, BUT shes very suspicious that its him because lets face it that's exactly the sort of thing he would do, which is why she wants to keep her distance in the next episode
-I have mixed feelings on her letter never being shown? on one hand it feels kinda cheap that we never see it even though its arguably the main turning point that pushes him over the edge, but on the other hand I think its best this way because theres nothing she could write that wouldn't feel underwhelming after all the build up. sort of like how I lowkey hoped for a reveal of what Erica looks like, but I also knew that nothing they could animate would really be able to match all the jokes
-also, random weird theory: when he calls hollyhock after reading the letter, it says the line is disconnected. except it sounds like hollyhock saying that? and her voicemail message up until then is “leave a message … if you’re a hundred”, so it’s pretty clear that she doesn't get voicemails often, and its not a stretch to assume bojack is the only person who would call her (her friends and dads would probably text). conclusion: her line isn’t disconnected, she just changed her voicemail to get him to stop trying to call her
-the fact that Judah's band is called “SPECTRUM of enchantment” confirms he is autistic and no I do not take constructive critisicm
-I fucking loved the reprise of Don’t Stop Dancing, which is my fave song from the series by far, but I wish it was longer and reprised all the verses from gina’s version.
-it was kinda weird that butterscotch was secretariat? they managed to pull it off pretty well but still, its weird how its never explained. I guess its because neither of them were developed as much as the other characters so having them both would have meant having two characters with only a few lines, but both were needed for the plot (butterscotch for the revelation that he maybe did care about bojack and Beatrice, secretariat for the poem)
-honestly I LOVED The View From Halfway Down. both the poem and the episode as a whole
-also. my finale predictions were basically this: it wont end with bojacks suicide, because weve spent 6 seasons following this guy and if he dies itll all be for nothing, but theres way too much drowning symbolism for it to not pay off in some way. so my best guess was a failed suicide attempt by drowning. so yay i was right!
-anyone else seeing symbolism with Hollywoob? like yeah, its a nice conclusion to both the Hollywoo gag and the recurring gag of mr peanutbutters shitty sign company, but the original reason the D was stolen was for Diane, back when Diane/Mr PB/BoJack was an actual love triangle. and I feel like the fact that it got replaced represents her choosing neither of them, but the fact that it’s a B instead of a D represents that shes changed a lot since then?
-alternatively: looking at it from mr peanutbutters perspective, the D was for Diane, back when they were married. the years of Hollywoo represented their shitty marriage and divorce (we know diane hates big gestures, so their relationship was doomed starting from when the D was stolen). and the B is for BoJack, since mr PB is one of the only characters who hasn’t at least implied that he wants to keep his distance from bojack
-im so glad we get to actually see how the voicemail affected diane. as well as address the fact that, intentionally or not, hes been making it her job to “save” him and that's not fair to her
-honestly im a big fan of the theory that BJ does die and episode 16 isn't real. I know its less of a theory and more of a fandom retcon because the ending came across as rushed and too open-ended (because honestly it kinda did), but the fact that the first shot is the last shot makes the theory feel really fitting
-my take on that theory is that the last 2 episodes are bojack’s hell? sort of like a Good Place-esque hell where you’re trapped in an infinite cycle of things being awful, but just not bad enough for you to realise you’re in hell. my guess is that first he goes through the hell of the dinner party (which he mentions is a recurring dream), but eventually he gets used to it so he moves on to the showcase, after which he ends up in a never-ending cycle of “waking up”, going to prison, going to the wedding, talking to diane, and starting over
-especially since when diane is persuading him to tell the truth about sarah lynn, one of the points she makes is that if he stops lying, he won’t have to constantly feel like he’s waiting for the other shoe to drop. so now hes stuck eternally being scared of what will happen once hes out of prison, which will never happen because it resets on the roof. he’s made his bed, now it’s time for him to lie in it. forever.

part one of important updates comin' at ya !! part two will be linked HERE (once i sleep first) which will cover desired plots for each of my muses, including the NEW ones that i'll be introducing in this post. i'll also be discussing some changes coming up to my thread tracker, so make sure to head over there if you're interested in reading about that !! first of all, as much as it pains my starlight heart to do so, yoo minjun's fc has changed from han sanghyuk to kim dongyoung due to a higher count of resources !! secondly, i recently added a number of new muses that i thought it would be cute to give a formal introduction to !! shoutout to @roseistal for inspiring this post :-) information for all of my new muses will be listed under the cut, so keep reading if you're interested in knowing more about them and give this post a like if you'd like a starter from any of them (specify muse or i'll shoot a random one your way) !! since i recently added him before this lil' round of muses but never gave an official introduction, i'll also be including jeon jinki (warning: involves triggering content such as murder) in this post.
BAE 'SUNNY' SEUNGHEE ––– (portrayed by AHN HEEYEON) since lee kyungri just resigned as governor oh hongbin’s secretary for personal reasons, seunghee left her niche as an entry level fashion designer for an obscure boutique in new york to go fill her shoes !! reunited with her favorite sorority sister (lee kyungri, btw) from college, sunny still hasn’t shaken off her capricious attitude from college. she originally attended dartmouth to study business administration, but got bored and transferred to fashion institute of technology in new york where she coasted through her studies while having a string of sugar daddies on the side. her achievement of a bachelor’s degree in fashion marketing proves her intellect, no matter how much she masks it under flirty remarks and dim-witted behavior.
BOK 'JOJO' KEUMJO ––– (portrayed by KIM YERIM) after pushing herself relentlessly for seven years under loen entertainment, keumjo felt there was no hope for her to debut in a girl group. she fumbled just a little too much during choreography and vocal cords strained to reach the required pitches. disheartened, she sells her soul to the devil whom equipped her with the skills to succeed in exchange for her soul. now that she’s finally caught her big break, keumjo’s disillusioned to find herself excluded by her fellow members, envious of her newly obtained talent. her popularity soars to unattainable heights, attracting a large (& dangerous) fanbase. soon, she finds herself with an obsessed fan, one who’s been stalking her endlessly. now, she lives in paranoia, unable to bargain for her stalker’s disappearance with no soul left to offer for payment. also call her by her stage name ‘jojo’,’ and she will break your neck js....
IM DAEHWI ––– (portrayed by LEE MINHYUK) daehwi was born off the coast of australia – quite literally, emerging from foamy waters in the barrier reef. instead of legs, he had a tail though he longed for the former. his parents grew disapproving of his frequent visits above the surface, afraid that the merboy would be captured by humans in his carelessness. a fight ensued, and soon he found himself exiled from his family. with nowhere to go, he bargains with a sea witch to become human. in exchange for his eternal devotion to her, daehwi’s supplied with several bottles of a potion that transforms him into a human for a day. however, once the dose expires, he’s required to swim back down to her lair and remind her that he won’t fall in love with a human, remaining loyal to her. by day, he lives with an adoptive human family and attends a local sports university where he’s majoring in swimming (surprise, surprise) and the best on the team. his talent attracts plenty of female attraction which he wish he didn’t have to turn down, only permitting friendly gestures and perhaps even a bit more...
JEON JINKI ––– (portrayed by KIM TAEHYUNG) loosely inspired by crime and punishment with a supernatural twist, jinki previously served as one of god’s favorite angels. he worshiped the lord so fervently that it drove him to bloodlust, determined to wipe the earth clean of the sinners too impure to grace god’s earth. according to his mentality, angels had been bestowed with such gifts for the purpose of maintaining the purity of god’s earth, even if it mean sacrificing human lives in the process. consequently, he was banished from heaven, doomed to endure the rest of his existence as a fallen angel. in attempt to repent, he poses as an orphan to be adopted by the jeon family. with mr. jeon as an esteemed member of the police station, he figures the influence might bring him back to salvation. however, the easy access to criminals provided from his adoptive father’s work proves too tempting. to resist the urge, jinki transfers to the forensics department so he won’t be in direct interaction with criminals. instead, it only heightens his drive to kill by performing crimes that don't leave a trace of evidence from the methods he learns in forensics. now he's in a constant moral crisis between what god told him and what he believes is justice.
JEON SORA ––– (portrayed by KIM CHUNGHA) adoptive sister to jinki, she’s fairly resentful towards her parents for taking in the boy when they can barely afford to take care of their birth daughter. ever since she was little, she displayed incredible flexibility and strength. while she gravitated towards soccer and basketball, her mother discouraged her from engaging in such "masculine" activities, instead enrolling her in gymnastics. ever since, sora has excelled in the sport and nearly made the national sports team until experiencing a panic attack before her routine. ever since, she's bouted with stress, only added on by the fact that her parent's finances are running low from investing into her gymnastics career. she's also oblivious to the fact that her adopted brother, jeon jinki, is a fallen angel/part time serial killer.
NOH HANSOL ––– (portrayed by LEE TAEYONG) growing up with a set of drug-abusing parents, hansol grew to prioritize physical health. he would excel at sports during school and often run laps around the neighborhood to avoid going home. his twin brother, on the other hand, fell into the same cycle as their parents. people would often mistake hansol for his twin, associating him with the same poor reptuation his brother had as a chronic substance user like their parents. consequently, he grew up around a lot of stigma yet never sought out any child protective services because he didn't want to be thrust into the foster care system. instead, he worked various dead-end jobs to save up and move into his own apartment that he shares with a bunch of roommates. he obtained his degree at a community college to become a fitness trainer and has no emotional capacity for anything or anyone besides the bellbars.
SONG JIYEON ––– (portrayed by PARK CHAEYOUNG) her early childhood consisted of spring days in her mother's garden and father's arms. they were simply content to have a beautiful, healthy daughter at last after several miscarraiges. once the girl grew older, they decided to have a night to themselves and left her with her grandparents. however, they never arrived, blindsided by a moving truck en route back to see their daughter. since then, jiyeon has been selectively mute, only talking when absolutely necessary. she was homeschooled by her grandmother and devotes most of her time to taking care of her grandparents. she had no desire to leave the comfort of their countryside home and the local florist shop they run. jiyeon communicates through writing on the spare sheets of paper used for writing notes to put into the bouquets customers order.
