fuck man i used to be soooo anti audiobook but holy shit sometimes the audiobook is in fact better. its reallly touch and go sometimes but occasionally the reader just fucking NAILS it and i cant think of the story without thinking about the narration
#howling#listenerposting#im getting REALLY picky about audiobook readers#ESPECIALLY with books within the same series.#if the reader changes or if the original reader changes the voices/inflection/pronunciation too much i cant stick with it#but sometimes its just fucking PERFECT#so far i think the best ones ive listened to are catch-22 + tale of despereaux + raven cycle#im still listening thru the raven cycle but holy shiiiiiit#will patton's voice fits it PERFECTLY and he really pulls off all the different characters#its like. im pretty sure he even changes the narration voice slightly depending which characters pov it is#and hes fucking PHENOMENAL at really selling the characters emotions which is something that can REALLY make or break an audiobook#sorry ive always been a really picky book snob so now that ive dipped my toes into audiobooks im now a really picky audiobook snob. lol
