The thing w people saying they disliked Waid's characterization of Wally and Bart’s relationship in the Flash 800 and think it's ooc is like so funny to me because like. That man created Bart and MADE that relationship. I think he knows what it looks like at that point in time

No because Waid wrote Impulse AND was writing the Flash at that point where the mini is set (early Impulse). If you pick up ANY Wally and Bart interaction during that time you'd know he's fucking spot on. Wally can be worried over all the other speedsters (adults) for trying to help him cause they're putting themselves in danger and then call Bart a dumb reckless kid for doing the same thing in the same breath. He had NO faith in that kid and was constantly on his ass for any reason he could find and I honestly doubt Wally liked him half the time. I can confidently say that Bart brought out Wally’s worst self and his most ugly traits and insecurities (which isn't Bart’s fault).
