Ben learned of a maid cafe that had recently opened, and that it had already received positive feedback the first week it was open, with customers stating that the cafe is pleasant, has great food, and the maids themselves are all pretty. So it was only natural for Benny to invite the guys to the intriguing cafe.

The moment they enter, two maids welcomed them, adressing them as ‘masters’. One of the two approached them with a welcoming smile, escorting them to their seats, dismissing themself after giving them the menu.

They paused to take in their surroundings. The walls are painted light pink, while the floor and ceiling are white. Surprisingly, despite the bright colors, the room feels welcoming and pleasant. The cream chairs and tables also help to pull the space together. There's also a showcase of delectable desserts, including a variety of cakes and ice cream flavors. The waitresses themselves are dressed in different pastel colored maid outfits.

After a few moments, you approached them and introduced yourself as their maid. You go on to describe the cafe's set norms as well as the various amusements guests can order, such as a photograph with a maid of their choice. After you'd finished talking, you asked the guys whether they were ready to order, and you took it when they said yes.

“This place is pretty legit, huh. I feel out of place here.” Will states, the others nodding in agreement. As the guys conversed, Frankie eyed you from across the room. The light blue outfit you wore fitting your form to a T. You were chubbier than the rest of the maids, but to Frankie, that just made it better.

"Quit it, you know you're not allowed to make moves on the maids," the others said, snapping him out of his thoughts.

“What? "All I'm doing is staring."

"We all know you're going to flirt with them as soon as they come back."

"I'm not going to, but it wouldn't hurt to look."

"Suure, suure,  oh wait! Isn't there a way to request a photo with them? Why don't you get one?"

"That's a little excessive."

"Oh, come on, it's just a photo, what could possibly go wrong?"

The conversation came to a halt as they notice your figure approaching their table, laying their orders on the table. Every meal was cutely adorned, with sauces drawn in the shape of animals while the drinks sprinkled with edible glitter. “Wait, before you go, we’d like to request a pic with you.”

Frankie glares at Will, perplexed. “Of course, you can! One of each, yes?”

“Nope, only one, with him.” He triumphantly declares, pointing to a flustered Frankie. You smile lightly, informing them that the picture will be taken after payment is made.

“You. Are. Welcome.” Frankie looks at him, puzzled and slightly enraged. “For what? Embarrasing me?”

“Oh please! It’s a good chance to woo them.”

“Did you forget the fact that i’m not allowed to?”

“Forget the rules! They could be the one or something.”

“When did you get all sappy.”

“Relax, Fish. Just take the damn pic, Will’s paying anyway.” Santi suggests. “Wait, what do you mean im paying?!”

"It's only fair; it was your idea, and you're forcing him to carry it out."

Will sighs, “Fine.”

As they ultimately delved into their meal, the topic faded from their minds. Frankie can't help but be nervous. He hasn't dated anyone in a long time, let alone someone like you. Innocent, young and cute, a mere opposite of him.

You visit the four men's table after they've finished their meals, asking how their food tastes and offering them the check while you lay the empty dishes on the tray. You nod gratefully as you accept their pleasant responses and the check, remembering to smile as you depart from their table.

While waiting for their payment to be processed, your gaze is drawn to the man with whom you are about to take a picture. You take note of his features; his cap, which had been off while he ate, had already been reapplied, concealing his dark brown curls. His mustache was neat, yet his scruff was uneven but rather appealing. But there's something about his dark brown eyes that draws you in. His looks appears rugged at first, but if you look into those eyes, you'll notice a gentleness radiating from him.

The ding of the register jolts you out of your reverie, and you compose yourself before returning to their table. "I apologize for the delay; we can take the picture now!"

You motion them to follow you to another room, where they will find a small studio. You explain how this will work to Frankie, "Before we shoot the picture, I'll let you pick out any props or accessories you'd like me or yourself to use. After the photo is taken, I'll personalize the photo for you using stickers and markers. If you let me of course!"

Frankie gives you a quiet nod and a little grin to put you at ease. He walks up to the table, which is laden with props and accessories, and the others follow. "Put these ears on!" Ben made a suggestion.

Ben removed his cap and clipped the dog ears into his hair before Frankie could even refuse, while Santi handed you the cat ears. "Do you want me to put the collar on as well?" "No!" Frankie screamed, eyes wide. " It's all right!" He averted his gaze to hide his blush.

"Is that all for the accessories?" you inquire, slightly adjusting your dress. Frankie nods once again, afraid that if he speaks, his words would betray him.

Nodding, you gesture him to the set, encouraging him to strike a pose. He hesitantly raises one hand to form a paw, smiling as the photographer takes the image, ignoring the guys' laughs. You dash to the photographer to get the photograph and present it to Frankie. "Is it all you'd like it to be?" "It looks all right." “Great! I'll go ahead and decorate it right now; don't worry, I'll be quick!" Before approaching the desk with the decorating supplies, give him a friendly grin.

You attach the light blue and light brown stickers to match both your clothing, as well as draw a few mini cats and dogs to fit the motif, returning your gaze at the men before you place something else on the back of the picture. You quickly dry the photo by fanning it, wrapping it in a protective film then placing it in a small envelope. Last but not least, you sign your name and a 'come back soon!' on the front of the letter.

“Here it is! I'll take you all to the entrance now!" You hand Frankie the envelope and head for the door as he takes it. "Thank you very much for taking the time to come by! We look forward to seeing you again soon!" You smile as you wave at them and watch them fade away. 

He finally arrives at his own house after dropping off his pals at their homes. He took out the letter and opened it, sighing as he sat on his couch, appreciating your gorgeous self as well as your pretty writing and decoration. He was about to put it back in the envelope when he finally noticed the back.

wow, you've been with him for ten years now, and six years from that is being in a relationship with him. you've come a long way now, you've seen his best and worse part and you shared with him your best and worse part too. and i regret nothing at all. it was the best, and if i were given a chance to turn back time id still choose to be with him.

"you know, if you want me you can just say it, love." he said while grinning at me.

his grin faded and turned into a genuine smile. his eyes look more softer now, just like how you love it. he reached for your hand and kissed it.

after that soft moment, both of you continued eating. you remind him that there will be a small celebration in your parent's house this weekend.

he talked about his work and how he's happy seeing kids olaying volleyball, making him remember his junior high. he cracked corny jokes that made you laugh but not because of the joke, its because of his hyena laugh.

you we're cleaning the table while he's washing the dishes, when his phone rang. he put down the dish and answered his phone.

after a while, he finished talking on his phone. he immediately embrace you from behind.

"work?"

"yeah, they said that they needed me for an urgent meeting with our prospect sponsor."

"then, get your ass going! so you can come back here faster then we can enjoy eating the cake you bought!"

"im sorry, love. i didn't expect this to happen."

"it's really okay, tetsu. go now, be careful on driving." you kissed his lips.

he's pouting. with a heavy steps, he put on a coat and grab his things. before he finally go, he kiss you a little bit longer now.

"wait for me, okay? i didn't give you my gift yet, so wait for me."

you just nodded at him. and off he go.

it's almost an hour when the doorbell rang. you got off from the comfortable couch to open the door. well, that was fast, you thought.

kuroo never drove his car this fast like before. he's always a careful driver, because you always get mad at him when he tries beating the red light.

"where's y/n?!" his fist is turning white because of a hard grip. kenma pointed the door of your hospital room.

when he opened the door your parents are there. your mom's crying while your dad's comforting her.

"tetsurou, oh god! you're finally here!" your mom said and hugged him. then she guode you close to your bed.

"what happened to, y/n? im sorry i didn't mean to leave her alone."

"we understand. your friends called us when they can't contact you. they said y/n suddenly fell on the floor."

he's too preoccupied with you that he didn't even realize that his friends are there. your mom said they're all outside.

when he got out of your room, his friends approached him. saying sorry for what happened and they didn't know why you suddenly fell on the floor then hit your head on the table. yaku panicked when he saw your head bleeding so they immediately run you to the hospital.

it's a little late when your parents decided to go home along with his friends. now, he's all alone in your room. still wondering why his friends are in his house, but he just shrug it of.

he was woken up when he felt someone caressing his head. and when he opened his eyes, he met yours. your now sitting in your bed.

he quickly got up from his chair and embrace you tightly. he kissed your lips repeatedly too.

"stop... tetsu... oh god!" he stopped kissing you but he burried his head in your neck.

you we're surprised when you felt your neck get wet and his back is shaking. he's crying!

"tetsu? im okay, don't worry hmm."

"i thought i'd lose you! don't do that fucking act again!"

"i promise, i won't. now let me see my first baby before this belly of mine pops out in eight months."

he let go of you and look at you with full of confusion.

"pop what? what do you mean by that?"

you held his face, caressing it. also, wiping his tears away. "im one month pregnant, love."

he shuts down. like he can't process what you just said. "no fucking way! fuck! im gonna be a dad! yes!"

he's crying again! you motioned him to sit beside you and hug him while patting his back. your also whispering sweet nothings to him, and what made you laugh a little is he's replying too while crying. he calmed down. clearing his throat, he takes something out in his pocket.

its a tiny velvet box.

"this is supposed to be the gift im giving you today." he handed you the box. you opened it, a silver necklace with your name on it and small diamonds. he put it on you.

"and this, this is supposed to be my gift to you for this weekend. i just felt the urge to give it to you now." he took another velvet box inside coat.

he knelt infront of you. "this may not be the sweetest place and time to propose but i can't wait any longer now that you gave me the most beautiful gift id ever receive in my whole life. please be my wife?"

you're now crying. you can't utter any words so you're just nodding your head at him. he slip the ring in your ring finger.

"thank you, tetsu. i never imagine that we'll go this far. just a while a go, i called your friends to plan my surprise to you this weekend and now we're here."

"that's why lev congratulated me! i almost wanna punch him tho. they also know that ill be proposing to you this weekend."

Director's cut on that kuroyaku fic you posted recently the 5 things one

Okay so that was a commission i got almost within hours of posting that i was open for them, and I had never ever written for them before, but damn was I gonna try.

So I started brainstorming and the list style fic was something I'd always wanted to try? So I pitched it to the client and she liked it, so from there I just kinda started brainstorming the lists.

Yakus was tons of fun to write. I liked the idea of him being soft and cute, so i had the teas and milk thing-- originally, he'd been the one with the lock thing? But i ended up giving that to kuroo bc yaku gets treated enough like a mom, so it was nice making him like. A little looser, here.

The next thing was the kouhai thing right, which was my way of still including the whole mom-ish thing, and like tbh the thing where kuroo starts teasing him and being lowkey sexy was SO UNPLANNED it wasnt even funny. I just realized midway through typing dialogue that, hey, wait, why is kuroo just talking to yaku what happened to the kouhai-- the whole point of this item is the kouhai-- and rather than like. Deleting my hard work (all of 2 paragraphs), i just went and typed in the bit with lev about parents and stuff. It was funny and i could totally see it happening, and from there i was like yeah, kuroo would roll with it. He likes provoking people anyway. So that was fun.

Also i think a lot of why i went in that direction was bc even tho the client actually gave me th freedom to decide whether i wanted it romantic or not, im a sucker for sexual/romantic tension, so i totally. Just like. Ran with these statements that werent like explicitly romantic or whatever, but you could sorta feel a bit of tension-- like when kuroo leans over yaku, right? Theyre pressed together, back to chest. Kuroos head is near yakus ear. Its all very to-the-point. But you do know that something is up, bc yaku notes that its probably uncomfortable, not to mention the fact that yaku actually notes that he can feel the rumble of kuroos laugh or whatever, rather than just saying, oh, hes here, etc-- like that says something. Hes paying closer attention that you probably would if ut was just. A Thing if you know what i mean.

AH the drunk thing is next this was my fave. So i couldnt think of drunk shenanigans on my own, and i ended up brainstorming with a friend over chat. The married joke ended up being brought up again while we were talking and i was like oh yknow, this could be useful. Thats how the joke ended up lasting the whole fic instead of being like. A one time thing. Honestly it was tons of fun thinking about clingy, very loose and free drunk yaku, and kuroo as a gay disaster is my fave kuroo to write, so obviously he made it in here too.

The relied on thing... that was something i put in bc i wanted something a little deeper than the random everyday stuff id put in, and i figured considering hes so often considered like. Team mom, and hes a libero to boot, like noya, he probably likes being the one to give his team faith to play their best, bc he has their backs. Thats kinda it really.

And the last thing was just me liking sappy yaku again lmao. And btw, 36 questions is totally a legit podcast musical, listen to it, it made me cry just about the same part yaku cries at.

For kuroo, the first item was the thing with the locks that id meant to give yaku... but. Eh. If youre wondering where it came from, its something i do. I check the locks repeatedly bc my dad gets mad when i forget, bc obvs, safety concerns. But actually, kuroos list was a little different at first. (Ignore yakus, i cant figure out how to delete the picture from here goddammit mobile)

Now obviously most of the items stayed the same, especially for yaku's, but kuroo's item 2 fucked me over bc i dont. Actually remember enough of my chemisty to produce a full-blown fanboy ramble. Sorry kuroo.

So what ended up being there was the thing with the whole "looks mean, is a dork" item. It was actually the very last thing i wrote, bc it took me a while to come up with it as a replacement.

Item three was cute and i liked the idea of it, but it took me a bit to decide on how to show it! In the end i figured it would be nice to see yaku being appreciated and how close theyve grown, so thats what i went with. I was really happy with it.

The fourth one was planned almost from the start. Once i came up with the idea for it, i knew id probably show it through kuroo getting over a break up. I didnt intend to actually include the break up. Just sorta mention it, but... it felt too short without it.

I was actually iffy about yakus sorta confession here. I had a friend who, apparently, got confessed to while she was crying in a guys lap? And thats? Dont take advantage of other peoples weak moments to get yourself in their good graces, kids. But i felt like yaku would have wanted to be honest. Thats why i didnt have kuroo discuss it with him right away, and why i let yaku pretend it didnt happen. Bc thats not the time. Yaku would want to prove it over time, and kuroo would want to be over his gf first. Its healthier that way.

The leader thing is something i feel is a given for most people, but in my head kuroo isnt the type who like. He doesnt aim to be leader. He just is, sometimes, as necessity dictates. Hes not ambitious in that sense that he runs for class president or whatever. And i felt like it was interesting to kind of play with that idea here.

*Evan’s only mean to David when Tyler is around; when they’re alone they laugh literally every other sentence and make harmless jokes and its all feel good banter 👍

*they’re both awkward in public and avoid PDA; if u ask them abt their (established) relationship they’ll be very tight-lipped abt it（・θ・）

*its not a headcanon that they’re both born in the same year :) you may have noticed that i draw Evan’s height in line with David’s caterpillar eyebrows so that’s my height diff hc :D

*imo Evan never uses pet names or terms of endearments with David, he’s not comfortable with it, and the furthest he’ll go is “babe”. David comes up with the shittiest, most obnoxious nicknames for Evan as much as possible to make up for it tho, and he’s not afraid to embarrass Evan in public with them xD however the only legit terms of endearment David uses are “dear” and “darling” cuz he’s an old man at heart

*this one is a rather unpopular one but i can never see Evan casually calling daithi “David” instead of “Nogla”. I know its like a relationship milestone to call him by his first name, but i cant see it happening unless its for a joke (e.g David Blaine from one of the vids) so imo daithi will forever be “Nogla” to Evan. (However if it’s AU im completely 100% all for it yes)

*Evan isn’t as smart as David thinks he is (tbh David puts him on a pedestal), and Evan doesn’t actually think David is stupid or dim (shown when he calls David “smurt” when he gives a good idea). i fuckin love it when they discuss solutions to the game together because they’re so quiet and serious in those moments :>

*surprisingly Evan overthinks more than David does; he’s actually a doubtful guy. David’s generally more impulsive than Evan, but he can form a black-or-white opinion depending on the facts he’s given. Evan on the other hand will stay in the grey area- he’ll find some way to balance out both sides (unless it’s morally wrong then hell no- he’s def picking a side)

*idk how to explain this one but i really love the way they say each other’s names. I noticed in some videos that David will keep calling “Evan” multiple times to get his attention and same goes for Evan repeating “Nogla” a buncha times to show or tell David something- and i just find it really cute and dorky.. if i could i would compile all of these moments together (Ｔ▽Ｔ)

*just sayin’: when they call each other ‘owl’ and ‘lobster’ it sounds flirty as fuck

*this is sappy but i definitely think that Evan is 100% himself when he’s with David. With David, he doesnt have to be the coolass-motherfucker-with-awesome-one-liners, and instead he openly giggles and asks for help/affection without having to filter himself to sound cool (i think this can be seen in some of their videos as well). although he isn’t as comfortable with David when other ppl are around, when they’re on their own Evan can always count on David to be encouraging, supportive and playing along with Evan’s jokes so that’s why Evan is so comfortable with David ( ´ ▽ ` )

*fuckin hell they’ll always come back together; whether as friends or lovers they could never permanently cut each other out of their lives because their lives are so entwined with each other- David having Evan in his thumbnails/in the title, Evan laughing at David’s shenanigans are the highlight of his videos- and no matter how harsh they seem with each other they’ll always bounce back in the end :’)

*i think that they have a closer relationship than casual viewers of the crew think, and so they are forever a memorable aspect of each others lives (ye, theyre my OTP and BrOTP ヽ( ´¬`)ノ) 

*despite all’a this, i dont think they need each other, of course they can be independent and go their separate ways. but i just know for a fact that sooner or later they’re gonna see something that reminds them of the other and the memories will remind them of good times ^_^

here’s some of my indulgent hcs ^_^ here’s where the good stuffs at, cuz the general hcs don’t necessarily apply to these ones:

*David pining is my favourite thing ever like he’ll write a lot of songs abt Evan and he’ll post them and say that it’s not for anyone in particular but its a fucking lie because he literally has only one person on his mind when he writes it and sings it but he’ll never tell anyone and he sure as hell won’t tell Evan

*Evan pining is also v good yes :’) He’s fuckin scared that David’ll know that he has a soft spot for the Irish prick so he hides it with jabs and insults. but sometimes his fondness slips thru and his laugh comes out a lot warmer than he’d intended and his eyes linger on David and for a split second it feels like he knows, he fucking knows and yeah it scares him so in the end both of them think their feelings are unrequited woohoo

*i have a love/hate relationship with whipped!Evan cuz it feels like i stripped him of his personality but its the only way i can get him to shower David with affection so Welp he’s staying for the fluff

*whipped!Evan snippets: Evan longingly gazing at David like David would disappear the moment he blinks + Evan being bold and chasing after David because ‘you’re a part of this mess, we’re in this together whether you like it or not’ will really fuck me up

*Evan isn’t as giggly in some of my AUs. i like playing around with his GTA or Gmod-roleplaying personality so he can get pretty closed-off depending on the au. most of the time when he’s in this character, David will be the lighthearted and cheeky one to balance it out c:

*i love to treat David well but i also love to wreck him so cynical!David or insecure!David are some of my fav angst hcs cuz both’ll make him very very frustrated lol

*following the last point, David’s usually the one to fall in love first, but he’s also the one to doubt their relationship- so he’s hesitant of commitment and he’ll say stupid shit just to see if Evan will stay with him despite his flaws. 

*lowkey hero/villain au: the way bad-guy-David taunts good-guy-Evan with “little owl” or “little bird” or “plucking/ruffling yer feathers” is like, h o l y shit yes. (And don’t tell me you cant imagine Evan yelling “YOU’RE GOING DOWN” xD)

*for one of my soulmate aus, they’re not soulmates. they’re just two people who fell in love and decided to stay together despite the fact that they’re not “meant to be” cuz they feel like their relationship is valid, even if it doesn’t match up to society’s expectations. another one is that they are soulmates, but despite knowing that they’re supposed to be the perfect complement to each other, their personalities are incompatible as fuck and honestly it’s a mess of misunderstandings hahaha.

*that nsfw hc mentioned previously does not apply to most of my AUs by the way- ngl there’s a lot of sexual tension in my AUs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

so here’s a story idea based on like, me being autistic

human stuck on a planet where the dominant alien race is this incredibly in-your-face species who LOVE touching everyone all the time, consider emotional intimacy a normal part of everyday interactions, and feel *really hurt* anytime anyone isn’t SUPER enthusiastic to meet them, say hi, share a cuddle, etc.

human protag struggles just to like, function, in this hypersocial world where literally personal space is not a concept in the language, and where just failing to properly reciprocate social cues is *incredibly rude* (and yes I feel this on a spiritual leVEL what do u want)

guess what I already wrote chapter 1 bc im into it

So how I got fired was this.

I’m ringing up this customer who just needed three bolts tightened, I mean the vehicle was pretty much immaculate except for the weird loose screws, and so I didn’t have that much work to do on it. I think some of these motes just come in because they like it, sometimes, the interaction, the contact and stuff. Someone doing something for them and giving them a nice checkout experience.

So I’m ringing her up and she gives me the eyes, and comes around the little curb in the counter, which is there to seem inviting, to make people come around it, and so she comes around it, giving me that look. Her eyes are that really intense fiery orange-red that monitians can have, and I’m staring her down and trying to get into character, because I wanna give it my best, right? And she links her short arm through my long one, and gives me that, like, friendly little squeeze, and it’s a lot, having her right up on me, but I’m going with it. So I lean my body closer up against hers and honestly, it’s incredibly difficult to maintain a friendly face while doing that, because of the way her other hands are pushed up all around my body, giving me friendly squeezes and stuff. And she’s still maintaining eye contact, and smiling a lot, which is normal, and I hate it.

And then she says, “so how’s your day been,” and I really do just wish we could get to the part where I ask her for the money. Instead I grin back, and you know, thinking about it now, I can really see how she was already getting weird vibes at this point, but I grin back and I’m doing my best, and I just say, “oh, you know, it’s been,” and I kinda slipped up for words. After a second I’m like, “it’s been very interesting,” and that’s when I know I’ve screwed up, because ‘very interesting,’ is basically code for ‘total crapfest,’ and I know that, and I’m very aware of that and when I think about it for ten seconds I can tell that ‘very interesting’ is just the wrong thing to say in this situation, but you know what, it’s hard sometimes with everything happening and the noise of the shop basically crowding out your thoughts, and the feel of someone giving you that look that says we’re about to become best friends for life, even though we’re not, and then when the hands get involved - my point is it’s just very, very hard to keep it together sometimes. So anyway I say ‘very interesting,’ and you can tell the light in this person’s eyes just totally dies away.

Then things get a little hostile. She doesn’t pull away, but I know I’ve screwed up, I can see it in her face, so I try to say something super friendly, like “you have gorgeous eyes,” because she does, or “you’re the best hug I’ve had all day,” or even like “I’m glad you’re here,” would’ve done, that’s nice and standard as far as small talk goes, but instead none of those came out, and I just ended up saying, “you’re glad to hug me,” which is obviously a complete garble, and she just looked at me with that frozen stare that they get sometimes when you really, really say something mean. That stare that says, “I don’t know why you’re being so cruel, it’s like I don’t even know you,” which, you know, it’s true, we’re not friends. You’re just not supposed to say that.

So she pulls away with that sunken thing they get when they feel rejected, and she starts in with those sad, sappy eyes that really tell you how lost she feels in this conversation, like she just doesn’t know where things went wrong between the two of us, and I feel like junk because I really tried, like I really tried and I feel just as lost as she does in all this, and I don’t know how good she is at reading human expressions but I don’t think she can tell how bad I feel, at all. And she just looks at the register and then shoots me this little furtive glance and says, “so it’s three hundred, right?” and the tone of her voice is just so hurt, and my heart is honestly breaking, but I just nod because there’s nothing I can do at this point. And she hands me the money and I put it in the register, and then she says something like, “wow, humans really are thoughtless,” under her breath, and just turns and leaves, which leaves me seriously gutted, and I start crying.

Well then Krizo comes over, and puts her head on one side, and I think for a second she’s not that sure what’s happening. But then she kinda realizes and looks concerned and comes in for it, and I can tell she’s going for the full-body entanglement thing with all her hands and her head going for my shoulder area, but then she catches herself and pulls back, and confines herself to just putting two hands on my arm, which is practically an insult by monitian standards but she’s doing her best to meet me halfway. And I’m crying really loudly but fortunately no one else is in the shop right now, and Krizo has that look of pity on her face, and I feel even worse than before because this is practically the twelfth time something like this has happened and honestly I’m trying my best but I’m really screwing things up, and Krizo’s had complaints, and I’ve only been here 46 days, and that’s not even a month, but I’ve already made her lose business. She was really nice and considerate to hire me in the first place, from her perspective, since I’m a human and I struggle with all this social crap, but she figured she’d give me a shot since I was, you know, really desperate, and it just keeps not working out.

So Krizo gives me this look of pity, but I can tell there’s something else there too, and I’m trying to wipe my eyes, and I say that I’m really sorry and that I really made an effort to connect on an emotional level, and she lets me say it all and listens intently. And then she says, “hey, Markle, listen,” and she’s got this extremely sweet and gentle tone that you just know means bad news, and she says, “you work really, really hard, and you do your absolute best here, day in and day out. Don’t think I don’t notice that. I’m impressed all the time, by your dedication. By how much you’ve learned. By all of it. And you’ve been doing half-days, which is also really impressive for, you know.” A quick shrug. For a human is what she means. Here it comes, though. “I think,” she says, and by this time I’m a wreck because it’s obvious what’s about to happen. “I think we should hang out.”

Yep. There it is. I can feel myself going slightly numb inside. Better get my stuff.

“You know what I’m saying, right? I’m saying, I think we should be friends. You get what I mean, right?” she says. I mean I get it, because sometimes I legit do not know what she’s saying, because monitians insist on speaking in riddles half the time, but this time it’s obvious what the intended meaning is, even though the stated words are very confusing if you’re unfamiliar with monitians and how they talk. I nod, I understand. I understand it totally.

I’m still crying with my mouth open, but silently, and I think she gets how that’s a display of emotion, but I’m not sure she knows exactly how bad it is. Then she goes in for the full embrace, and you know what, it’s fine. This is fine. I’ll never have to see her again, so I just let her get totally entangled up against me in that incredibly awkward way that results from our bodies being mismatched, and she just kinda stays like that for a minute or two while I try to breathe and calm down. Only it’s really difficult to calm down with all these strange hands running all over you, and anyway I don’t think I’ll be totally calm until I get home, and even then I might not, and I might not feel totally calm until like, I find another job. And even then, how am I supposed to feel calm when this type of thing can pretty much happen at any moment?

Eventually Krizo lets me go, and looks at me, and says, “good luck, my dear friend.” I tell her I’ll get my stuff. I know it’s all just politeness and it’s all just being decent to people and sparing their feelings and stuff, but sometimes the way monitians say things is just such a slap in the face. I mean, we’re not friends. We never will be. I didn’t even work here for a month. Maybe I’m wrong, but it just kind of adds insult to injury when they say stuff like that. So anyway, I got my stuff. Just my lunch and my coat. And I left. Another short stint of work to stick on my resume. “I notice all your past employment has been….short term,” my next employer will say, politely dancing around what they see as the inherent shortcomings of my humanity. Honestly, I need to get out of customer service.

Oh! Oh! Oh! *claps hands like a seal* What happens when (or since it doesn't really happen often) or rather WHAT IF, what would happen if Susie was mad at Sammy? And it's like the kind of mad where she'd give the silent treatment? Because she's too mad to speak.

((Sammy would get what she’s doing almost instantly, and give her the silent treatment back. This works pretty well until they get to the studio. They work in the same department, if they refused to talk to each other that would probably cause some trouble with production. Norman would get mad that they’re acting so childish and he’d sit them down and force them to talk out their problems so they can all get back to work. Legit, he drags two chairs into the hallway and they’re not allowed to leave until they sort their stuff out or he’s gonna yell at them. They’d try not to get sappy or dramatic with him standing there, but… Susie is very emotional. They’d get to the ‘im sorry, i love you’ part and she’d just be sobbing into Sammy’s shoulder. They’re both a lil embarrassed but happy its out of the way. Never mind the fact that Norman left the door cracked open on accident and the entire band was listening in on their drama, its out of the way.))

chapter six opens with scott and allison STILL making out listen they absolutely let jackson the kanima get away when they were banging in season 2 and like this is just such a pleasant jolt of nostalgia for me they're being ridiculous and smooching when serious shit is going down and i couldn't be happier for them

like i can't even quote every dumb sappy wonderful thing scott says about her because it would just be the entire book

allison's like SCOTT BEHIND U and there's the white wolf again, staring really really hard at scott

so they stand there for a few minutes frozen solid bc what if it attacks them? and then it finally leaves

and then allison starts absolutely gushing about how beautiful it is and scott's reaction is like making me REALLY emo:

Scott moved her hair away from her forehead. "The wolf," he said. "You, you thought it was . . . beautiful?"

She nodded. "All that hair, or fur, or whatever you call it. And those sleek muscles underneath its pelt. Did you see its eyes, Scott? It looked . . . wise." She made a face. "Okay, now I'm romanticizing it. Let's just say it was really cool to see a wild animal up close like that, and leave it at that."

She couldn't know how much her reaction meant to him. Derek's sister, Laura, had looked like a wolf in death. Maybe eventually he would look like that. And if Allison saw him, she would think he looked beautiful.

And not like the monster he changed into now.

also i'm so sad we never got full shift scott i really really wanted him to get there someday

he's always been afraid of this power hurting his loved ones and it took such a long time for him to see & accept that maybe it could be used to HELP his loved ones (though i think that fear will sort of live in the back of his head forever - the worst-case scenario - not at all LIKELY, not anymore, logically he knows that, but always possible, and always the thing he wants the least, what he's most afraid of)

they start to leave but allison feels guilty about not looking for jackson, so she checks their little find-my-phone map again and scott realizes he smells smoke

then his phone rings, it's stiles, we switch to stiles pov while theyre talking

"My new best friend and I are at the hospital," Stiles said, twirling the listening end of a stethoscope in a little circle. So far he had been unable to hypnotize Derek with it. Nice werewolf, watch the watch . . . Maybe you needed a real watch to hypnotize people. Or a real person.

FUCK god damn it okay i really really dislike the ship but honestly they are so funny together

especially in season 1 bc derek is like perpetually so entirely Done with everything and it takes the form of like this monosyllabic worn-out #mood and stiles is EQUALLY done but it's this high-energy frustration like it really does play incredibly well

FUCK stiles like "you CAN get past hospital security if you wear a white coat and carry around a clipboard" "Derek grunted. He was the one holding the clipboard, but he had passed on wearing a lab coat."

stiles then realizes scott can't candidly discuss wolfie matters and reports as such to derek. then: "Because he's with her," Derek said, looking even more dour than usual. Stiles had never realized there were so many degrees of the brood until Derek Hale had come into their lives." 

a sterek shipper definitely wrote this like im sorry but this reads just like sterek fic

oh my god derek fucking stole the phone from him to ask where scott was and then just demand he leave ldfjgh

switch to derek's pov as he stalks out and says stiles can't come with him

But what he felt for them was not respect." ok this is a little ooc maybe bc i dont think derek respects power in s1 i think he covets it and fears people who have it over him but also, he's still afraid of the argents, all of them, then by the end of the series he's lowkey buddies with chris like not even on a shipping level i am crying about it

anyway stiles wants to go with him bc derek cant just run up to them and say he SCENTED them out, it makes more sense for stiles to explain he tracked them with the app. derek naturally threatens to rip his throat out if he doesn't do as he's told which leads to him recounting a bit of his past: "Threats like that had produced perfect results in the past—at Derek's command, Stiles had almost cut off his poisoned arm rather than suffer his wrath. Luckily Scott had arrived with the antidote—a bullet he had stolen from Kate Argent. She had a box of ammo filled with Northern Blue Monkshood—wolfsbane. Derek had used the wolfsbane to cure himself. Just another reason to hate Kate with all his soul."

oh my god THIS WHOLE SCENE jesus CHRIST

i like how in derek's pov there's some small part of his brain kind of always thinking about kate look at this

"I had a nightmare, Derek thought, and huffed to himself. There was no way he was telling Stiles that. Werewolves didn't share information with humans, ever. Except for him, Derek Hale. He had shared information with a human. He hadn't meant to. And the results had been disastrous."

derek finally relents and says they can take stiles's jeep but he still NEVER TELLS HIM about the weird fire dream god derek doesn't trust anyone he really really REALLY doesnt it was such a hard-learned lesson

then we get a paragraph about how jackson is lost - he bolted from the campfire because he's "good at reading signals" and his instincts told him to get the hell out of dodge

derek's scratches are really bothering him! ha ha

anyway he texts lydia so he "won't be spending night number two alone" and there ends our chapter
