key lime pie actually refers to a specific breed of lime you're supposed to use, but they're hard to come by in a lot of places so most people just use regular limes, which is why it is never as good as when you buy it from like a bakery
Looking at the pictures here, I see:
Blueberry pie
Cherry pie
Pumpkin pie
And apple pie
They all start with the same basic crust, which you can make vegan by using a vegetable shortening (think crisco if they have it in your country) pie crust recipe. I won't claim that these are MY recipes, but they're the ones I use when I'm the designated Pie Maker TM for Thanksgiving (this involves making all of the above pies... at the same time... help)
(Not using my pie crust recipe because it isn't vegan, but this one should be good for you. It's by Crisco, so they should ideally know how to bake with their own product)
Cherry pie (this pie disappeared completely despite the gluten free crust last year; they recommend using some animal products, but they're optional)
Blueberry pie (same as above; do NOT disregard the warning re: the pie tending to leak blueberry all over the oven if you don't put it on a baking sheet; can confirm that one)
Pumpkin pie (this filling can't really be made vegan just fyi; you really need the eggs to make it happen)
Apple pie (usually we use my aunt's home-canned apple pie filling that she makes from her apple trees, but when it's not Thanksgiving, this recipe is good.)
Anyways sorry to hijack your post but asking for pie advice in my vicinity is my batsignal.
PS: if you have questions about all of this, or want recipes for another kind of pie (I have made So Many Kinds Of Pie Holy Shit Dude) feel free to DM me
@rosewriteswhump whatever these are- im so serious when i say i want the cartoon ones. its been on my bucket list since forever
#im so sorry but unfortunately if i see a request for pie recipes even tangentially i must Provide#for reference: the blueberry pie is the blue/purple one with the lattice top#cherry is the one with a cherry on top and is kind of the default pie filling texture that you might see in american cartoons#pumpkin pie is the one with whipped cream on it and no top crust at all#and is a staple of thanksgiving and in my experience is HIGHLY polarizing (you either love it or hate it no in between)#and finally apple pie is the fully covered one with a few slits on the top that appears to be steaming#and is best eaten warm with vanilla ice cream on top#(people from wisconsin dont interact cheese on pizza is a wiscon-SIN)#anyways sorry again! send us pics of your Pie Adventures if you embark on them
