You're telling me that Anko Mitarashi has a once in a life time connection to Orochimaru one of the three sanin and main antagonists of the entire naruto series, she was the only person in konoha to be trained under him before his excommunication and was around him for the most of her child life. She learnt HIS ,and i mean only he could do it, jutsu involving snakes and an attack that included her killing herself along with her enemy. Anko is also achunin exam proctor and was the first person to see orochimaru after over a decade but only told the hokage so he could send out a team of anbu. She's a jounin so surely she'd have a connection or interactions with her colleagues and maybe even a relation to Kakashi because of Sakumo and Orochimaru having some kind of tie to him in canon.

So the author obviously did something with her and involved her with Orochimaru based plotlines so she could have a satisfactory ending instead of forcing her to live within his proximity and see his own child and team who he trained and didn't abandon. Obviously the author didn't push her to the side, weaken her and never explain why Orochimaru chose her to teach and to have her learn a suicide jutsu which can also be read as a lovers suicide sort of thing because of the twin snakes.

Orochimaru did pick Anko to carry a curse mark for a reason and it isn't a massive plot hole not only to Orochimaru character and his plans involving the people with the mark but it also feeling half arsed. Surely she was impotent to the plot right
