people rly have 0 media literacy how do u watch the first episode of painoko and think that makoto is a crossdressing boy like! just bc she says so?! like it’s maddening to me that people have completely lost the ability to understand media beyond dialogue lines!!!!! i hate it when a show spells obvious things out but im starting to think y’all need it bc makoto is so very obviously a transgender girl in the closet. even if the author messes up with vocabulary and accurate representation, even if makoto and everyone else around her third genders her, she’s OBVIOUSLY TRANS. like hello?? why tf would a crossdressing boy present as a girl in school and expose themselves to transphobic harassment and then secretly change into the boys’ uniform to go home and say “goodbye real me” leaving her girl-presenting clothes behind. HELLO?! but y’all won’t get it till she grabs the camera, breaks the fourth wall and says “i am a transgender woman. i am not an elusive third gendered otokonoko. i am a woman in the closet. im still struggling to come to terms with it. my family and friends also dont get it. but i am transgender, keep this in mind for the rest of the episode.” like come on
