eye symbolism?? idk man its late and i have thoughts (this is about bakugou btw)

so in mha's artstyle the child characters are drawn with big eyes (which is not unheard of in anime and manga) and i got to thinking that this probably symbolizes some sort of childhood innocence (being kids and all)

so bakugou, has innocence in these flashbacks right? hes just a kid after all (his eyes are a touch smaller and more angular which is either just a stylistic choice or something ill dig real deep into at some point idk im just trying to crank these words out before i go to bed)

but obviously the big-eyed look is not on bakugou for very long as if we look at him nowadays his eyes appear to have shrunk just a tad

OOOHHH SPLENDID IDEA lets seeeee

Vulture and Carnation would get along i think, i may draw her scowling a lot given the circumstances of her doggone life but Vulture is actually a pretty laid back and nice person to be around when not suffering. Carnation would be pretty intimidated at first but warms up quickly. In the end they’re both just two girls thrown into the deep end against their will and changed by it forever, and they will find solidarity in that and companionship in getting to be normal around each other :)

Hawk and Misfortune would get along for sure, but she and Menzoberra will play off each other like CRAZY. Both relationships are different though. Misfortune is more like an actual friend, she’s normal outside of the whole demon pact and they would play wicked grace together all the time and joke about picking up ladies. Menzoberra is more an acquaintance that is just really tuned into her brand of quips and humor, so they sound like they’ve been best friends forever with the way they masterfully commit to the bit together but actually Hawk is kind of intimidated by Menzoberra given her… everything??? That is NOT a normal person. And not in the good way like everyone else in Kirkwall. But she’s funny so as long as nothing happens she can stay… (decision they will probably come to regret)

Heron would get along most with Tav, they’re both more on the soft-spoken side and both know the burden of duty well. They can have discussions about their past and their present and how becoming a leader and an icon has changed them. Just some good productive conversation that leaves them both satisfied. Though surprisingly i think Heron and Baphomet would get along as well! Baphomet would tap more into Heron’s mercenary side and they would enjoy sparring with each other every so often. Heron is also used to dealing with weird types so Baphomet’s strangeness does not affect her in any way. Though, they’d be more friendly acquaintances than friends.

AS FOR YOUR OCS!!! I havent read a ton about them (my mistake) and i am always scared to death of portraying others characters wrong so im like “oh my god if i dont consume every single detail about them and ruminate on it and listen to every headcanon or lore bit i wont get a good grade in friends oc” (thats not me suffering though. Thats me enriching myself. I enjoy the act of doing so heavily) (if you have a toyhouse you should link it 👀) so i am NOT AT ALL CONFIDENT in these. And you may squarsh me in a comedic manner if i am totally wrong. BUT!

Another crossover but i think Sigrid and Vulture could get along!! They both seem pretty high strung from their Predicament(tm) and from what i remember both also seem to involuntarily let it out by getting annoyed or snapping! I think they could find a sort of companionship in relatability and Vulture at least as someone who is naturally inclined toward wanting to help people through caring for them would want to try and help out Sigrid if she desires to be helped :)

I also think Vulture and Emira would at least get along. Vulture would be mentally celebrating that there is someone who understands by basically being in her literal exact position, which would make her want to really reach out. Connect, if allowed. And if that fails well at least they can show each other their dogs RAAAHHHH FERELDAN SUPREMACYYY

I'm not a huge fan of Blackstar. I read Blackfoot's Reckoning, and I couldn't tell if it was supposed to be a "redemption" story since he was being evaluated by StarClan to receive his 9 lives. He's obviously done a lot of terrible things for a lot of terrible people, taking everything at face value instead of digging a little deeper to find the truth and make his own judgement calls. He idolized cats so much, and it really blinded him to his own atrocities. I don't remember if he ever made amends in the main arc or not before he died?? 

What actually bugs me the most, is by StarClan's own standards, mentioned in some of the newer books, Blackstar should've ended up in the Dark Forest. In fact, A LOT of cats should've ended up there, if StarClan followed what they preach and didn't play favorites. I'm getting off topic but I don't understand how StarClan got PISSY with Leafpool and Squirrelflight about having illegitimate kits and lying about it, but cats who murder and generally do awful things, get a free trip into cat heaven! I don't get how you can justify someone like Ashfur and allow him into StarClan, but actually consider condemning Leafpool, whose worst crime was HAVING BABIES !! and babies who actually saved the clans, sooo why ya'll mad starclan?? Imagine being judged by Bluestar and Yellowfang of all people... literally the least qualified to be judging people. im sorry, im mad. Idk bro, its sus. Starclan be gatekeepin' fr

but yeahhh, I didn't like Blackfoot's Reckoning. I was in mental agony reading through it. I feel like the purpose of his novella was the Erins trying to "redeem" him in the eyes of the readers like "ohhh look Blackfoot wasn't all that bad, he wasn't a bad person, seeeee, he deserves to be in starclan." But all it did was show me how UNQUILFIED he was for a leadership role. This dude really was a sheep his entire life smh. we all joke that darkstripe was a simp for tigerstar, but lets be honest, i'm pretty sure Blackfoot was too. How else could he be so blind to literal cat war crimes??? Erins... It's OK to have non-villain characters be seen in shades of grey. You don't need to make them squeaky clean and void of all faults in order to call them a good guy. The world is more than black and white. Lesson of the story. StarClan is really wack with their judgment calls and blackfoot was not a good, nor a smart person. ShadowClan deserved better. And I have an au in the works to show just what I mean,, if i ever finish it .. ^^;

lol well i try to include him in stuff but we’re just into wildly different things. and yeah for sure, it’s weird bc we have a pretty big age difference i just saw her as a baby for so long, until one day she was old enough to talk about more stuff and we’ve been besties ever since. being an older sister is definitely not for the weak but i wouldn’t change it if i could (though i do wish i had one a bit older than me too lol). oof gosh i don’t think it’s possible for me to just pick one…. we find ourselves in laughing fits so often. going to a txt concert together was pretty incredible though!

they are def movie vibes. they properly met (had seen each around before) bc my dad worked at a brewery and my mom came looking for a job, and he pretended he was the manager and hired her. his actual boss said he would hire her but only if my dad trained her. they worked together for a while, my dad told his friend who also worked with them that he was gonna marry her one day. friend said good luck lol. then my mom had to leave town, and that morning my dad showed up and tossed his bag in the car and said i’m going too, and they’ve been together ever since.

ok tbh i usually make it without the vodka too lol, only if i have the patience. also my sibling Swear they can taste it when there’s alcohol in the sauce and they prefer it without so i’ve just gotten in the habit of making it that way. oh yeah veggies in pasta is my favvvv! my all time fav pasta dish is just pasta primavera (aka with roasted veggies and olive oil and salt) and then topped with an ungodly amount of fresh cheese (parm or any kind at all). we’re having soup for dinner tonight but i’m not sure what kind yet 👀 probably some sort of italian chicken soup.

ooooo those sound amazing!! yesyes i lovvveeee naan i love indian food in general. i love samosas and butter chicken and palak paneer and lentil curry and everything else i’ve ever tried. i’m from the US so we have a lot of access to different foods. i can’t imagine it’s AS good as actually being there, of course, but i do love what i’ve had! i’ve never had those two things tho. modak sounds sooooo 😻😻

my christmas holidays start the day after thanksgiving lol, i mean i’m not in school and nothing is on a strict schedule and my mom looovvessss christmas so we just do as much as possible leading up to it. i honestly don’t think i relax any more or less than a typical day, bc i usually am pretty chill and i always like having things to do equally? so im kinda just like making my regular relaxation and activities and festive as possible. we’re gonna make gingerbread houses tomorrow i think? and have more christmas lights to look at and baking to do and stuff. i love it im very big on holidays in general i love having things to celebrate and do special things for. ^-^ are there any festive foods from another country’s winter holidays that you really want to try?❄️🌸

i haven't really tried it with vodka (i only kinda started drinking this year and i am taking it slow) but is the hint of vodka that strong in the sauce usually? god yes i love a good primavera with crunchy veggies in. i only like broccoli when it's in pasta because it just goes so well with a red creamy sauce! ooh most important question : what's ur favourite pasta shape! sooo how was the soup? 👀 i'm vegetarian but i love a good hot n sour noodle soup with loads of pepper in it!

i feel like u can never go wrong with indian food because it's got something for everybody! but god yes the dishes u mentioned are some of my favourites too! i know u said samosas but have u tried samosa chaat? it's basically a samosa broken into pieces and then we had some mint sauce, tamarind sauce and sweetened yoghurt on top of it! i haven't been to the usa, but while i was in the uk there were so many indian places and some of them were really good and reminded me of home so i'm guessing that that's the same with usa too! especially with how many indians live there now. and yes modak is truly so so good! maybe next year during ganesh chathurthi u'll be able to get it in the states!

out of boredom, you opened X and started scrolling, trying to find interesting stuffs of news that might keep you awake. but there were no such gripping thing for you to see, until you passed through a familiar video. “ngl but miss them, nostalgic memories for all of us” *1 video attachment* and by your suprise, the video was your past band having its first concert. you remembered that sweet memory, it was your first concert actually. it was not big nor that small, people were singing along the song. the video lasted a full minute, that’s enough to catch a glimpse of everyone. soon, you saw your being standing in the corner with a glittering dress that stood out. but out of embarrassment you sped up the video, melting in the couch not knowing out of embarrassment or the feeling of longing that memory.

omg okay let's seeeee you've just unleashed something in me and i might just end up rambling about why i like em in general so here we go

-i really like clingy timkon looool like esp as they got closer and older they just got more and more touchy and affectionate. and after conner came back after dying in infinite crisis they got even more unbearable T-T hugs would last longer, touches would linger, etc etc. anything to make sure the other is still there. also kon is just...very dogboy coded to me so everytime tim leaves the team and kon wants him to come back (like when tim left YJ, when he quit robin, when he was alienating himself in RR), i can just imagine kon wagging an imaginary tail when tim does come back.

-kon subconsciously starts to float off the ground when he follows tim around...and spreads his ttk around when he's pressed up against him >_> idk i need to think of more ttk hcs

-this isn't really a headcanon but when tim took off his mask for the first time in YJ #20 (?) and kon and cassie and greta all looked shocked, cassie said kon bet that tim had zits or smth and that's why he never took it off. then when tim took off the cowl in adventure comics # 3, kon was immediately like "You seriously need a haircut." -there's this one issue where kon flies to gotham to bother tim and tim is like "can you PLEASE just wait three more hours until im done" anyways the thought of kon just randomly flying to gotham whenever he wants to pester tim about his day is cute to me. need him to do that more <3

-also funny as hell to me that when they first met kon was always like "you're not the boss of me >:(" and now kon will do anything he says. also there's this one panel where kon is like "you ever notice your voice drops an octave when you get all commander like" and it lives in my head rent free. he probably clowns tim for it all the time but also likes it. Also, being rebellious and striving to be his own boss is a very core part of kon's character to me, but i like thinking about how he probably has grown to respect tim so much he'd trust his life in tim’s hands.

5) Do you like one shots or multi-chapters?

I heavily prefer multi chapters in both writing and reading. Writing cuz the pacing just suits me better and it feels like it gives me a lot more room to steadily explore what I want too explore. This goes for double cuz i usually tend to deal with psychological themes and it takes good time to properly unravel things like that. I also prefer reading multi chapters because I need that segmentation of story in my head. Like, i've been procrastinating reading some very fandom popular works because they have huge wordcounts all condensed into one chapter and that just looks exhausting to me, I think my upper reading limit is like 10k per chapter n even thats really pushing it. Also I comment on all the stories i read as a rule and that also helps me compartmentalize the information i received by bringing it up in the comment so when i dont get that chance i just end up forgetting like 70% of the fic by the time i get to the comment box. This is why if i'm gonna read a really long one shot i just tend to write comment notes on my phone or in word so i can properly bring up everything i want to mention.

9) Do you visualize scenes in your head before you write them? (Can you picture the setting, character body language etc)

Yeah! I usually do this while walking around and listening to music, I tend to imagine a lot of action scenes and like key emotional moments like this. But also if I'm not listening to music I'm in brain type writer mode and just sorta tell myself the scene as i walk and then takes notes on my phone for things i particularly like. So i imagine them both as actual images and as words.

16) Do you have a method for getting characters to sound/feel in character?

:) I do not and this is one of my biggest worries hgvgh i feel like every character i write just sounds more or less like me jbjh but Ker said I'm fine and here and there people praise my characterization so i figure its probably passable uwu.

Lets seeeee I'm gonna pick 7) How do you edit your fics? What do you look for in your edits? cuz ive been doing the gang au prequel edit so its on my mind

So editing for me varies a lot, like some fics ill just do a quick edit and throw them out, some ill go full sicko mode (gang au) but here is the most complex it can get (again, gang au)

So I finish writing

Stage 1. First Lucy edit additional info edition - in this edit i expand scenes i think ended up too rushed and add in new scenes in places where it seems they could be of use, obviously this is optional if i think what i write is fine as it is

Stage 2. First Lucy edit actual editing edition - here I do the actual editing aka i go through the document and correct mistakes or awkward phrasing or what grammar i can pick out (not the best at that part). I pay attention to how things sound and flow and also to common mistakes Ker pointed out i make. One of mine is that i tend to get stuck on one word and repeat it thorough the chapter a lot so i try to pay attention to that (tho in the last thing ker edited they said i didnt repeat a word but i did repeat a structure so....progress?)

Stage 3. Ker edit! - I hand the doc over to Ker. Their job is primarily grammar and wording since those are my weak points but i also usually give them free hands to note on anything that seems off and ask for extra stuff depending on what im doing. Ex. Since Gang au prequel is a one shot that's being split into chapters i asked them to keep an eye on pacing and the way i segmented the fic aka if they think a chapter should end early or go on longer and be connected with another chapter and so on. I will use this opportunity to once again say that Ker is the best beta and i love them so much and they do such amazing work and they honestly helped me improve and learn a whole lot i love you Ker <3<3<3<3

Stage 4. Post Ker edit - Here is where i go through the document and fix up all the stuff Ker marked. I usually do grammar first and then go down the document fixing the 'reword this' or 'expand on this' type corrections

Stage 5. Final reread - this either happens immediately after stage 4 or some time after depending on how i'm posting but basically this is just me reading through the story again with a bit of a fresher perspective, making sure all the edits work well together and catching any overlooked mistakes

Then the story is ready to post!
