yo so I’ve got some losers club thoughts for you, mi amigo.

im making playlists rn and bill is totally emo. mike listens to county. bev is like indie-emo. richie likes midwestern emo shit. ben likes his cute lil indie stuff. stan is obsessed w folk music. and eddie exclusively listens to anxiety tunes, idk how to classify that as a genre but it’s real i pinky promise.

i want your take on what the losers listen to, these are just my thoughts.

i totally agree with you on Bev and Richie, they went through emo phases for sure. Bev defo more on the indie side, Paramore too!! Hayley Williams was her bisexual awakening. she’d be a huge Mother Mother fan

i particularly think Richie was a Music Elitist™️ in his younger years (a secret enjoyer of One Direction though) and eventually lets himself enjoy anything and everything (like, i see him liking comedy music, Flight of the Conchords, Steel Panther, Weird Al etc) HUGE Fall Out Boy/Blink 182 fan. but also i think Went and Maggie are music lovers, which accidentally pushes the Music Isn’t As Good As It Used To Be mentality

Stan i can totally see being a folk lover, like Fleet Foxes, Father John Misty, Sufjan Stevens, Simon & Garfunkel, Harry Nilsson etc. Stuff he can play while bird watching, soft music, but also he’ll sit in the mental void with “i am a rock” by S&G playing on repeat. but also i think since he calls Patty Baby Love, he’s gotta enjoy 50s/60s music, sweet little love songs. i think Stan is just the biggest romantic

I can see Ben being a boy band/indie/country fan (since he’s a canonical Rootin Tootin Cowboy Bootin wearer) but like Love Song Country?? he LOVES Shania Twain and early Taylor Swift in partics. but also 1D, nsync, 5sos etc

Mike I can see maybe soft/pop-country, Dolly stan. but i think he’d like funk & folk too. Tim Buckley!! he’s folk-funk (fonk?) But Mike is the most agreeable with music, he likes to see his friends happy, and he’ll listen to anything that they play without complaint

i’m picturing Anxiety Music and my brain is either going Stephen Sondheim/hyper pop/spa music ahhhh. Have you got examples of anxiety tunes? I think Eddie would be a pop fan (like i just simply believe he loves Madonna, Billie Piper, Gaga, idk) i can see him liking hyper pop too, stimmy songs??

i hate to say it but i kinda think Bill would like Oasis, he’s pulled out a guitar and unironically played Wonderwall. but like i think Bill would be pretty open with music too, he’s mostly into the lyrics of songs, so like he’d sit and dissect and analyse Hozier lyrics - since he’s The Writer

idk, this is my take with a more modern losers club!! i’m sure there’s other opinions out there!! with my Losers playlists, it’s mostly off vibes and like individual songs rather than like genres and artists? but hopefully this was an okay response!!!!!!! i’m sorry this is such a long post!!!!
