Eurovision 2023 songs personified
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Personal notes and doodles below!!
I was gone for a while because over the course of 4 or so months (since eurovision songs had been being released) I was doing this! I tried to make all the designs last time in 2022 but uh. It was really disorganized and I didn’t get through them all XP. So i tried to streamline the process and it worked!!! It took a LOT of my time out of my usual day but it was fun!!! I love lil design challenges like this!!!!!!
Also here are a few doodles among the way! I also have a lot of trivia on these characters as actual characters and also headcanons on what would translate from the actual song contest to whatever this would be but that may be for another time lmao

Okay but WHY do you think they're not promoting anything? Because its genuinely baffeling to me. Surely this isnt just "dan and phil think its embarrassing to promote projects" because I feel like thats more true for dan than it is phil. Also thats a stupid reason. They always talk about how they lost money during tatinof and ii, and yes it shows how much they enjoy touring that they do it despite it being a money sink, but it doesnt HAVE to be a mkney sink. They are allowed to make money off of it. In fact if it does well they can actually tour more. I just dont understand their plan. I know they love doing everything themselves but I genuinely think they need to get some PR people on their team bc seriously.
okay, I could totally be misremembering/misinterpreting what d&p have said here, but I don't think they lost money overall on tatinof and ii. they said they lost money on the UK leg of tatinof but I'm assuming they made money on the US, AUS, and EU legs (or at the very least recouped what they lost). the success of tatinof was what enabled other YouTubers to go on tours, and I would assume that in a creator's/promoter's eyes "success" includes monetary value, not just butts in seats
with ii I know they said they lost money going to Asia and maybe one other content (idr sry) but again I took that to mean they lost money only on those legs and assumed they made money on the other legs
tours are massive undertakings and I just don't see how it makes sense, in terms of business, to go on multiple tours when you're losing money on each one
(that's all to say I do believe dan lost money overall on WAD, but that was a passion project for him in a way that I'm sure tatinof and ii weren't so he was probably more willing to lose money. it was also coming off of COVID so I can imagine he ended up losing more than he expected since im sure the pandemic affected how easy it was to sell tickets)
ANYWAY I 100% agree it's weird to not promote the tour and they truly do need somebody who's not them telling them what to do 😭 and someone competent at that lmao bc iirc AEG wasn't stellar with some WAD stuff right? so I doubt they're helping now with TIT lol
lol I totally didn't even answer your question 🤦🏻‍♀️ I honestly think their reluctance to promote it probably is because they feel awkward doing it and don't want to come across like they're being pushy... though imo coming across as pushy is better than coming across like you don't care

uh oh another post on my video game thoughts that absolutely no one asked for
i picked up breath of the wild again becos im bored and i can only play so much anch in a day, and cindered shadows isnt quiiiite holding my attention yet (TBH? i havent been able to focus fully on fe3h becos my entire mind has been on botw lmao). anyways, i feel like this is probably the BEST game i have ever played. everything about this game is amazing and its so incredibly long and immersive. I would value this game at around $300 if im being honest lol.
maybe its the completionist in me talking but theres just so fucking much packed into this game. the open world and random resources found literally everywhere. the behaviour of disengaged hordes. the roaming animals. the soft piano. the landscape and landmarks you can see everywhere. its incredible and extremely overwhelming how you can go anywhere, at anytime, and get a full experience. this is my first experience with a true open world game and im absolutely blown away which probs adds to the hype.. if i had played skyrim before i picked up botw it wouldve been totally different.
botw definitely improved my melee combat skills immensely which sounds weird as hell - i dont really consider """melee fighting skill"""" universal across games but like. It helped w my coordination if that makes sense? the combat system isnt hard per se, but usually i stick to games like fe series style combat, my first introduction to video games (true video games?) was pokemon soo that kind of led the way?? i feel super confident in botw even storming the castle.
now lets talk about my actual feelings: i feel like i never understood the incredible ROMANCE of video games until this game. im not talking about love or intimacy but romance as a concept; mystery, excitement, an entire world detatched from real life. ever game ive ever loved until botw (INCLUDING MAJORAS MASK OK) has never really had that romance to it, i love them but its not like a completely different world ig? im thinking about how i feel about awakening rn, im fond of it and its absolutely one of my favourite games, but it doesnt have that ethereal quality botw has.
not to say that botw doesnt have flaws - what the fuck is wrong w that voice acting? and i truly dont believe that the way the loz series is traditionally structured can be forced into open world - i like linear games in general though, or at least its what i usually expose myself too, so i have some bias there - the storyline attempts to be able to function disjointed but it doesnt quite make it.
all praise and criticism aside, i really do believe its the best video game ive ever played. i probably wouldnt replay it again, or it would be a giant undertaking just like a few other games of note, i just feel like its almost too massive and exhausting to replay like any of my other faves. the same thing with majoras mask - it makes me feel so many emotions and its an incredible undertaking to finish to completion. i felt it, i experienced it, i appreciated it and will for the rest of my life, and thats all
anyways, just another long ass essay on a stupid nintendo game because im a child and i dont play anything else and im in my feels bc i picked it back up
