i think the most detrimental part of how I draw is my inability to just get loose with it. I've always struggled deeply with designing building because I do too much- how is the road laid out? how does this affect the placement of the door and windows? would these windows make sense for wall placement inside? are the windows transparent (need to design interior of the entire room to compensate) or reflective (need to figure out the opposite side of the street and design THOSE buildings to compensate)? would they have the time money, resources? the desire to even put this building in this location? if this were in the real world, what architectural background would it draw from? what color would that location make the sidewalk? should the sky be cloudy or clear? would this look nice in the skyline? oh god I need to design the skyline-
