What is it Day 1? Day 2?
So today is Thursday, Crazy 8s day. The day that we have prepared, over prepared and then prepared more for. So overall, crazy day, great outcome, love you all. (idk where to put this so imma put it here, i was soft news with Alexa, aka best softnewspartnerever) So like last night as we were discussing everything that we were going to do today we all had pretty much agreed that there was no way that the prompt was going to be anything to do with music, because... way to obvious, right????????????? so expect the unexpected...
prompt is We got the beat. and literally we all thought it was going to be so easy cuz music city right, gotta be so much to do with music. False. Every recording studio turned us down. And one snake of a school pre set an interview with the one recording studio that answered but its fine. im fine. But as we started to edit we realized with more time, our story was not going to be easy to cram into 1 minute. And it wasn't, we ended up exporting an hour late and BUT everything turned out to be okay as our seg turned out pretty killer. but our stand up was soft.
But so the president computer crashed several times, and i have no clue why. this is afresh install of premiere, on a fresh timeline, so it should not have been having any problems but it still crashed and pushes us even CLOSER to deadline. But Casey being the godess that she is pulled it out. And said segment who was thought to have terrible audio... had near perfect audio. BUT, The show turned out to be literally our strongest show so far. All the practice came out. And if we don't place, i will be thoroughly surprised, because not only are a lot of our competitors not even competing in our category but our show turned out to be better than last years, and we won 3rd last year soooo. do the math.
But then opening ceremony and like, just as lit as i remember it last year. all the schools from around the nation showing up and showing out. We had a dance battle between WBTV and CTV. We had a florida chant and it was lit time and was one of the best moments of STN so far. Afterwards we met up with all the florida school for a picture and a moment of unity.all florida schools including CCNN, WBTV, PCTV, Seminole Ridge, and a few others, and obviously MSD. showed up for a picture in our florida strong shirts we made. It was good unity moment that showed us that no matter if we are competing in the same category or not. south florida, or north florida, rivals or sister schools. We're all one big broadcast family.

Some worry as popularity of hCG diet grows Beauty Science Techniques

Some worry as popularity of hCG diet grows
A diet that uses injections of the pregnancy hormone hCG to trick the body into accepting an ultra-low calorie diet is growing in popularity and controversy.Proponents say the diet is safe and effective. But plenty of other doctors say the diet is anything but.Kelowna, B.C., nurse Debbie Driscoll is currently on the hCG diet for the second time. During the first round, she lost about 25 pounds. She gained a few back and is trying the diet again to lose that weight and then some.As part of the diet, shes down to just 500 calories a day. While she says she sometimes feels light-headed, she also says shes never hungry. So far Im down 40 pounds now, Driscoll reports. Ive gone from being classified as severely insulin resistant and probably just a few months away from becoming diabetic, to where Im no longer insulin resistant anymore and Im well within the normal ranges.Every morning, Driscoll gives herself an injection of hCG, or human Chorionic Gonatrophin, a hormone thats derived from the urine of pregnant women and made into an injection as part of infertility treatments to spark the release of a ripe egg from the ovary. The idea of using the pregnancy hormone for weight loss was first proposed by doctors in the 1930s. A number of clinical stuides emerged in the 1970s discrediting the diet, but in recent years, the diet has seen a resurgence, mostly among women, who have been seeking out doctors willing to prescribe the hormone for this off-label use.Dr. Andrew De Pieri, who runs the De Pieri Clinic in Kelowna, is one of those doctors who prescribes the diet.I first learned about it at a conference over a year ago in the U.S. when I attended an American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine program and I have to admit: I was quite skeptical when I first saw it, he tells CTV News. But when he tried it on patients and found that they lost weight, his skepticism disappeared. He believes its a good diet for those who have failed to lose weight with the usual methods.People are desperate for weight loss measures. It isnt just down to diet and exercise and there are people out there who really need this, he says. After The Dr. Oz Show featured a segment on the diet, the Glenmore HealthCare clinic in Calgary says it saw a surge in interest in the diet. The clinic offers the diet as a one-month program for about $1,000, which includes the daily injections, the counselling on the 500-calorie diet and weekly monitoring. The clinic has already offered the diet to 300 patients including the clinics director Jeff Russell. He did the diet in January and lost 34 pounds in 30 days. Russell now helps train other doctors about the diet so that they can open up their own clinics. But as the diet grows in popularity, its also attractiing plenty of detractors. Many says there have not been enough high-quality, rigourous studies of the diets effects. Others worry taht the hormone can cause side effects when used for weeks at a time, such as blood clots, leg cramps, temporary hair thinning, and constipation. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has received at least one recent report of an hCG dieter who developed a pulmonary embolism, which is a potentially fatal blood clot in the lung, but its unclear what role the hormone played in the event.Health Canada does not endorse the diet. In an email to CTV News, Health Canada spokeswoman Leslie Meerburg, says there is no scientific evidence that the use of HCG either by mouth (as drops under the tongue, as advertised on the Internet) or as a self-administered injection, could promote weight loss. When used to treat a condition for which it is not indicated, such as weight loss, human Chorionic Gonatrophin could cause serious side effects. In women, this could include painful cysts occurring as the result of over-stimulation of the ovaries, she said.Dr. David Lau, the president of Obesity Canada and chair of the Diabetes and Endocrine Research Group at the University of Calgary says he strongly opposes the hCG diet and would like to see it banned.I would not only recommend stopping this kind of practice, but I think it is very important for the federal agencies to consider to prohibit the use of HCG injections or hCG in the treatment of weight loss, he tells CTV.Lau believes that the only reason that hCG dieters notice weight loss is not the hCG injections but because the diet is so highly restrictive.Certainly, there is no scientific data to support the use and in fact, I would say this is no better than a placebo effect, Lau says.By taking injections of no proven benefit, and potential harm, and costing a lot of money, I would argue that is really a bogus and a scam that should really be discouraged, he says.Similar Posts:IAPAM’s hCG Training for Physicians June 3, 2011IAPAM’s hCG Training is Consistent with Dr. Oz regarding hCG for Weight LossSleep and DietDelineating Weight Loss in Men and Women at CurvesIAPAM Echoes FDA’s Condemnation of Homeopathic hCG

STN 2017
I wrote a blog post for the first night but the internet wasn't working and me being a procrastinator, I didn't post it the next day and decided to just do an entire day schedule and put it all into one at the end so here it is Day 1: We back and we back and we back. Today was the best day I’ve had in a long time and being in California is amazing. I remember how fun it is to be with CTV out of Florida and I have lots of confidence in us as a group and individually. I did another practice on the plane for action sports editing but I really need to find music for my real competition. CTV is a family and this week will only have more good things to come Can’t wait for Crazy 8’s. Day 2: Today was so packed I’m exhausted. We went to that theme park and I don’t even wanna try and spell it rn and met up with my brother who I haven’t seen in a couple months. I had tons of fun at the park and then Santa Monica pier, I think I took way to many pics tbh. On the bus we went over ideas for crazy 8, so I think I’m ready. Me and Madi can do it, I know we can, and I know Lian can too. Best luck to everyone tomorrow and I know we can kill it. Day 3: Crazy 8’s- What a rush, This is my second year at STN and I know whats going on, everyone’s stressed, the person next to you won’t make deadline, everyone is afraid we won’t make deadline, anchor shots get messed up, and everything thats never happen before starts to happen. But for CTV, we never cave in. We make deadline and we kill it. I had a lot of confidence in us this year and I knew we Could pull it off. Even though when we tried to export it almost took 9 hours(literally) but it somehow was already exported. IDK man it was a little weird and definitely kept everyone on edge. I think I’ve gotten closer to more people in CTV this trip. Some people that I would never regularly talk to on a daily basis, I am now talking to them daily. We really are a family and we get closer and closer by the day. Amazing job by Lian today, thank you so much for being the best president ever Love you so much!!!!! I really hope we place this year, after watching our show I really think we have a shot. Best of luck to CTV (ohhhhhhh oh oh oh oh ohhhh) Day 4: good day for practicing, I had no competition today so I was practicing some edits that I can use for action sports tomorrow. Chardo told me to talk to a judge for tomorrow and So I talked to him and showed him some of my practices and he gave me a lot of good tips but the best one was for when people see ur video you don’t want them to see your edit, you want them to see the video. This is a really good tip and It definitely stuck with me. Im really nervous about tomorrow and I hope I place. I found out STN provides the music this year so I hope I get something good. Everyone tells me that based on my practices I should place but If I don’t I’m letting everyone down. I don’t know maybe Ill get an easy sport and maybe my first song will be the one, and who knows maybe I can place. Day 5: Im feeling good about my individual. The video was surfing and It was all from like far away, I think I did good, I made a lot of cuts. I hope I place. We went to downtown Disney and It was pretty fire, Lots on my mind about CTV. Too many to write so I’m just gonna end this with a good luck to everyones individuals and I hope we win tomorrow Day 6: WE WONNNNNNNN. I couldn't be more happy and proud of CTV right now. We came in 3rd place and I knew we had it in us. I didn't win an individual award and neither did anyone else, but who cares when CTV works as a team we win as a team. I'm really glad we get to take home an award this year and it's crazy how close I've gotten with people I never talk to. Winning is always the best and we go crazy every time. The day wasn't even over after that we met up with amazing CTV alumni at in and out then we went on the warner brothers studio tour, needless to say the best day of the trip. I'm on the way to the airport now and I really can't believe it's over already. All the fun times we had at STN has already come to an end. We are CTV and I can't wait to come back next year better than ever. Well this was my trip. I really love all of you and I love CTV. This trip reminds me why I do it, it brings out my passion and devotion to this club. I spent a long time yesterday watching all the excellences from this year and last year and we really kill it and I have so much faith in us every year. I can't wait to kill it next year For CTV news this has been Harris Ness

day 2... it's real.
so i cant ignore this morning. it was amazing to bond with everyone before competition once more. going to knott's berry and santa monica was incredibly fun and i had an awesome time with some of my best friends, but after the we got to the hotel, all of those memories blurred (though I'm sure they'll return once i look at all the pictures taken and all these crazy competing shenanigans are over). we stepped into the hotel and situated our rooms- which was annoying- and headed to the second floor of the hotel. i was about to become very familiar with this area, its the hub of stn. i saw a sign, welcome to stn. before this week started, i hit this crash of excitement because i had already been through this phase of nerves. the past few days have been fun but none of this seemed real. it didn't feel like it was the real thing. practices felt more real. anna handed me a lanyard with my credentials on it. seeing my name sent chills down my body. we walked into the editing room to talk about competing tomorrow- i couldn't stop my heart from racing. i dont know if I'm ready, but there is no way to find out other than just getting it done and seeing what i can do. i just hope I'm prepared enough. its funny to think it all just hit me now:
im in california
im competing in stn
i have crazy 8's tomorrow
i have to represent ctv with the best of my ability
it all hit when i put the lanyard around my neck, put my hand into a cluster of talented hands that were all here to produce beautiful things, and all the mouths in the room shouted ctv. it echoed in the room and our cheer filled it to every corner. it echoed and it hit me in the face; I'm here, its here, this is happening.
wish me luck?
