Neither of them are gamers, but Poppy's coworker recommended her the game, and she introduced it to her boyfriend after falling in love with the relaxing and cheery atmosphere of Animal Crossing. Because she got into it first, she's the mayor or island representative and thus in charge of making the big decisions of the town or island, but they still collaborate together, leave cute letters for each other, and have fun making their own little town.
