its honestly really weird to me that theres people who hate sally or amy because they prefer one character and think the other one only exists to replace them or take screentime away from them or whatever. because neither exists to replace the other they were both created around the same time for completely different areas of the franchise. it wasnt a case of sally being around for a while and sega suddenly going Hmm ..... well i dont like her actually . replace her with this new character . the american and japanese sides of things just both happened to create a girl character around the same time . and they dont even have much in common so idk why people insist one must be ripping off the other

#its especially annoying when people bring shipping into it #because despite amys crush on sonic always being there from the start she wasnt actually intended to be a love interest character #so she definitely didnt exist to replace sally in that department #i think some of the sally fans who act like this just cant see a girl character without accusing them of being a sally ripoff actually #because ive seen them call amy a sally ripoff evne though they dont really have all that much in common #ive seen them say that characters like tangle and lanolin are sally ripoffs too #i have to wonder if anyone called blaze a sally ripoff back in the day. like theyre both princesses who are friends with sonic . soo #im not specifically targeting sally fans who hate amy though amy fans who hate sally are annoying as hell too #but with them its never out of their feelings for the actual characters #its because theyre so/namy obsessed and seeing sonic be shipped with anyone but amy makes them mad
