Now that Shadow and Knuckles are dating, it's kind of imperative that the hedgehog learns to get along better with his boyfriend's friends. Here's how I think he could do it:

Tails is easy. He's extremely smart and they both have an appreciation for automechanics - Shadow with his bike and Tails with his plane. They can also trade information; if Shadow doesn't understand something about technology, Tails will help him in exchange for knowledge about medicine or his chaos powers. Brain Buddies!

Contrary to popular belief, I think he and Sonic are friends, to the extent that sworn rivals can be, at least. There's clearly a respect of skill present, and Sonic is no pushover. He's saved the world so many times by being a surprisingly brilliant strategist and fighter. Shadow knows that he can't come out on top in a race, but it doesn't matter. They challenge each other, push each other to raise the bar, to be better. They're friendly in such a way that they inspire one another to surpass their perceived limitations.

Amy would be easy to bond with, too, I think. Shadow could have a great respect for her strength, being able to wield that giant hammer like it's nothing. I don't know that Amy could necessarily like or admire any part of Shadow besides the fact that he looks a little like Sonic, but she's friendly and adaptive, so it's a bond of mutual respect above anything else.

The Chaotix are a team of skilled detectives (plus Charmy), so Shadow would appreciate their investigative prowess. He'd most likely be friendliest with Espio because of their similar dispositions, and he would mention what a great recruit he'd make on stealthier GUN missions.

Is Knuckles friends with the Babylon Rogues??? If he isn't, oops. If he is -

Wave kinda acts like Rogue, and Shadow lives with her, so he's got this in the bag. Give her a passing compliment, hand her some jewelery or pretend like he's got something precious to steal that she can make off with, and call it a day.

Storm kinda acts like Knuckles, but...dumber. Compliment his muscles, get in some sort of arm-wrestling match, call it a day.

Jet is fucking Annoying. I have no doubt Shadow would have zero patience for this smarmy bird. At BEST, they could bond over extreme gear (nice board. thanks, nice skates.) but that's it, bro. This blog is part of the Jet Sucks Gang.

I've only seen the first season of Sonic Boom, and Shadow only appeared in the very last episode of that season, with some vague and limited knowledge in between, so if he's ooc I'm sorry!

This is my part of a trade with @louie-loses-it which was super fun!! I hope we can collab again! Please consider visiting his blog and checking out some of their absolutely fantastic art!

Shadow strolled quietly along the beach, ever-present scowl traded in for something softer, for once. He had no plans, no schemes running, and no carefully crafted manipulation fed to him through Eggman to go and carry out at the moment, so his afternoon was free.

His shoes made indentations in the sand as he walked along. He briefly considered taking them off so he could enjoy it barefoot, but dismissed it out of concern that the idiot doctor could come by and annoy him again. He seemed to hatch a new plan against the village once a week. It was nearly episodic at this point, so the hedgehog begrudgingly remained on guard for the sound of machinery on the horizon. For now, he could relax, his ears catching only the sounds of the ocean lapping against the shore and two pairs of footsteps.

Shadow stopped walking. One pair of footsteps.

Fists clenched, the striped hedgehog whirled around and bared his teeth, coming face to chest with a tall, red echidna.

He squinted, then lifted his gaze upward until it landed on a pair of excited, violet eyes.

"Heya, Shadow!" Knuckles beamed. "I'm glad I found you! I -"

"Where are your friends?" Shadow demanded. "Waiting out of sight to ambush me? You all should know by now that I'm much too fast for you to gang up on so easily."

"Huh? No, I'm all alone!" Knuckles replied. "Or - no, I'm not. You're here, so I'm actually not alone!"

"Quit fooling around!"

"How dare you!? I only fool around when I have my jester hat on! And it's in the wash right now!"

Shadow grit his teeth. There was no way he was sent out here to be any sort of distraction, or to do reconnaissance; this buffoon was all muscle and no brain.

"Then tell me," he bit out, rapidly losing patience, "why you're here. Before I beat it out of you."

Although, admittedly, that would be hard to do. He'd seen the kind of force Knuckles put behind a punch, and if he wasn't careful, being on a receiving end of something like that would put him out of commission for a few days. Shadow could not afford to be downed like that. He needed to play it smart if this turned into a fight.

Shadow liked Knuckles' honesty. If he didn't understand something, he was quick to make that known, and the hedgehog was happy to explain it to him. If he wanted or needed something, he vocalized it, and the hybrid would do his best to get it for him.

If he liked something, or someone, well.

Hearing Knuckles confess his romantic interest in the hybrid right after an intense battle with Eggman wasn't something he was expecting, but Shadow was grateful all the same. Since they've been together, he was making an effort to return that same level of honesty the echidna had been giving him.

"I like it when you wear clothes," Knuckles commented one afternoon, gesturing to the bomber jacket his boyfriend had thrown on before coming to visit him. "You have good taste."

The hedgehog thanked him, taking a seat next to Knuckles on the Master Emerald's shrine. Together they watched the slow-approaching sunset, content in each other's company.

"I like when you do that, too," Knuckles muttered some time later. A black ear turned in his direction before red eyes followed, curious.

"Do what?"

"Relax." Violet eyes met his gaze, the sincerity almost too much to bear. "The stiffness leaves your shoulders, and you look happier. I like seeing you calm."

Shadow was glad the low light made it hard to tell if he was blushing, because he could feel the heat in his face.

He cleared his throat. "You...you make me feel calm, so in a way, you're praising yourself."

"Sure, if you wanna see it that way."

They lapsed into silence again, but it wasn't uncomfortable. Rather, it was anticipatory, though the hedgehog couldn't for the life of him figure out what for.

There was also the belated realization that Knuckles hadn't been watching the sunset almost the entire time they sat together. As the last rays started vanishing behind the horizon, the shorter male turned to face his companion again.

"What is it?" Shadow pried, gently. Knuckles didn't shy away, instead giving words to his desires, displaying vulnerability in a way his partner would never fully know.

"I really want to kiss you."

While I continue writing out my hella long angsty fic, have some headcanons!

Knuckles is so so so tactile. Knowing that Shadow is virtually invincible means he doesn't have to be afraid of hurting him, so it's hugs and hand holding and cuddles galore.

Shadow's thoughts run along the same vein. Knuckles is incredibly strong, so the hedgehog can be a little rougher with him when their make-outs get passionate. And if he accidentally pokes his boyfriend with his quills, well...stop trying to hug him from behind. He's not made to be the little spoon.

Knuckles wants Shadow to be little spoon so badly. Getting pricked a hundred times a night while trying to sleep is a pretty big deterrent, though.

They LOVE to play Punch Buggy!!! It's funny and they never keep track of who actually wins, it's just an excuse to work their way up to a friendly spar!

Knuckles has gotten good at translating Shadow's varying "hmms" and grunts, which the rest of the crew finds both cute and weird. One little noise and the echidna knows whether or not he's upset, amused, needs space, or hungry.

Shadow's love language is acts of service. He prefers to show you that he cares rather than simply putting it to words. On the other hand, he loves to receive words of affirmation.

Knuckles' love language is quality time. He lives alone on Angel Island, and while he's not fond of trespassers, it does feel extremely isolating at times. He loves to receive touch.

Knuckles kissed Shadow first. He watched him punch his way through steel in order to take out a giant robot, and made out with him amongst the rubble while they were both high off adrenaline. Shadow considers it one of the most romantic things they've ever done.

Shadow wants kids!!! Let him be a family man!! Knuckles isn't sure he'd be a good dad, but Shadow would assure him he'd be great.

Knuckles has different customs regarding romance compared to the rest of modern Mobius. Sharing his culture with Shadow is considered an extreme act of devotion, and implies intent to stay with him for the rest of their lives.

"Shadow, if you die before I do, would you permit me to bury you on Angel Island, near the shrine?"

Bruh basically fucking proposed with that one djsbcosndksbfjs

Knuckles l o v e s making Shadow laugh. He's very attracted to the sound of his voice. Especially when they fuck

Shadow likes matching chest fur with his boyfriend. This one's a little sillier but I like the idea of him showing up with his fluff cut into a little sideways crescent moon like Knuckles'.

Thinking about an Actor au besties!

Team Dark still play government agents, but off-camera they're all kind, light-hearted people and Omega is ridiculously funny. His delivery is very dry and monotone on account of being a robot, but man his timing is impeccable. He will make an off-hand comment that sends half his costars into tears and delay the shoot by half an hour.

Sonic is this confident hero on camera but he's almost painfully shy off-camera unless he's friends with you. This makes fan meet-ups hard, cause he tends to get overwhelmed and run off.

Tails is still his adopted brother on and off screen. He acts like a little shit but in a fun way, not in a "please control your feral kid" way.

EGGMAN. my god. Eggman is an angel when he's not playing a diabolical villain. He's Shadow's uncle and they're very close. Think of Mr. Tinker - that's what he's like when he's not acting. Super kind, gives EXCELLENT hugs, doesn't know what method acting is, he just turns it On and Off. He doesn't have a mean bone in his rotund little body.

Knuckles is a volunteer firefighter when he isn't on camera! He and Shadow met when the studio caught ablaze due to a faulty pyrotechnics stunt and they fell in love when he carried Shadow out of the building. Their chemistry was so strong the studio asked Knuckles to play a background character in a film. He did so well they kept him on and gave him bigger and bigger roles.

The meds are kicking in so I gotta take a break but please ask me for headcanons or whatever if you like the idea

Tell me which 5 TV shows make you feel better, then tag 10 other blogs.

Im dyslexic and I got the numbers mixed up so it’s 10 shows now whoops

(Through this I’ve realized how much I absolutely guzzle American content. I need recs from other countries so plz HIT A GIRL UP)! This is going to be long as fuck because I’m so passionate about storytelling. Hope you can find something comforting to watch <3

1. How I Met Your Mother: I love everything about this show. From the overarching plotline of “something better is always coming,” and “Nothing in life is legendary unless your friends are there to see it,” to the technical design (The mother is a Yellow Umbrella, Robin is the Blue French Horn) to the intricacy of how this story is told, How I Met Your Mother is integral to my happiness. So much so that whenever I have a panic attack my partner turns on HIMYM. I love it.

2. What We Do In The Shadows: This show is fucking hilarious. Just a bunch of pure of heart, dumb of ass bisexual vampires making a documentary about their lives. Nadja, my favorite character, is autistic and so is one of my best friends. To see her face light up at that kind of representation: unparalleled. There are only 20 episodes and I’ve seen each one four times. It’s hilarious. Colin Robinson the Energy Vampire is one of the most hilarious characters in television history.

3. King of the Hill: My uncle introduced me to a lot of the shows from the 90s that I love. He used to babysit me and show my inappropriate stuff and this was one that always stuck with me. While being genuinely funny I think it does a fantastic job of showing that conservatives can also be kind and understanding people. Hank Hill is one of the greatest cartoon dads; he loves his son, he loves his wife, and any time he is wrong he takes the criticism graciously. Fantastically funny. Also includes the late great Britani Murphy.

4. Daria: she’s one of the characters that I relate to the most. Misunderstood in her time, a fantastic portrayal of what it feels like to be the smart girl--the outsider. She eventually grows to understand that people care about her and what she has to say, that maybe her classmates and family members aren’t terrible. Incredible growth exhibited in someone so young. ALSO: the animation is so badass. Dry humor is the best humor.

5. Pen15: Shows us that we all were so awkward in our youth and that, in many ways, we never really left middle school. At its core it’s a story about friendship--how important it is not to take yourself so seriously. Has a staggering amount of heart, as well. Love.

6. Bobs Burgers: Loving the people around you BECAUSE of their eccentricities, not in spite of them. Loving fully and completely until it consumes you. Loving without fear. Fantastic, i’ve been watching since 2011 and I’m so proud of how far this show has come.

7. Sex and the City: First off, I’m a Miranda. While some of the concepts of this one are a little outdated, the heart of the show remains the same: friendship, good shoes, and good sex are the most important things in life. Carrie Bradshaw and her friends taught me that it’s okay to be unapologetically smart. And Sexy. And sweet. That being a woman isn’t one-toned, it’s multivocal. That there’s not wrong way to be feminine. Love. Not to mention every person in America knew if they were a Carrie, Samantha, Charolette, or Miranda (let me know which one is you).

8. Grace and Frankie: You really don’t want to get me started with this one. Two women in their 70s must start fresh in life when their husbands leave them to marry each other. This show says so much about womanhood, how we are thrown away once we reach a certain age. It teaches us that it’s never too late to start over and live your best life. Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda? Powerhouses. Icons. Heroes to young women for decades. This show has so many fans of so many different ages and I could talk about this show for HOURS if you’d let me.

9. Gravity Falls: Spooky and funny and SO MUCH LORE! My gothy nerd heart sings every time I watch this. Such a beautiful message about growing up, too, which is one that always makes me cry. The buildup to the final moments of Weirdmegeddon 2 is incredible...I have a tattoo of Bill Cipher. And I’m a simp for outstanding animation. I could watch this show a trillion times and never grow tired of it.

10. The Proud Family: I’m black, so. And I was in elementary school around the time this originally aired so it taught me a lot of really important things about race and personality and sticking together as a family. Also: Beyonce and Solange did the theme song. What else could you ASK FOR!

Honorable mentions: Blackish, Moesha, Sister Sister, A Different World, 30 Rock, Arrested Development, and New Girl.

D: Is there a song or a playlist to associate with [insert fic]?

soooo i will normally put together a 3-4 song playlist and listen to that on repeat when i write any given fic. for before the moment’s gone i listened almost solely to no.1 party anthem by arctic monkeys, dancing with your ghost by sasha sloan, and stay together by noah cyrus. if u have any other specific fic ur interested in knowing abt i will gladly talk at length abt the process in writing it LOL

F: Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

im a particularly fond of the dialogue i wrote for senior superlatives, because i personally think it’s the most successful attempt i’ve had at being funny and biting and tender all at once. i feel like i peaked with that fic. it’s still my favorite i’ve ever written.

H: How would you describe your style?

i genuinely have no clue!! i guess if there were a spectrum between dialogue-heavy and description-heavy, my writing would lean more toward the former. other descriptors i would use are words like direct/earnest/self conscious/wry/heavy usage of the word “like”/even heavier usage of both run on sentences and fragments

I: Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?

i would have one but i don’t ever feel guilty. check out my bookmarks for non guilty pleasure delight

M: Got any premises on the back burner that you’d care to share?

like....yes. ive been thinking about a summer camp AU for a long long long time.... will probably write it for ben/devi and eleanor/paxton but who knows i might wanna mix things around a bit and fuck around with some different rare pairs :) lowkey waiting on s2 to give me some good content and new characters to play with

S: Any fandom tropes you can’t resist?

the enemies to lovers trope... obviously.

i am a particular fan of AUs and i absolutely adore the “jaded high school reunions” au and the “frequent hookups to oh-no-i-think-i’m-in-love-with-you-oops” au. i also am a fan of crack fic just by virtue of being obsessed with rare pairs

T: Any fandom tropes you can’t stand?

this isn’t necessarily a trope but it bothers me to read fic about ben and devi getting together right after s1 when it isn’t well developed. for me it usually demonstrates a lack of understanding of how both characters would process their budding relationship (platonic and romantic!) and usually reads as extremely cheesy and forced. however I am also not usually a person who enjoys reading fic set in canon..... so.

U: Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.

here is a list of my favorite fic writers in general (complete with rationale and how they inspire me) but for nhie im gonna highlight a couple of my friends, who also happen to be extremely talented writers!

if you read any nhie fic at ALL you’ve probably read something by magnetichearts and for good fucking reason bc she manages to write some of the best ben/devi content out there. her work is so sweet and funny and angsty and smutty and she waxes poetic like no one’s business. check out her work on ao3 and tumblr for a great time

flashlightinacave has some of the best, fluffiest ben/devi content. if you love yourself and/or love feeling Good Feelings from reading fic, please please please check her out! she’s an absolute beast when it comes to heart-wrenching scientific metaphors and vivid descriptions. you can find her work on her ao3 and tumblr

cori_the_bloody is such a gifted writer who produces fantastic fic that always makes me actually laugh out loud. her writing is so sharp and smart and always captures just the right amount of awkward-sweetness and i have yet to meet anyone who can capture the earnest kind of self consciousness and embarrassment and tenderness that she does in her ben/devi fic. her work is on her ao3 and she also writes incredible analysis abt nhie on her tumblr

one of my favorite, most underrated authors in the fandom is peterpan_in_neverland and she deserves all the attention and kudos for writing some of the BEST eleanor/paxton fic in the game. that pairing tag is basically her tag. i love the way she writes dialogue and her fics are fabulous reads for anyone who loves good writing and horny content ;) here’s her ao3 and tumblr

hmmmmmmmmm i think devi. i dont actually like seeing her suffer but i think she’s the most fun/difficult to write when she’s tortured? she has such a loud personality and balancing that with her more introspective, reflective side is a challenge but always satisfying to write.

ok this is definitely not what you were talking about BUT it’s still painting s o o o

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

“Uh oh!”

“Shh. They’ll wake up if you’re not quiet.”

Something brushes lightly across your bare back, tickling softly between your shoulder blades.

You’d love to guess Loki’s hand, but he’s fast asleep beside you, hand resting just under your chin—he must’ve had a hand on your cheek when you fell asleep.

“Uh oh.”

“Stop sayin’ that, Blueberry, it’s fine. They’re gonna love it!”

“…uh oh.”

The third little “uh oh” rouses you from your rest, the blurry bedroom slowly coming into focus as you blink.

As expected, your kids are visiting this lovely early morning—Elliot sprawled across Loki’s legs, little Frigg sitting calmly between the two of you.

“Wha’s goin’on?” You mumble, keenly aware of the fact that you’re a bit…bare, and probably shouldn’t roll over until you’re able to get the blankets back.

Elliot just gives you a sheepish grin, whipping his hands behind his back to hide. “Nothin’.”

“I don’t believe you,” you yawn, rubbing your eyes. “Frigg, honey, what’re you doing back there?”

“Uh oh,” she whispers.

That’s comforting.

“Is that—is that a paintbrush??”

Elliot’s face falls. “It’s washable! It’ll come right off!”

“Elliot!” You’d sit up, or at least roll over, but Frigg takes the wet paintbrush to your back again and you realise that might not be the best option, considering you apparently have a work of art smeared across your back. “What on earth made you think this was a good idea??”

He gives you another sheepish grin, twirling his paintbrush between his fingers. “Um…I just, um…Frigg told me to do it.”

“Uh oh.”

“Frigg told you,” you repeat, trying to give him your best glare over your shoulder. “Frigg, the baby. She told you to come paint your parents?”

His bright eyes flit away from yours.

“…yup.”

“You know she only knows about four words, right?”

“Yup. She’s a real smart baby.”

You bury your face back in your pillow with a quiet groan. “Elliot, don’t lie to me.”

It only takes about two seconds before he cracks.

The tears come first, lip wobbling as his eyes brim with tears, and he flops off of Loki’s thighs to bury his face in the blankets, muffled sobs echoing through the room.

“I’m sorry,” he cries, “I just—I just wanna draw, and-and I wanted t’ do somethin’ with Frigg, and you’re just layin’ here—”

“Elliot,” you whisper, reaching back to rub a hand over his back. “Elliot. It’s okay, sweetheart. Look at me.”

He lifts his head, eyes red and sniffling. “I’m sorry, mommy.”

“I forgive you,” you quietly assure him with a gentle smile. “You just can’t lie to me like that. And you definitely can’t blame your sister for things that you do, you understand?”

“I understand.” He nods furiously, wiping his nose with the back of his hand. “Really, I do, I understand.”

“We’re all good, then.” Grabbing your pillow, you clutch it close and prop yourself up on your elbows to smile at him. “Now show me this piece of art you’re making. Dad’s back makes for a good canvas, doesn’t it?”

“Dah,” Frigg agrees.

Paintbrush abandoned, she’s apparently decided to switch to finger-painting your back, tiny fingers smearing across your shoulder blades.

Elliot nods, picking his paintbrush back up. “Well, I-I took all the bumps and made ‘em into stars. Kinda looks like space, doesn’t it?”

You scoot your way closer, studying the paint drying on Loki’s bare back—he might just be pretending to sleep, at this point, you wouldn’t put it past him.

All the bumps, Elliot said.

The bumps, apparently meaning the scars.

Each scar, each freckle on Loki’s back has been painted a dark blue, contrasting against his pale skin rather beautifully, actually. With his paleness and the painted scars and the darkened freckles, an expanse of constellations stretches across your husband’s back—you can’t believe you never noticed.

“That’s beautiful,” you tell your son in a hushed voice. “Geez, Elliot, you’ve got a good eye for hidden art.”

“Thank you!” A bright smile spreads over his face. “If he turned blue, then it’d really look like space, but I’m just gonna imagine it.”

That really would, completing the masterpiece perfectly; you’ve half a mind to run and get an ice cube, make him turn blue in his sleep just to finish off the painting, but at that moment, Loki squirms.

“Mmmf.”

“Dah!” Frigg gives your back one last swipe with green-painted hands, then clambers over the mattress to Loki. “Dah, dah!”

His eyes flutter open and her little hands go straight to his cheek.

“Dah,” she coos, a gummy grin on her tiny lips.

“Morning, Frigg,” he laughs. “I hope that’s only paint on your hands.”

The little handprint she leaves on his cheek brings a laugh to your lips, and Loki reaches up to grab her chubby hand and plant a kiss on her knuckles.

“What brought about this cozy art session?” He yawns, huffing a disobedient lock of hair out of his face. “To be conducted in the nude, nonetheless?”

“Watch it,” you laugh and smack him lightly on the arm. “Elliot and Frigg wanted to paint, and somehow we ended up as the canvases.” You point at your back, laying back down on your stomach with a grin. “What do you think? Frigg painted this.”

“Me!” She bounces a little as she laughs, waving her green hands in the air.

Pushing himself up on his arms, he lightly pinches her cheek. “You, sweetheart? It’s absolutely beautiful, a masterpiece if I’ve ever seen one.”

He leans over to press a firm kiss to your cheek as you lay there, head turned to him and a conundrum of colours smeared around your back, unable to stop the smile that spreads over your face.

You turn your head just a bit, catching his lips in a deeper kiss before he can move away.

“I think you had the perfect canvas, Frigg.” Loki sighs happily when you break away. “Just look at your mother. A work of art even before the paint.”

“That’s enough, silvertongue.” You shake your head at him with a laugh. “Elliot, you should tell dad what you painted.”

“I painted the sky,” Elliot answers excitedly. “It’s space, and I drew some stars and I made all your bumps into stars, and they made a constellation!”

“All my bumps?”

“One sec. Can you turn blue real quick, Loki?” You reach over for your phone, focusing the camera on his scarred back as it shifts to that beautiful blue. “Look at what he saw.”

Scooting closer to him, you bump your arm into his and show him the photo.

“It’s even better when you’re blue like this,” Elliot pipes up, taking the brush back to Loki’s skin, touching up on the little body painting.

Loki just blinks a couple times, still staring at the photo.

A bit of hair falls in front of his face and you quickly push it behind his blue ear, a bit of anxiousness starting to prick at your heart—how’s he going to take this?

“I think it’s beautiful,” you offer, and dart forward to press a kiss to his cheek. “We’ve got two little artists on our hands.”

“Wha’d’ya think, daddy?”

“You’re going to make me cry.”

He buries his face in his pillow, and you and Elliot can’t help but laugh.

“I’m not joking,” he laughs, voice muffled, “you can’t go around saying things like that, you can’t be that soft with me.”

“Yeah, I can!” Elliot argues with a grin. “I love you, so hah!”

Frigg lets out a string of garbled giggles in agreement, bright eyes jumping from each of your smiles to the next.

Head still shoved in the pillow, Loki lets out an anguished groan. “You three. You end me. You ruin me.”

“Guilty as charged,” you hum with a smile. Taking his hand in yours, you lay back down beside him and plant a kiss on the tip of his blue nose. “Are you two done back there or is this how the entire morning is going to be spent?”

“Don’t move,” Elliot orders, climbing back onto Loki’s thighs. “I’m gonna draw the moon. Pass me the white paint, Blueberry?”

Loki grins at the little gurgle from the other end of the bed.

“Fine, I’ll get it,” your son huffs, and a hand lands heavily on the back of your leg as he reaches over the two of you for the open tub of paint. “I can’t—reach—oop.”

Something warm spreads over your thigh.

In the sudden silence of the cozy little room, Frigg speaks volumes.

“Uh oh.”

“just talk to him, y/n! it’s really not that hard.” emma said, nudging you. you groaned, burying your head in your hands. “maybe not for you, social person, but for us losers, talking to people you don’t have a crush on is hard. how am i supposed to talk to him?!”

unsurprisingly, the boy you were talking about was remus lupin. you had been crushing on him for god knows how long (one year, seven months and three days. not that you were keeping track or anything.), and it didn’t seem to be going away any time soon. yay.

it all started back when you had potions with him in fourth year. let’s just say you aren’t the best at potions, and slughorn, taking pity on you, partnered you up with one of the smart people in the class, which happened to be a brown haired adorable clumsy mess. gee thanks, sluggy. and since then, you had been too shy to say more than a couple sentences to him, while still maintaining a raging crush on the gryffindor.

however, remus had been crushing on you for nearly two years now, and was in the same predicament- every time he saw you and went up to talk to you, his mind went absolutely blank. he had been crushing on you since near the end of third year, when you delivered a swift takedown of one lucius malfoy. today, he still swears it was the most badass thing he had ever seen- and he’d seen euphemia potter bitch-slap walburga (or as james had christened her, cheeseburga) black, which was a very close second. and when slughorn partnered you up together in the autumn, he silently thanked the potion gods for making you shitty at it.

the boys had found out about his little crush a couple of weeks in, and after teasing him mercilessly for a solid fortnight, they let it go. when remus lupin wants to be shy, remus lupin will be shy, and you can’t do anything about it. that was a quality the two of you shared- the ability to be so stubborn that people just gave up on trying to change your mind. worked a treat with teachers, mind you. just kind of backfired with crushes.

sirius had just had his six month anniversary with marlene, and after taking her out to hogsmeade, was feeling like setting other people up. james hated him when he got in these moods- sirius kept spreading around that james was over lily, and as he put it, open for business. however, marlene had told him that mary macdonald had heard lily tell one of the girls in their dorm that she actually didn’t hate james, so he was locked down. peter was dating mary, thanks to sirius’ most recent meddling session, and therefore, by process of elimination, remus was the only single pringle left in the group. and therefore, by process of elimination, sirius’ target.

“so! moony! i just had my six month with marls, and i just realised- you’re still single as a... as a snape! hah, i’m funny. anyways, who ya crushin’ on, moons my boy?” sirius smirked, practically patting himself on the back.

remus raised an eyebrow. “same as always, pads. hasn’t changed for two years.” sirius groaned, sliding off the sofa onto the common room floor.

“y/n?! still?!” he said incredulously, laying in a heap, before hopping up. “right! i’ll see what i can do.” he grinned, before walking over to marlene, no doubt to ask her about you.

remus spluttered, jerking up. “wait, what?! no, pads! i’m perfectly happy where i am, thanks.” sirius mimicked him, raising an eyebrow. “sure, lupin. look, i’ll sort you out, okay? i’ve got this. now, marlene, love of my life, my sunshine, my boo thang, would you happen to know who y/n likes?”

you were eating breakfast when marlene slid into the seat next to you, stealing a croissant from the platter in front of you. “y/n! long time no see, huh? anyways, i wanted to talk to you about something...”

after about five minutes, marlene bounced off, a smile on her face as she went to sit back down next to sirius. the blonde whispered in his ear, and he grinned, before nudging remus. “mate! y/n likes you!”

poor remus, who was drinking his tea, choked on it, and erupted in a coughing fit, james slapping him on the back as hard as he could. “james!” remus got out, voice croaky. “not helping!” james pulled his hand back, looking guilty. “oops, sorry moons.”

when remus had had a couple sips of water to calm him down, he looked back at sirius, face starting to flush red. “what did you say?”

sirius rolled his eyes, repeating himself. “listen, dipshit, i said y/n likes you! now you can stop pining over her for two bloody years and go ask her out!” remus just stared at him, mouth slightly open. sirius sighed, stood up and grabbed remus by the collar, dragging him over to where you were sitting and tapping you on the shoulder.

you turned round, raising an eyebrow when you saw sirius holding a struggling remus. “is everything alright, sirius?” sirius smiled, pushing remus forward. “yep! remus has just got something he wants to ask you. isn’t that right, remus.” remus winced, rubbing the back of his neck, painfully aware of the whole table watching.

“hey, so i was wondering if you... maybe wanted to go to hogsmeade with me sometime? i mean you obviously don’t have to if you don’t want to, i was just wondering cuz i actually really like you shit why did i say that-”

“remus!” you cut him off, smiling softly. “i’d love to. now you go have a sit down, you look a bit red.” remus paused, shocked, then grinned, nodding as he went to sit back down.

emma nudged you, wiggling her eyebrows. “told you so, l/n. i fucking called it.”

I have a head ache. And I'm looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow. I'm laying on my couch waiting for James to come over. Its been a long but generally good day.

I slept okay last night. I wasn't thrilled to wake up but its fine. I got dressed. Felt good. Made a sandwich. And headed to work.

Me and Frank talked outside for a while. Made a plan for the day. I would do thr planned tour and the first firing, and then the powder monkey tour. He would make the charges for the day. And Frank always makss wild charges.

The tour never showed up but that was okay. I had a nice morning talking to people. And then me and Frank tag teamed the firing. And it went really well even if we almost forgot to run the gun out. Oops. I only wore one ear plug and that worked well. A nice big bang.

I had lunch and watched videos. Made ren fair plans with James. And then back to the deck to give my tour.

This was my first official powder money tour. I had like 15 people come and it went well. I gave an almost 45 minute tour and everyone clapped and it made me feel really good and smart.

I was down at the desk for a while. I worked on Etsy stuff. Made a new logo. Talked to James about what were posting next. Jessica B came over with her kids and we talked about her picking up the paintings this week she is buying. It was a nice day.

I had the last of my day on board. I had some great questipns from guests ans even got to give my mini history spiel and the people were like raving about how good I did. I felt like the best educator today.

I got to show off my art a bit and talk about musuems and art. 2 Australian guys came on board and one of them called me darling and i almost died right there.

We closed up quickly for how many people were on board at 5. I got a $3 tip. So that was neat. And then it was time to go.

Which was great because my head was aching and I was starving. I was going to have dinner with James but then he says hes not going to be able to meet me until after 8. And that wasnt acceptable to me. So I went to chipotle alone. Had a salad. And went home.

I got a shower and I've been resting since then. James is on his way here. And im hoping we bake something. Or get ice. Mostly I want to sleep.

Lunch shift tomorrow. A good day i hope.

I’m your resident trash admin, skye! it’s my first time adminning on my own and ahhh I’m honestly so nervous but so many of you are so sweet I’m touched!! if you have any advice/see that I’m doing anything wrong let me know! anyway, a little about me, I tend to ramble a lot, especially in tags, as you may have witnessed on the main lmao. uhhh I also love screaming about headcanons and possible plots so feel free to hit me up anytime! a few fun facts: I get obsessed over things v easily, and I know three languages, five if you include dialects, and am trying to learn two more!! as I’ve said before I’m so excited for this and I can’t wait to get to know all of you and your muses! that being said, I’ve included some stuff about my bby ariella under the cut!

okay first off ... I’m gonna admit that yes I did name her because of the little mermaid oops. aNyway, I was going to write a bio for her but things got so busy so ... you’re going to have to make do with some bullet points for now, sorry!

she’s always been a source of exasperation for her parents because there were some days where it seemed like she was exactly what they wanted in a daughter, their perfect princess, but other days she would run wild and it felt like she was rebelling on purpose.

for most of her young life she did try to please her parents, but there was always that itch inside of her not wanting to be stagnant.

around high school was when she first discovered street racing, and from there she never looked back. she would sneak out at night to try it out, and as time went on and she made more friends she would spend her time after school with them as well.

she still did take the medical course her parents wanted her to, but at that point it was only because she coincidentally had an interest in it as well. she wasn’t the best student, though, as she often traveled to different cities for her races and thus was absent from classes

she spends most of her time with her found family tbh, and only occasionally goes back to her house. she still makes some appearances at galas or dinners or whatever, but her parents are also quite unsure about whether or not they prefer her to attend because she’s quite unpredictable.

as for the experiment as a whole, she’s 50/50 on how she feels about it. while she does like the idea of having abilities and learning to control them, she’s suspicious about the motives of the initiative as a whole. her parents benefiting from all of this does not help, either.

her personality is pretty complicated. part of why I chose the water ability for her was because of the parallels between it and her personality. kind of?? so like water can be v constant in a way, like you know if certain things happen then it will evaporate/boil/move in a certain way etc. so like there are certain things about her that are constant ( especially her loyalty if you earn it! ), and sometimes you know how she’s going to react in certain situations, but then she might turn around and do things differently. a lot depends on the timing and situation, as well as her mood, but you can never quite accurately predict how she’s going to go about things. omg this was kind of confusing I’m so sorry.

she’s also v adaptable, like she can fit in with the rich snobs as well as she can chill with the street kids, and after so long doing underground racing she’s also pretty street smart! she’s able to pick up on smaller details as well, which helps.

she’s quite reckless tbh, and most of the times just goes with it. the thought might occur to her that it may be dangerous, or not the best idea, but most of the time her response is very much a ‘yolo’ kind of thing.

that’s mostly it, but more will probably come out while we’re plotting and stuff so please don’t be afraid to message me!!

Jimin looks up and shoots a glare at Taehyung who’s sitting diagonally across from him at the table. Taehyung’s face lights up with a triumphant smile.

Jabbing the home button, Jimin picks up his pen and goes back to staring at the same question that he’s been stuck on for nearly 20 minutes. There’s a reason Jimin’s here, stuck in study group past 4pm on a Friday afternoon rather than practicing his dance moves in the studio.

Whoever deigned it necessary for a music student like him to take math in university should rethink their lives. How the hell is math even remotely needed in his degree? Something about holistic education and well-roundedness or some shitty excuse is what the deans will say but that’s honestly a ton of bullshit. Bullshit that has people like Jimin suffering because his midterms came back with an ugly 30/100 on the top and a “see me” post-it note tagged on the side. Taehyung had the nerve to laugh at him when he barely scraped a 33/100 on his.

So here they are, stuck in a study group that’s supposed to coach them into passing finals. Jimin’s only here because the fear of having to retake the module and suffer another semester of math is real.

His phone starts vibrating again. Jimin tsks under his breath, trying his best to ignore it, which is nearly impossible when his phone is basically wiggling its way dangerously close to his crotch. Stupid Taehyung and his non-existent attention span. Resigned, Jimin sighs and picks up his phone again.

Jimin sucks in a breath. Dammit why did he ever let it out to Taehyung about Namjoon? He should have known that Taehyung would use it to blackmail him someday.

Not that intoxicated Jimin had cared a week ago when he, in Taehyung’s words, “wailed for a solid hour about Namjoon hyung’s beautiful gaze and lips and body and everything”. And no, Jimin is still adamant that he couldn’t have been as pathetic as what Taehyung makes him out to be. It’s just a tiny crush okay, Jimin can appreciate good aesthetics and that’s not his fault.

[4:40PM Jimin] You wouldn’t actually do that

Satisfied, Jimin does exactly that. Taehyung can’t disturb him now and he can have the last 20 minutes of study group for math practice. Extra exam preparation questions that he has to hand in on Monday and still has no idea how to do. Jimin suddenly feels the urgency in his bones.

Inherently, Jimin is someone who hates relying on others for help. It makes him feel somewhat worthless, inadequate in a way that leaves an unsettling feeling swirling in his gut. Which is why he’s debating hard whether or not to actually bring up his questions to their study group mentor now.

The choice should be pretty obvious, because putting his pride down now is better than taking the walk of shame to the front of his tutorial class to meet the professor. It should be obvious, except that Namjoon is their study group mentor. Yeah, the very Namjoon that Jimin has a tiny crush on.

Jimin bites his lip. It shouldn’t be a big deal really. Namjoon doesn’t even know he has a crush for god’s sake. Besides, Jimin’s pretty sure at least a fifth of the juniors in school have some sort of a crush on Namjoon. Namjoon who is tall, charming, smart and really nice and helpful to all juniors. Jimin probably needs his fingers and toes (maybe Taehyung’s too) to count the number of times he’s overheard whispered conversation and soft squeals over senior Kim Namjoon.

But that said, the math problems are still leering at him. Forget about having any choice, Jimin doesn’t want to die of shame on Monday submitting a blank paper. Sighing, Jimin picks up his phone, turning on the camera app to take pictures of the questions he’s been stuck at.

Namjoon has this system in study group, where they can send him pictures over WhatsApp of the questions they need help with so that he can look over the questions while helping the previous student. It’s somewhat like his own queue system that he’s implemented and it works. And yeah, it’s specifically WhatsApp, not KakaoTalk. Taehyung said and Jimin quotes “that Namjoon hyung is way too English-ified”. As if that really explains why Namjoon prefers an American chat app over a Korean one.

Jimin opens Whatsapp and opens a fresh chat with Namjoon. His phone vibrates, banner on the top of his screen displaying WhatsApp notifications from none other than Taehyung. The first one reads “you really muted!!!!” and the second announces an attached photo.

Rolling his eyes, Jimin decides to quickly attach the two photos of questions that he has to ask Namjoon before attending to Taehyung’s messages. He absently clicks the last two photos in his gallery and clicks send.

Okay, now to entertain Taehyung while he waits for his turn with Namjoon. He’s about to exit the chat with Namjoon when something catches his attention. The first photo sent doesn’t have a plain white background. It’s definitely not his question paper. Jimin blinks, scrolling up so that the whole photo comes into view.

“Fuck.” The girl sitting beside him shifts her gaze to glare at him but Jimin barely notices. “Fuck no no no, please don’t send. Oh god, please don’t."

Jimin fumbles with his phone. The two grey ticks appear. Jimin collapses back in his seat with a small whimper. Opposite, Taehyung glances up in mild concern.

This can’t be real. Maybe it’s just a bad dream, yeah? Maybe he’s getting so exhausted from math that he’s starting to hallucinate. It can’t be real, right? Jimin nearly jumps in his seat when his phone vibrates again in his hands. A banner notification from Taehyung that says ”what’s wrong chim“ and then ”you scaring me“.

He’s still in the chat with Namjoon. Jimin swallows, throat dry. He blinks hard once, twice. The grey ticks are still there, mocking. Jimin wants to cry.

This is worse than any walk of shame to see his professor. Because right above his picture of his math problem is one of Jimin sitting in a tub, clothes trail on the bathroom floor as he hugs an empty soju bottle. Naked and drunk stupid. And if that isn’t bad enough, it’s most definitely Taehyung’s Snapchat capture because there’s a text banner that Taehyung’s kindly covered his exposed crotch with that reads "AWW LOVERBOY CRYING OVER JOONIE HYUNG”. Jimin doesn’t know if he’s supposed to be thankful for Taehyung salvaging the last bit of his dignity.

Of course Jimin is that dumbass that never switched off the function on WhatsApp that automatically downloads media into his phone. Taehyung had told him once to switch it because “it downloads useless photos and takes up space”, to which Jimin had shrugged and muttered something about having 256GB to spare.

And it’s here to bite him in the ass now. Taehyung was probably sending him proof of blackmail material he has of Jimin’s crush on Namjoon, which Jimin knows Taehyung will never actually use to blackmail him. Except he just had to send it before Jimin got about to sending his math questions and obviously Jimin is the idiot who doesn’t check what he’s sending and just clicks the latest pictures.

The rest is history. History that has Jimin freaking out all over again. Taehyung’s flooding him with messages now, to which Jimin replies with a simple “fuck you” because he can’t take all the blame for his battered pride.

Jimin’s back in his chat with Namjoon, math now forgotten, and still internally panicking when it happens. The grey ticks turn blue. It’s like everything comes to a standstill and Jimin stops breathing. Namjoon read the messages. Namjoon fucking saw the pictures.

It’s like a slap of cold water to his face and Jimin sucks in a sharp breath. He needs to get out of here. Screw study group, he’ll ask for a transfer or just stop attending. He can’t face Namjoon, not now, not ever.

With shaking hands, Jimin grabs his bag, haphazardly stuffing his homework and stationery in.

“Chim,” Taehyung hisses from across the table. Jimin ignores him. He doesn’t have enough focus outside of his panic to actually care. “Jimin, what’s happening?"

Jimin zips his bag up and stands, setting his eyes on the door. He can feel a few curious stares and from the corner of his eye, he sees Taehyung standing to follow him.

With his head down, Jimin makes a beeline for the door, making sure to shut it softly behind him so as not to make a scene. Hurrying down the corridor, Jimin feels dread curling like bile in his throat.

As he rounds the corner, he hears hurried footsteps behind him. It’s probably Taehyung wanting to know what happened. Jimin doesn’t really want to talk about it. The magnitude of the whole situation is catching up with him and all he wants to do is curl up in a corner and drown in self pity.

The footsteps close in, coming to a halt behind him. "Jimin-ssi."

It isn’t Taehyung. Jimin’s breath hitches. Namjoon hyung.

There’s a hand on his shoulder and Jimin turns out of reflex. Their gazes meet and Jimin immediately drops his, shuffling a small step backwards. Namjoon drops his hand to his side.

The corridor is empty. Jimin’s partly glad that no one’s going to witness his death by shame. He doesn’t dare look up at Namjoon.

The silence drags a moment too long and Jimin’s unconsciously starting to shift his weight from feet to feet when Namjoon sighs. Wordlessly, he lifts his phone, tilting it for Jimin to look at.

Jimin chews on his bottom lip hard. Drunk Jimin stares back at him hazy and unabashed. Jimin kind of wants to fling the phone across the hall. He would do it, except it’s Namjoon’s.

"What’s this?” Namjoon says finally.

Jimin pulls at the hem of his shirt, scrunching it up and then letting it go. “I… I sort of sent you my nude by accident?” Internally, he winces at his choice of words. “Oops?” He adds, before his brain catches up and goddammit Park Jimin why can’t you play it off like it isn’t a big deal because it really isn’t.

It shouldn’t be at least.

“Uhm,” Namjoon replies. “Okay.” He lowers the phone slowly. “I… the caption…” Namjoon’s voice trails off.

Jimin closes his eyes. Of course. Why did he expect? Taehyung and his stupid caption. Jimin contemplates lying and pretending that “Joonie hyung” isn’t the one standing right before him. There’s probably a dozen and one people who have the nickname “Joonie”, right? But Jimin is horrible at lying and it always tugs at his conscience.

He takes a deep breath. “I’m sorry,” Jimin starts. “I mean, I was really going to send you my math questions. But Taehyung wanted to blackmail me and I didn’t turn off that auto download and it just sent and like, I had a crush on you since forever but half the school does too and you can’t blame be for appreciating good aesthetics but I don’t even know if you like girls or guys, I’m sorry I’m-”

Jimin breaks off when he feels fingers beneath his chin. He freezes.

“You’re rambling,” Namjoon says mildly. He pushes gently, tilting Jimin’s face up, gaze searching. “Crush on me, huh?” Namjoon’s tone is light, teasing almost. He chuckles softly.

Jimin feels his face heat and he bristles. “I’m sorry I’m such a loser who doesn’t know how to ask his brain and heart to shut the fuck up about you,” he snaps. Dammit that came out all wrong. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to snap-”

“You’re apologizing a whole lot,” Namjoon says, a dimpled smile spreading. “Sorr- I mean…” Jimin wants to facepalm himself.

Namjoon laughs, the sound of it making Jimin’s stomach flip. “Well,” Namjoon shrugs, “If you’re really sorry about it, you could treat me to coffee now.”

Jimin stares dumbly. Coffee, what?

Namjoon awkwardly rubs the nape of his neck. “I mean, if you’re free that is. I haven’t managed to answer your math questions after all, and study group session’s over.”

Right. The math questions, Jimin almost forgot. “Of course, I’ll buy you coffee, Namjoon-ssi."

Namjoon scrunches his nose. "Just hyung will do,” he says, and Jimin feels something warm settle in the pit of his stomach. “Or Joonie hyung if you want,” Namjoon adds, shooting him a grin. “I don’t mind.”

“Please don’t remind me,” Jimin groans. “And can you please delete that photo and pretend you never saw it?” Namjoon shakes his head. Jimin feels himself deflate a little. “Why, hyung? Do you want it for blackmail too?”

“No, of course not!” Namjoon feigns an offended look. “What do you take me for? I just can appreciate good aesthetics.” Then before Jimin can register those words and respond, Namjoon places a hand on the small of Jimin’s back to steer him in the direction of the campus exit. “Come on, it’s a date!”

(They end up talking for hours over coffee and forgetting about tutoring. Jimin later insists that circumstances forced him to visit Namjoon’s apartment on a Saturday to do math while having takeouts, which somehow dragged on into movie night and Jimin crashing at Namjoon’s place.

The rest is history. History that has Jimin calling Namjoon his boyfriend. And no, Taehyung gets zero credit because Jimin’s going to take all of it for himself.)

This is a Bias List. Because I am Biased, and also a Follow Forever. For reasons. Mostly that April hit a milestone and that’s friggin’ amazing in my book.

So I have to start with @darcywho who has been my main and exclusive Darcy since... well actually since I took April from the private rpc into the independent rpc something like four or five years ago. I know Mariah IRL (and will soon be living within easy driving distance of her)-- and basically. Mariah is bombtastic. She’s hella smart and funny, and when I’m having a crappy day (or given how the beginning of this year went, a crappy year) -- she texts me incessantly to talk about what Darcy is doing, and what April and Darcy should be doing, and I have so much character history, and Important Events, and developmental experiences just from talking and writing with Mariah, that I honestly don’t think April would be the character she is, without having had Darcy’s mitigating influence. We’ve just done so much that we’ve reached a point in our friendship and writing relationship where I literally feel as if Mariah could write April, and do her justice and vice versa. If y’all don’t follow her already, you should get on that because seriously, she is the absolute best take on Darcy Lewis that I have ever encountered in the Marvel RPC, and I know the PC rp com is going to jump down my throat for ‘making comparisons’-- but again. THis boo is my main and exclusive Darcy Lewis, also I do whut I want. @scarsearned MANGOOOOO. Okay so funfact; this brat used to have a diff url and we chat on dis/cord and it STILL took me like three days to realize on tumblr they were the same person. I FOLLOW YOU ON FOUR BLOGS MANGO. THis is what you signed up for all those years ago. I’m sorry. SO TO THE POINT! Mango has a bevy of blogs she runs, I met her when she wrote almost exclusively on Rummers here, and what I say ‘met her’ I mean I started sending her asks talking about Brock Rumlow, reread her rules and realized she had a password, at which point we were already talking over Skype, and then I sent in her password and she teased me relentlessly for it. (I deserved it, I’m a total goob)-- Mango is right up there with Mariah in terms of IMPORTANT character development shit. Mango writes a CANON DIVERGENT Brock Rumlow, and has put so much time into developing him, I think Marvel should give her a fuckin’ job. She’s also like... insanely smart. I say this as someone who likes to play at being really intelligent. Mango talks and I feel like I’m back in grade school and I want to hide myself away in shame. So obviously it’s no wonder we ended up shipping. (Actually no, I still have literally no idea how or why THAT happened tbqh I’m a fuckin’ potato) -- but Mango and Mariah go hand in hand because I introduced them and now their Brock and Darcy are inextricably linked forevermore as siblings and it’s fuckin’ A Plus. @russkiyuragan YET ANOTHER PERSON I MET BECAUSE OF MANGO. But also hella quality child of canon OC. Like, legit we started talking because Mango dragged us into a group rp and it turned into us mutuall talking about character development and now basically Seamus is one of April’s smols. Even though he really ISN’T one of hers. She’s basically claimed him as a child who needs mothering and dammit she is going to give him all the mothering ever. Even if he doesn’t need or want it. AND BASICALLY THEY ARE A FUCKING SWEETHEART WHO NEEDS ALL THE FUCKING LOVE because they’re really insanely smart and super sweet and friendly and I heart them. @phxtxn PHIL!!! OKAY SO I MET PHIL IN A CLOSED RPC FOR-FUCKING-EVER AGO. And immediately Genis and April butted heads. (He destroyed like half her office, ruined a couple PRICELESS books and then offered to buy her lunch in apology. Suffice to say April was less than impressed) -- except over the years, they’ve gotten really close. Occasionally Phil and I delve into the divergent canon where April and Genis actually end up romantically involved but it always ends in heartache because April is bad at being happy and Genis is bad at... well.. mitigating April’s more extreme bouts of self-loathing. BUT they are exceptional friends and Phil has a fantastic knack for finding the fun and funny in every situation and driving April absolutely UP A WALL. Phil’s also another rp partner I dragged into the collective with Mariah, because I like it when my writing partners all write together because I’m a spoiled princess. Phil’s a total sweetheart though and his Genis Vell is motherfucking spot on. He’s spent a lot of time with the character and it shows, but he also understands pragmatic, human interactions from a writing sense so it’s always a joy when we write together or chat. @askprofessorx NAAAAYYAA -- Naya’s another of those rpers I sort of. Grew on. Like a fungus. I wooed her with poetry first and then introduced her Charl to April and what I consider to be one of my more beautifully painful plot ideas. It involved time travel and the overhanging possibility of April dying. And because April was from the modern era trying desperately to get back, it was that much more painful when she started developing connections. And basically Naya and I plotted everything out over IMs and asks and now we have the most ridiculous tiny person ship in the history of ridiculous ships and Naya’s Charles is like... the cornerstone of my favorite Charles’s. She’s got this beautiful grasp of our fave telepath’s charming flirtatiousness and paired with the very Serious way he views morality and the world, which combined with April’s general cynicism (and it should be noted, our mutant verse involves April being a touch-telepath who can’t actually touch people without destroying their brains because control? what is that)-- and you have an April experiencing her worst fear. Which is not being in-control of herself. It’s beautiful and Naya is beautiful bean. @iremembereveryonethatleaves AHAHAHA Lilo was the first ‘child’ April ever like. Accidentally adopted. And it happened entirely because of my age of aquarius verse, wherein instead of April seeking out Charles Xavier, she looked for Magneto instead. She found him. And his kid. And I literally have no idea WHY OR HOW April ended up becoming surrogate mom to Lilo since there’s no rational reason for Magneto getting along with April who is a cynical, borderline nihilist with Serious Rage Issues. But-- April and Lilo. Mommy and daughter and just. LITERALLY ALL MY HEART AND LOVE FOR THIS PERSON WHO MADE WRITING MUTANT APRIL FUN AND NOT PAINFUL. Until you (you asshole) made it painful. I still go through our tags to read all th angst, and I didn’t do it half so well as you and Tori did so.. @actually-i-prefer-magneto frick me so apparently I did my mutant crew in a triumvirate. The flipside of the age of aquarius verse, where April found Magneto instead and became part of his Brotherhood. Because who wouldn’t have a need for a hyperpolyglot, with genius level intelligence and touch-telepathy? Magneto knew what he was getting out of the bargain, I just don’t think he expected April Miller. TBQH. Nobody ever expects her which is great, and this basically started as an incredibly painful, probably tragic plot that I had (sort of) intended to result in April’s death and it didn’t go that route. Like. At all. probably because these two babes understand that good angst is hard to come by and with the persistent low-hanging threat of April’s head getting blown off, or even worse, her returning to her own time, it meant that every interaction was always charged with a lowkey kind of desperation and tension. Even when Erik and April got that ‘happy’ ending. It took an actual fucking lifetime to get there. And the best thing about Kristy is that she’s smart as fuck, I seem to surround myself with people who make writing look easy, and whose ability to thread together a long arching plot is so absolutely bafflingly amazing I am often struck stupid. @captain-outoftime AaBbbbYyyyYyy. So like- I met Abby through Mariah. Abby is the Steeb to Mariah’s Darcy. They’re hitched. It’s great. April helped Steve propose to Darcy even though April seems to have a PERPETUAL ISSUE with Steve Rogers that defies all explanation. IDK-- it’s probably something to do with the fact that April is a giant pain the ass and a tiny, fight-y blonde? WTF knows. Steve tolerates April. Abby tolerates me. Abby is a goddess. Beautiful, smart, funny as fuck, and like. Constantly busy. How she manages to balance RL shit with rp is beyond the scope of my ability to grasp yo but she’s the bomb-diggity. @americanasitgets MOTHERFUCKIN’ GABBY! My DC babe. Light of my liiife, fire in my loins, (not really but I was on a roll yo) -- I also met Gabby because of Mariah. And Gabby’s Clark. Gabby’s Clark is made of fucking sunshine okay, and the best part is, is that we’ve had like a sustained rp universe where April harasses Clark and doesnt know he’s superman, WHILE TASH-TRALKING SUPERMAN TO CLARK’S FACE. It’s comedy gold. Poor April. But I love Gabby, because she’s smart as shit and fuckin’ hysterical, and will literally snowball crack scenarios over IM into the wee hours of the morning. Even better, I’ve found someone whose as bad at keeping track of threads as me. (I say, as I eyeball our New Krypton thread that’s been in my drafts folder for like. Six months. Oops). @talonscourt D I KNOW THROUGH MY TIM BLOG-- but who I first met on April and then promptly FORGOT ABOUT because I’m a total dipshit. D writes Jason Todd, April surrogate son. This is a recent development. Tim loves Jason, April loves Jason. D is amazing as Jason. D is like... my platonic lover from Narnia. They’re smart as hell, and incredibly sweet even when I’m shit at keeping in contact because my real life is a hot-fuckin-mess and I’m always sick and on the verge of nuclear collapse. I would be TOTALLY LOST WITHOUT YOU. @galaeus Echo. As written by the ever talented Amy who I’ve known since April’s very first incarnation. Which... is a long ass time, Amy’s seen April through several character developments and rewrites, and has legit known April as a character since like. Legit. Post Tim. When April was a baby. Echo is April’s other southern, raised by a pageant queen biffle. They shoot the shit together, Echo is also legit the only person in existence whose allowed to give April nicknames, or turn April into a diminutive. Amy’s basically like... hands down the reason why i never gave up on writing an Indie female OC, and that’s because Amy’s a boss and she also happens to be a spectacular writer, both in the RPC and in real life. @agentharrisonofshield and last but not least, this girl. Right here. April has like... a bevy of Awesome Girl Squad frands. All of whom are infinitely more talented and bad ass than she is, like. Legit. April’s smart. but in a fight? She’s basically cannon fodder by comparison. She just isn’t built for the field. April and Viv became friends because they got locked in a closet together. I’m not sure HOW that happened, but now they get together and chat in other languages and April feeds her, and basically this s the woman April goes to when she wants someone shot. I literally love all the headcanons we’ve put together and that Agent Harrison is invariably the first ‘shield agent’ April casually mentions outside of Echo, in threads of mine. That’s how you know you’ve found an awesome rp partner and friend. When their own characters start casually infiltrating your threads in the form of namedrops.

That I was that sweet little abstaining high school dame. But… I wasn’t. And the inside betrayal only made the addiction grow. It only made me dig deeper to prove I was fine. But… truth be told, I wasn’t fine. I dug for reinforcements - I RUN, I’m FINE. I’m a marathoner, IM FINE, I’ve had an entire year of PRs, I’m fine, I’m a wonderful mother (as confirmed by many ladies) I’M FINE, I’m FIT, I’m FINE. I have a JOB, I’m fine. People like me, I’M fine. All the while… I’m NOT fine. Me and alcohol, honestly, we’ve never been fine. From my first night of drinking I’ve been a self proclaimed hot mess. My bother in law probably tagged it lost accurately early on… “You don’t know how to just maintain a buzz” I’m sure he didn’t know at the time, but that’s code for an alcoholic… we always want… more. I always needed to take it one step further. That one step honestly never raised a flag. If you asked my best friend, my closest family member or even my sister for the majority of the years - I was FINE. I was actually better than fine. I was the buddy who was always ok. I was ok to drive, I wasn’t sloppy drunk, I could keep my shit together no mattter how many glasses of merlot, or … later in the game … vodka waters I had downed. No matter what… I was fine. Except for … when I wasn’t. Except for when I needed my mom to come talk my off the ledge. Except for when I got home, but wasn’t sure how. Except for when I woke up so hungover that my long run had to be canceled because I “had an upset stomach” all night. This couldn’t be me… it literally couldn’t. I was too holy, I didn’t have any of the signs … my parents were good, we never had a drop of alcohol in our house. My high school years were good, I didn’t even get invited to the “bad” parties because everyone knew I was a “good girl”. My college years were sober, likely saving me from many regretful decisions … And yet … here I am… almost 34 years old and knowing - without a doubt, that somehow alcohol took the upper hand in my life. Alcohol made some decisions that I wish I could deflect, but most of all, knowing that no matter how many years you spend thinking you’ve taken the moral higher ground, things can go wrong. And because of that, and because of so many stories I have left to share, I know that LOVE and acceptance are such an important part of being a human being— and I pray that we can all find those traits somehow. I was told by my car insurance that my car was totaled, and would only be good for parts. It was in a MINOR flood, and I called to have it evaluated. They said water was in the motor, fuse boxes, everything was ruined supposedly. They said if I wanted it back, I would have to give them $2,700 for the car. I said to hell with it, and had to come up with 2,600 to pay off the remaining part of the loan, and then go buy another car. Last year, I seen my car in the next town over. Same vin number, same paint chipped bumper, same fist mark behind the passenger door. I was mad, but blew it off. Then, I seen it on a buy sell trade site and decided to inquire about the details. The guy bought it for $800 and didn't have to fix anything on it except for what I needed to fix before the flood (window regulator, wheel baring, and new tires). He told me he thought I had committed insurance fraud to get a pay out from them. So, I called my old insurance company, and the lady took all my information down and gave me the adjustor's number, the adjustor's supervisor's number, and the fraud department's number. I was delivering fast food for a local takeaway in there car, my car broke last week and my policy covers me for SD&P only, im fully comp and can drive other vehicles, the car i was driving tonight is covered on a personal and business policy with anyone to drive. I didn't know i had to have a different policy to deliver fast food, I only work for them for about 5 hours on the weekend, I am going to take out business cover tomorrow. Will the courts still treat this as driving without insurance (penalty 6-8 points), or would they take in to consideration my situation?""
