How do you feel about mei mei as a character? Lk thought she was a baddie and all (would've hit) but I recently saw 'the' episode evb was talking Abt 😭💀

shes a baddie for sure. but honestly? i don't really care if people like her or hater her. sister/bro trope is not new in japan. ive been watching anime since i was 5 and ive also lived in japan for half a year, no one there bats an eye at it and its in most popular anime to some extent.

i get its weird in american culture for families to be naked around each other. but whole families in asia and various other euro cultures will go to the baths together and bathe at home together. so i dont think mei mei in the bed with her brother was inherently sexual. that said however, i do think she knows how much he looks up to her and admires her. and i do think she manipulates that affection he has for her to her own advantage. but i wouldn't call it grooming like people on tumblr do as grooming is a prep for a sexual relationship. and from what we know about mei mei shes just an all around manipulator indiscriminately. that doesn't make her a good person but that also doesn't mean she has or will SA her brother. i think people are doing the most when it comes to her but 🤷🏾‍♀️.
