was thinking about this for a minute and...

Kenji almost certainly moved to the paraserolphus valley after Brooklynn's death (before that him and Darius were in touch with each other, and would've known if he were staying there). and after she died, he moved to the place that made him think of her, to where he gave a last ditch effort to save his relationship with her.

And Darius and Kenji grieved her in almost the exact same way. They isolated themselves from everyone around them, but drowned themselves in the memory of her. Darius calls her voicemail hundreds of times, Kenji climbs their mountain over and over again, likely the last place he ever saw her alive.
