(first of all huh) is like heartstopper and the summer i turned pretty. girl in neither of those situations are there women and especially lesbians at the forefront i mean yes ik heartstopper but like thats for two seconds. and im annoying and brought up my lesbian media to resounding silence shockingly whatever. and then. this part burned me and insulted me to my core. bc you know how kit connors kind of like a baby butch to me and im so serious sorry like he contains multitudes. and i kinda made a little comment abt that affectionately and she shows me this prettyboy from like whatever fucking show and tried to be like ‘abby just imagine him as a butch’ and i flat out was like im sorry he is Not giving. like that is just an annoying toxic skater niceguy blonde. whatever. like do not ever ever ever disrespect butches like that in front of me ever again. and then shes also just sooooo hyper consumerist and like. she brought up the low committment long distance etc joke from barbie and didnt even know it was from barbie and was like haha need me one of those i guess. i was like girl why would you want someone that disrespects u and ur time and uses u like purposefully. that was meant to poke at how toxic men get away with being to girls in modern dating. want better for yourself!!!!! and then i was sooo fucking stoned from a bong rip having the time of my life doing a little bit with the other friend and our buddy on facetime and she just kept going on about this person shes going on a date with except the other friend was like oh! they use they/them pronouns. and she was like right sorry i keep screwing that up!!!!! and then continued to use he/him. so im mostly non verbal cause shes like exhausting just going on and on and im high but i keep trying to be like. yeah they seem cool. hope it goes well with them. like. i felt like i was being microaggressed not necessarily in that instance just as a lesbian. shes bi but very much not past her internalized misogyny and homophobia. clearly. it’s exhausting!!!! im sorry i cant talk about men for that long and then i try to be excited about my attraction too and u get all funky............. like. ok. or making weird comments alluding to me just being wildly sexual abt women. like. yeah ok sure. for sure thats normal. like. this is also the girl whos a marketing major and uses ai all the time and pisses me off with her hella hyper consumerism grindset mentality bc it’s like she always wants us to comment on how productive she is and if i try to nicely be like You should give yourself a break sometimes too! she’ll be like Yeah haha guess im being a bit self destructive. girl it’s not sillyquirky like!!!! we all have our struggles but you gotta work on getting better abt it... and she also just gives ‘haha what drugs were they on thats so crazy’ about like everything i say or like or whatever and its like babe its really not even that crazy like. u are just so boring and you speak solely through references to memes. but you wont even just bring it up and joke about it in the present moment with your friends like. she spent a while finding a screenshot of a tumblr post that i was like haha yeah i saw that! it’s totally - u know whatever. and was not satisfied until she could prove she like saw it idk u get what i mean like. i understand i literally reblogged the post. its a silly little joke yes i relate. say something true and beautiful. idk. thanks if u read this ig i couldnt tell if my one friend was prompting me today to see if i was annoyed last night bc i thought she might also be too (bc it got so awkward silent with her going on and on abt the date and that fucking show and we were all like yeah. mhm. no for sure yeah. like how do u not get self aware idk) but we’ve all spoken abt this girl like shes some saint and ive just kinda been like haha sure... but i dont want her near my work and art and etc cause shes so shallow and has social media brain disease. she freaked out about twitter being weird now and how she prefers threads perhaps. like u have threads??? ok... it was so hard for me to be nice guys

1 The Prince of Milk by Exurb1a = if you're like me and can't read any mr. gaiman books bc his writing style bores you to death then this might be for you. really fun cosmic horror/ scifi book. there's some gore, lots of death and a character who's been battling constant suicidal thoughts with several suicide attempts under her belt, so pls be careful

2 The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly = it's about the dark and twisted nature of fairytales, plays during WW 2 and covers difficult topics like loss and death. There's also some murdering and sick experimentation going on, like sewing a human's head on an animal's body etc.

3 Prosper's Demon by K. J. Parker = quick and fun read with an interesting take on exorcism and demon handling. loved the main character's interactions with the demons and how he solved his problems in the book lol

4 Afterlove by Tanya Byrne = sweet book about girls falling in love and then unapologetically staying in love for the rest of the book. srsly, they're so sweet :')

5 All of Us Villains by Amanda Foody and Christine Lynn Herman = YA about teenagers killing each other in a blood tournament with an intersting magic system. pretty dark, lots of blood and injuries, actual death and, of course, feelings. funniest straight bait i've seen in a while, promising gay romance (not confirmed yet but it's hinted at and I hope we'll see it come true in the sequel). it's a bit of a pynch situation, just with more murder :)

6 The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern = it was recommended to me as a love letter to literature and it really didn't disappoint. one of my favorite books I've read this year. also gay with lovely characters and a stunning world, but has unfortunately one-dimensional and flat villains. it's literally about being gay and liking books (didn't like the pop culture references at the beginning but thankfully that stops after a few chapters)

7 Bunny by Mona Awad = AHHHHHHHH I LOVED IT SO MUCH. really, really, REALLY fucked up. I srsly don't recommend it if you don't like horror and gore and murder. feral women becoming even more feral, committing some actual atrocities most dark academia books don't dare to mention. the main character is bi. the book even made me tear up at the end bc of how it handles the topic of loneliness and despair

8 If We Were Villains by M. L. Rio = you probably witnessed me losing my mind over this book on twitter when i live-tweeted my reading journey. nothing has changed, i still think about this book daily. it's one of the books i'm gonna draw fanart for once i'm done with all of my exams. i can't put into words how much i love it, it makes up like 60% of my personality by now. oliver and james are the bitches i will still cry about in 30 years. the book has one of my favorite endings of all time tbh

9 The Secret History by Tonna Tartt = We've all read it. It's one of my favorites

10 Piranesi by Susanna Clark = it's one of those books you shouldn't know ANYTHING about when going itt, which makes it hard to recommend bc I refuse to say anything about it. If you like dark academia then maybe give it a try. I loved it a lot. it's weird but has a very special place in my heart. pls don't look up th plot. pls don't. srly

11 Wicker King by Kayla Ancrum = it has a really interestng fantasy concept i wish we would've seen more of. it's about two best friends becoming more and more obsessed with each other while losing themselves in their.... uh.. "game". really felt for them and their desperation to stay together

12 Horseman by Chhristina Henry = a dark retelling of the legend of sleepy hollow with a trans main character who i ADORE and still think about daily. again, lots of death and gruesome, gory scenes. really cool concept. have i mentioned that i love the main character? bc i really love him

13 Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro = if you're interested in scifi that's not a grand and overwhelming space opera than pls give this book a try. it's about AI and the appreciation of life, how do deal with sickness and destiny and loss without losing hope Hope these help a bit. idk why but i prefer reading about unhinged and sad characters in summer. makes me feel good somehow <3 sorry if these are too depressig for you!

hi, im a teenage bi girl and i kinda feel like i dont fit in the community and im scared im faking my sexuality. Before i discovered i was bi i was spending a lot of time on twitter where being queer was seen as something cool and it kinda made it look like being queer is cooler than being straight so i wanted to be queer. so when i first discovered i was bi, i didnt feel bad about it or scared, i was rather excited and the only discomfort and hestitation was the fear that i was faking it to not be a "boring cishet". Rn im living in a very accepting environment, a huge lot of people at my school are openly queer so i dont usually feel like the "odd one out" or face explicit homophobia. And dont get me wrong, i couldnt be more glad that my life has been this much easier that other queers', but i still feel uncomfortable in my sexuality sometimes and i feel like i dont belong in the community but i just feel like the way my life has been so easy makes me not deserve to take up space in the community or talk about my queer experiences. I also constantly get tormented by the intrusive thoughts about not being really queer and just faking it for attention, even though i had a few genuine girl crushes in the past and im currently in a relationship with a girl. Im sorry this was such a chaotic ask but i needed to let it out and your blog feels like a non judgemental safe space

I am so sorry you are going through these struggles but first of all I want you to know that what you are describing is something I have read a hundred, if not thousand times over the years on this blog, and I heard the same thing from people offline. It's a classic case of internalised biphobia that unfortunately a lot of bi people go through one way or another. As a general advice I have this post with some tips and tricks that you can try to "unlearn" these thoughts. Not everything might work for you but just try it and see what helps.

I can guarantee you that nobody just "fakes" their sexuality, especially not "for attention". Think of how much internal stress this is causing you right now. If you were really straight and "just faking it" then you could just stop, right? But the fact that you are so worried that you might not really be queer is in itself a very large hint that you really are queer. A cishet person wouldn't really worry - they are usually totally fine with their sexuality and gender being straight and cis.

Also someone who is straight and "faking it" would have had to make a conscious decision to lie about their sexuality if they wanted to pretend being queer. But what you describe sounds to me like you just realised that you are bi and "decided" to label yourself that way because it is the label that matches you - not because you want to pretend to be something you are not. Nobody brainwashes themselves into being queer because it's "cool". It's much more likely that you started finding queerness "cooler" than straightness because you related to it, because you saw yourself in it, because you are queer. Actually, why were you spending time on "queer twitter" in the first place? Probably because you were drawn to it because that's where you belong.

The "not feeling queer enough" problem is very common amongst bisexuals though because of how invisible we are and how we experience biphobia both from cishet society and from within the queer community sometimes.

And all of those things aside just re-read your own statements in the end, especially "even though i had a few genuine girl crushes in the past" and "im currently in a relationship with a girl".... honey? I'm sorry, but I struggle to find a heterosexual explanation for this. You had crushes on girls and you are literally dating a girl right now. How is that "not queer enough"??? And you know, even if you weren't dating a girl, even if you hadn't even had those crushes and all you knew was that you have the potential to be attracted to multiple genders - that would also be enough to call yourself bisexual. You do not have to prove anything. So please, take a deep breath, and know that you are allowed to call yourself bi and queer. You're not faking anything, you're just discovering yourself.

I think something very interesting could have come from it if fo3 didn't feel so half done. AND i think fo4 with is BoS leg humpy behavior they rEALLY could have pulled from fo3 story but they don't and it feels so week I have so much to say in how they could have done the BoS in fo4 but that's a long rant for another day

My first VERY FIRST COMPLIMENT I'D GIVE THIS MUSICAL ARE HONESTLY THE NARRATOR. They finally gave the narrator a good mic and also they were very calm sounding like the album which I appreciate so much.

The costumes in this are another case of "brown pants white shirt" business with Arimah wearing a very plain robe with a brown sash around the waist. So, same complaints here with that, I wish they'd add a little more so it was some what more appealing to the eye and not so, boring. I did like how everyone had a little something different around their waist though. In part 2 they actually have more color which looks SO MUCH BETTER. The Oracle skirts were really cool and I like the colored wigs of some of the actresses. Also the kings sparkling beard.

Okay now on to the male Nidria. This is not the only gender switch they made with this musical, they also made Barayas, the doctor and O women which was cool. (This cast was clearly like 80% women) I never see O as having one gender really I see O really as like, ya'know a god, people have many interpretations of O. Anyways on too how Nidria being a male feels a little funny, like I don't know the reason and if the reason was to just be different I mean for them, why not? But, it really makes me go....so is Arimah Bi or Gay in this one because the 'hOw did Arimah have kids in the dark' question IS even more CONFUSING now JEJE.

The dancing in this is absolutely laughable I'm sorry. The slider and the lamps looked so funny, and life is looking up was,, what. BUT THAT TALL MAN WITH THE KINGER GOLD STRAINS AROUND HIS WAIST ABSOLUTELY VIBED AND HE WAS MY FAVORITE PART OF THIS WHOLE MUSICAL.

The set was literally an empty ass stage with some paper mache rocks on it. They had bubble machines going backstage and the bubbles didn't get even CLOSE TO THE MIDDLE AND IT LOOKED SO STUPID. also the lamps being these balls with Christmas lights in it and having Arimah just THROW THEM IN THE GROUND AND JUST, SIT STILL ON LOOKS SO FUCKIN FUNNY. IM SORRY THIS SET IS JUST whAT. Like later they still add like columns and plants or something but it looks so empty this stage is huge.

TOba in this is honestly one step closer to my dream Toba. This one clearly takes the same goat/ sayter inspiration from the puppet show that I do but ngl, her costumes the best. The horns look cute, the colors and having more green looks good! Her singing could've been better but she obviously tried and was definitely my favorite actually character. Also I know Toba is angry with Arimah but some people are just SO VIOLENT TO THE POINT THEY SOUND SO DUMB WHEN THEY SING just like kick it down a notch for the sake of this being a musical and you could sing better.

A complaint I have in none of the other productions yet is the TRACK.

At the end Toba the tura they loop the begining of the song for the narrator and it's so obvious it's annoying. Also, they had a part where they slowed down the music during more narration and it sounded TERRIFYING LMAO. Like I get all they have is those tracks to work with but like, LMAOOOO MOM PICK ME UP.

hello! i was wondering if you had any books rec please? cause i’m pretty bored lately and in need of new books to read. so if you could make me some recs (can be fantastic, "real world", mystery, basically everything that is distracting/really good!). it would be awesome if you could 💞✨

illuminae by amie kaufman and jay kristoff so this is a YA sci-fi novel following our protagonists Kady and Ezra after their planet is attacked and the surviving colonists get rescued by another fleet. however, this fleet is not as safe as they hoped, because not only is a deadly plague spreading, but the ships AI is also going rogue. The really cool and exciting aspect of this book is that it’s told through case files-- a.k.a records of chat logs, transcriptions of surveillance footage, the AI coding itself, etc. The format really makes you feel like ur an agent uncovering the mystery alongside our heroes. It’s beautiful (as in like the page spreads but also the story) and fun/funny and fast paced. (it’s also the first in a trilogy and in in the middle of gemina and wow. it’s wild but in a good way. Warning’s that there’s a lot of death and it can be kinda creepy/dark)

the gentleman’s guide to vice and virtue by mackenzie lee this is pretty much like a road trip, friends to lovers, bed sharing, dumbassery au if that au was set in 1700′s with a dash of magical elements. GODDD this books is so funny and beautiful like. phew! We follow our chaotic disaster bi Monty as he goes on a grand tour of europe for a year before he has to get his act together, alongside his intelligent and iconic sister Felicity (who is aro/ace and i believe that’s explored further in a companion novel), and his long time best friend Percy (who is black and disabled) who he just so happens to be like. Super in love with. As a chaotic disaster bi, Monty does a lot of dumbass shit and shenanigans that eventually derails their Grand Tour! (Warning for like period typical homophobia, racism, sexism, and ableism, though i think it’s handled really well and still a fun book).

truly devious by maureen johnson: now this isn’t like. OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS SERIES but i found it to be a really fun YA mystery trilogy (the final book has yet to be released tho)with a great atmosphere/setting. This takes place at Ellingham Academy, a private school that helps exemplary students pursue education that can’t be offered by public schools. Stevie Bell is one of those new students, a girl with a passion for true crime, her favorite unsolved case in particular actually took place at Ellingham Academy. Stevie wants to solve the case of who Truly Devious is-- the person who captured the founder’s wife and daughter in the 1930′s, but while she’s attending, a new crime unfolds. I absolutely loved the setting, and the mystery (though i think it gets more interesting/better done in the second novel). Stevie has anxiety and I really enjoyed how it was written, and her friends are iconic (one of her friends is lesbian and has a nb partner also). The romance is kinda meh but it’s not like unbearable and i liked it a little better in the second novel!

the devouring gray by christine lynn herman: this book has been described as a mix of the raven cycle, stranger things, and riverdale and honestly like. yeah. (though if you’re a trc stan like me don’t expect TRC iconicness, and for the riverdale aspect it’s more of the the things that make the show interesting aka small town with deep secrets, long standing family feuds, etc.) The descendants of the four town founders are in charge of protecting the town from the Gray (aka p much the upside down from stranger things relgnerg), and each family has their own type of power (for instance death or fire, and each descendant has their own special type of power to do with death, etc). This book has some mixed reviews but i would definitely try it out if you’re interested bc i found it to be fun and i think the next books are gonna have a lot of potential. There’s a really nice theme of grief, and also 2 of the mains are bisexual and use actually use that label as well as some other side characters so like. i like that elrkgnerg. 

the sun is also a star by nicoola yoon: okay i realized there were no stand alones except like maybe gentleman’s guide if you don’t wanna read the companion novel erkgnerg sooooo. This is a contemporary novel set in a single day following two povs. Natasha, who’s family is going to be deported to Jamaica that night, so she’s trying to do everything she can to make sure her family can stay; and Daniel, a Korean-American boy who has an interview with a Yale alum, but doesn’t truly want to attend Yale, he wants to become a poet despite the wishes of his family. We follow them as they meet and begin to grow closer and explore topics like the racism both of them face, their beliefs, etc. There’s also chapters from the pov of people the run into throughout the day, like security guards, or the subway driver etc. This book is like p insta-love but as someone who hates insta love i actually thought this was done pretty well and i enjoyed their romance. Mostly because it’s a high-stakes day coming of age type atmosphere, Daniel and Natasha really open up to one another, and they have great chemistry. This book is really beautiful and I finished it in less a day. (also it’s own voices for Natasha’s character)

also i mean im not gonna go hella in depth with these bc they’re super popular and this is already hella long but i will always recommend the raven cycle by maggie steifvater and six of crows duology by leigh bardugo bc like. god i love those books.

she was friends w natia and alvaro from before, but it is akio she becomes closest with the fastest. in some ways, she feels more distant from natia/alvaro bc of how close they are with each other and  bc all of them have known each other for so long while akio is someone she got to know recently: he has no preconceptions about who she used to be, and she has none about him

plus, she and akio relate on many levels: both trans, both gay, both autistic, both theorists, and both loyal to a fault. she finds a real blood brother in akio :D

ok so i have four main ocs! i don’t have a particular story so far, its all very vague tbh, i like romance so there’s romantic elements but i dont really have like. a fantasy story or something like that its just four Girls hanging out ig

okay so i have:

bea (her full name is béatrice for some reason? i cant remember why beatrice but its cute anyway): she’s one of the youngest, shes like 21 (thhey’re all adults its like when you were in middle school and you’d play games and you’d be a cool adult girl? thats it thats me and my ocs). she’s an artist and she takes some art classes but she’s actually not very good at art? she has been training for years but she doesnt really have any techniques or style and people usually dont like her style but she’s really good in the way that? she does fun things when she feels like it, its not always good but it has a lot of feelings into it (i love her)! since she cant make any cash out art she works part time at a local mcdo, she does birthday party and she dresses as a clown and she hates it (she really likes clowns and children and junk food but the job is exhausting). also she’s a weird girl i guess? she’s the “danny devito but lesbian” oc i was talking about (it doesnt make sense but it kind of does)… she’s really inappropriate (she’s not rude thho shes a sweet gal) she doesnt have any filters so she says most of the thing that cross her mind without really thinking? she feels a lot, she has a loooot of emotions so it gets confusing and weird sometimes, she’s a mix of a lot of things! she really like jokes too, she’s a funny girl! she really like comedies and simple things, she still watches d.isney ch/annel like she’ll rarely make an effort to watch a drama! she really hates pretentious content or things that are considered as the top of our society’s culture, she finds those things boring and lifeless …. bea is really funny and she has a lot of emotions and love! 

fahra: i dont? really have that much about fahra to be honest she’s mostly concepts in my head (i still love her i love my vague girl) basically she’s bea’s cousin and she lives with bea and her mom since she was seven; she used to live with her parents in the u.k but both of her parents died in a car accident (i have this really vague idea that maybe her parents were starting to be famous singer so they have this kind of fallen legends aspect? and fahra’s mom is really charming and charismatic! i think fahra was raised around a lot of music and art and fashion and just? her mom’s charming old maghrebi singer aesthetic). she’s very? i used to say that she was fake mean but i think she’s not really fake mean its mostly that she doesnt trust people and she’s just a discreet girl who love judging people; she kind of built walls around her, she’s very afraid that ppl will judge her back! she really like making fun of people but she’s really protective, she loves her friends and the people she cares about; like i said she doesnt trust/open up easily so her entourage is very very important to her. she’s kind of like? a di/sney villain (like cruella? she’s mean but she stays elegant) except she’s a nice person with only good intentions and that most of the time she’s just joking around… she really like fashion (i used to say she was emo and tbh? shes like couture em.o, she definitely used to be e.mo in middle school)… she acts really mysterious and everything, its her thing, she wants people to see her as the protagonist of drama about coming out of age or something… also she really enjoys watching bad movies with bea, they’re really close (basically sisters tbh)…

solange is really cool she’s just a really cool girl? she’s fahra’s best friend and mary’s best friend (mary’s the last oc) which is probably another example of how cool and friendly she is! most people will consider her as an extremely sweet and sincere girl, she’s like? when you were younger and you tried to act super sophisticated like a princess? that’s solange except its not an act and she really acts like that naturally! she’s very princess-ish but she’s not like. just sweet cute boring, she’s very funny; you know tjose people who make jokes and they’re so subtle you’re not sure if its a joke or not? thats solange, her jokes are really absurd (like bea’s, they kind of have that goofy side in common and they both really get along for tht).. she’s really into that full ride or die aesthetic thing like she’ll show up at your birthday wearing pink fur and seven crystal necklace because she felt like it.. also she doesnt know anything abt astrology but she seems like the kind of girl who would so sometimes she just throws fake infos tht she invented abt signs and everyone agrees with her? people trust her easily which is 100% normal since she’s the best girl in the universe but also? shes not fahra’s best friend for nothing, she likes making fun of people too she kind of like messing w/people like just making up lies or acting dumb in front of ppl who dont know her well just to make her closest friend laugh…. back to the fashion thing, in high school she would show up with outfits that dont make any sense and she had terrible tastes but everyone loved her and thought she was the coolest.. she can wear ugly clothes but it’ll look amazing and trendy on her because she knows she’s cute? she has the biggest heart and she has so so so much love for her closest friends

mary has? no idea what’s going ever. she’s that feeling where you leave the house with only two hours of sleep but human and gay gheqsjk… she moved in with solange and her mom during her high school years because her family is awful and abusive. she’s solange’s oldest friend, they’re very, very close and they both trust+love each other so much!!! they know everything about each other and they both get very different when they’re around each other; mary is very shy and she doesnt like talking because she gets easily confused or lost in her thoughts but when she’s with solange she completely lost that anxiety and they both get super loud around each other (power of friendship). she’s a mess to be honest, she doesn’t have passions or anything she’s very lost in her life but she’s not unhappy either she just doesnt know what she’s doing? also she’s very good with others especially with people she cares about, i thinks its her favorite thing, she’s very good at understanding others? its very surprising coming from her but since she spends a lot of her time in her own head and she’s easily distracted she likes to focus on the people she knows to keep ground???? she hates talking but that doesnt mean she’s helpless with human contact, shes probably the best among my ocs…. she has big crush on bea whom she first saw at mc/do while she was wearing her clown outfit.

also i have the solange’s mom and hafidda (bea’s mom) but im too lazy to write a lot abt them but basically i love those cool old lady…. haffidda spends 70% of her time in pajamas no one knows how she gets away with it; shes like homer simp/sons but clever and cooler, she’s always there for young ppl and she’s very open minded..

solange’s mom is super cool, she’s very energetic? she’s the cool aunt except she’s also a mom… she loves to travel, her and solange’s dad used to travel a lot! she also lived on a boat for a while shes really cool… she divorced with solange’s dad when solange was 13 (they get along super great they just didnt felt the Spark anymore) and she has been in a relationship with another old woman (cool old bi woman!!!!!!! i love the moms gfuhdsjkq)..
