Hi guys im sorry to ask but if anyone has anything to spare even if it’s small my friend who I live with’s house is in bad condition from the hurricane right now
We spent a lot of time last night hand carrying hundreds of gallons of water out of the basement and when we woke up today it was a foot - 2ft flooded. We need a pump to get the water out and it’s gonna set us back 400 dollars minimum, and we have to go thru and look how to fix all the electric down there and figure that sum once it’s safe to enter on top of a new wash drier dehumidifier and furnace. If u can’t help that’s ok!! but pls spread, I know there are more important things rn ofc but we live under a man who is kind of terrifying and I just cant rlly deal with that.
#tomatalks#im just so done man. last hurricane made us homeless and I just am so pissed off bc he’s screaming at us like it’s our fault it flooded im#gonna …COMBUST!!

I had a great day for adulting. It’s been so nice being back with my cat. He’s so cuddly and keeps trying to trip me because he’s rubbing on my legs. I slept well last night and for a long tine! I fell out like a half hour after I did my post last night. So like around 9 and then woke up around 9. A little before 9. But it was very much needed. They were inspecting the apartment today because they are probably selling the buildings. So that would happen around 10. And I wanted to take a bath. So first thing I did was take a bath. Shaved, washed hair, face mask, deep condition. I felt good. After I got out I got dressed and had some toast. My apartment manager and 2 men came and llooked at my place and used a laser to do measurements. We talked about my move and stuff. It was all really painless and they were nice. Once they left I finished drying my hair and got ready to leave. I put my wheels back on my bike and made a grocery list. And then I went out. I was going to bike but as soon as I got outside and on it something felt wrong. And then the chain got stuck. So I just took it back to the rack and locked it up. I’d deal with that later. I went and caught the bus. It was chilly out today and I wish I had worn a scarf but I was okay. I went up to five guys for lunch. They had just opened so I was the 11th sale of the day. My food took a while but it was very good. I walked over to the fancy grocery store. I got lots of fruit and bread. Got a piece of cake. Some soups. I will get eggs and stuff at the family dollar later. No point buying it at the fancy place. It’s strange there right now though because their expanding and it’s an active construction site. But it is for sure nicer now that it’s taken over the building next door. I don’t think I’ll still be here once it is done but it’s still nice. I headed out from there and got the bus back. Stopped at CVS for a few things but they failed me and didn’t have like anything I had wanted. So I just got soda and candy. And 2 pairs of socks. Because they were a cute pattern. But then there savings card look up wasn’t working and that annoyed me. But whatever. I got home and made a to do list for stuff that needs to be done before I move. Im sure more will get added but it’s a good list. And I got a lot of it done today. First I called to cancel my Minnesota insurance. Was on hold like a half hour so I cleaned the fridge and put my groceries away. Once I was on the phone with the rep it was very easy. Next I made an electric and gas account for Baltimore. Sceduled my utlitilies. Then I called and changed my renters insurance to start at the new place. Set up an online account for that too. That was almost a half hour on hold because of the hurricanes which I didn’t think about but thats okay I didn’t mind the wait. I also got my new insurance set up in Maryland. I still qualify for state coverage because I barely am making $400 this month. I’ll change it up once I get a real job. Hopefully it’ll coiside with the open market in November. But Its nice I got that all set up. I put my mail on hold for the new place just in case. And I set up autopay for my rent. Im the best adult. I did a little more cleaning. Took out my trash. And at 4 I laid down and rested for a bit. I didn’t sleep but that’s okay. I wasn’t 100% sold on going to ballet. I was tired. But I wanted to go. I wanted to stretch and feel good. I brought my bike back upstairs and tried to fix it. Seemed good. Had some dinner. And headed out. I got just about down the street by the diner when my chain came off. I was pretty upset. I got it back on but it came off again a few blocks later. I googled the closest bike repair and walked there but they had gone out of business. And I was just so upset. The next closest place was a 45 minute walk. I took a few deep breaths and walked to target. I would buy a socket wrench and fix it. Again. Maybe it just hadn’t been right enough. I also picked up the things the cvs hadn’t had. A cheap electric tooth brush. Body wash. Eyeshadow primer. Poof thing. They didn’t have a socket wrench so I got vice grips. Whatever. I had parked my bike down the street so I wouldn’t be in the way. And turned it over to fix. Then this homeless guy, who had watched me unlocked my bike with my key, asked me what I’m doing. And I tell him I’m fixing it. And he starts yelling that I’m stealing the bike. And he starts yelling at people I’m stealing the bike. And I’m like ??? You watched me unlock it! It’s mine!! No one paid him any mind. He was obviously drunk but I was upset. A guy my age asked if I needed help and so he came and started helping me with the bolts which were stuck. And then the honelss guy is right behind me and touching my bike and saying oh it’s just the chain here and he put it back on but it fell off again because there was to much slack and we couldn’t keep fixing it because he kept moving the chain. And this poor nice man who was trying to help is also trying to block the guy and so we switched places. And then the homeless guy says “ well who are you!!” Very accusatory and the nice man said he was just a helpful Minnesotan. And the homeless says he’s from California and blah blah. And i basically yell “well I’m from Philly and you need to get out of my face you are making me uncomfortable and are not helping!” Mind he has been licking his lips and hovering this whole time. He then starts saying it’s cause he’s black and i’m like no it’s because you’re being a creep and I’ve tried to nicely get you to leave and you haven’t taken the clue. Finally he left. I was a bit shaken up. Cut my finger on the bolt that had gotten a bit stripped. But me and the nice man talked for a bit and finished fixing it best we could. We high fived a job well done. And then I headed to ballet. As I was parking my bike, which thankfully made it there, a teen guy told me I was beautiful. And I said thank you. I was still a bit shaken. He asked if he could, marry me and I said no because I was shaken and I told him what happen and he took my hand and said let’s go best him up. And I said nah but you could come to ballet with me and I drug him inside. He said no but he would like my number. I said maybe next week. Same time same day right here. He laughed. It was very cute. He had a nice smile but probably to young for me. And ballet was good. I was sore but it felt good to stretch. And catch up with my friends. I even got to do the class for free because I wrote down everyone’s card numbers. Was basically the teacher assistant for the day so that was cool. Me and Ashlyn bikes home together. There was a big big full moon. At least I think it’s full. I got to pet my neighbors’ dogs and felt good. I had a snack and cuddles Sweetp and sewed my bag. Its been a very full day. I made a to do list for tomorrow. And there is plenty to do. I hope you all sleep well tonight. Be safe. Be kind.

Broken - A short story of Feyre
The night air was cool and crisp as she walked the back ways of Ul’dah, a breeze caressing her face while her thoughts raged like a Hurricane at sea. With her mind elsewhere she didn’t hear the padding of hurried footsteps behind her, nor did she hear or scent the man running for her, until he tripped and face-planted on the ground before her as she turned around. As he fell a blade skittered across the stone towards her.
Feyre looks down at the man, her face carefully blank as she stomps on the blade, her robe softly swishing in the movement against her legs. She crouches down on her haunches and looks at the young male. "I would chose your next words very carefully, boy. Why?" Her voice was soft, yet not weak, as she spoke.
"F-food." He stammers, crawling back a little bit as his desperation turned to utter fear. "My family hasn't eaten in days! My mother and sisters are starving!"
Looking him over, Feyre takes in his scent. Indeed there were some feminine scents, but also the scent of Iron and the coppery tang of blood. All hidden behind the stench of someone who has not bathed in several days at the least.
Finally she spoke again after a moment, "If you are going to hold someone up, do not use a rusted blade such as this. If the rust kills your victim from a cut or stab the authorities will begin hunting for a murderer." His face blanched at that, and despite herself Feyre almost smiled. Almost.
"J-just let me g-go and I'll never bother you again. . ." The young male said meekly. Feyre snorted.
"You lot in the shadows can come out now. With all that armor I can hear you breathing." And indeed, several well armored males stepped out of the shadows around Feyre. She merely stood, taking the knife with a swift motion, and glanced around her as several men began moving into positions around her. The young male began sobbing and asking for forgiveness. She tuned that out.
"How long did'chya know we was waitin'?" One of them spoke up. He was a gangly looking male, extremely dirty and hair a disheveled mess.
"When the large one sat down to rest his feet." The males all looked to the larger male, who flushed and was about to speak up when Feyre continued, "And then you," She pointed to the one that spoke up, "smell so rutting bad that it rubbed off on this boy you have forced to do your work. Yes, he smells. But not the way the mere homeless would. There is a different smell from those that disregard hygiene and those who are unable to bathe." The male bristled at that.
" 'Ey, lady! You not talk tuh 'im li' tha'!" A brute of a man bellowed, stepping towards Feyre. She held out a hand and her staff appeared from the Aether, and with a quick sweep from the end flames shot out before him. He screamed and jumped back. Unharmed, but clearly terrified.
The males all stiffened and the Xeala that was silent before snarled. "Caster bitch! Kill her quick and don't let her speak!" He rushed forward. 'This will be fun." Feyre thinks to herself with a smirk as she spun her staff and slammed the butt into the ground.
Ice formed beneath the Xeala's feet and he slipped. As he did a crystal of Ice formed beneath him where he fell. With a slick sounding crunch, the end portuded from his chest. Wet rasping came from him as he tried to draw several more breaths, before falling silent.
"Sh. . .Sheh kill't 'im." The brute says, then looks to Feyre. He started lumbering towards her and she swore she felt the ground shake at the steps from the massive Roe. Stepping back, Feyre rose her staff with the tip towards the man and fire erupted around him. He began screaming and slapping at himself to put out the fire. When that didn't work he dropped to his face and began rolling. Unfortunately for him, those flames stuck to the very ground he rolled in.
As that didn't work, he got up and started sprinting for Feyre. "Bish!" He bellowed as he dove for the small Miqo'te woman. She made to duck, but in his death throes as he screamed things at her she chose not to hear, Feyre was caught by a hand around her neck. The giant began using the last of his strength to choke her, and the fire clinging to him began to burn at her own skin.
Normally she would try and use ice to cool herself to prevent the burning, almost like a shield, but that's much harder to do when you cant breathe and are already in pain. Suddenly the man goes rigid and lets go of Feyre, a blade jutting out of his neck. And behind him was the scared young male, holding that rusted blade Feyre dropped when the man practically choke slammed her.
The two looked at each other, and Feyre merely nodded as she gasped for breath, coughing and rubbing her throat. "Fackin' 'ell, less get outta here!" A male Lalafell shouted, turning and running. The others followed suit and soon the sound of their clinking armor faded into the distance. The young male moved to Feyre's side and tried to help her up. She simply shrugged him off.
"I can rise on my own." She snapped, slowly doing so. Her legs, neck and arms were burned where the brute held her down at. He shrinked away and Feyre looked at him. Before he could speak she said to him, "Go to your family and get them free. Take a sword from one of them, " Feyre motioned to the bodies of the two. The young male seemed pale as a ghost. "Free your family and leave. Your best hope is to find your way out of the city. Find a small town a days walk from here and find some place to start working. A Blacksmith would be your best bet." She pulls out a coin pouch and hands it to the male, who looks at her in disbelief.
"B-but. . .I can't pay you back!" He cries out, and Feyre scowls at him.
"Did I ask for payment?" She retorts, then turns and begins limping down the path she had already been walking before.
"Why?" The male asks from behind her, still in the same spot she last saw him in. She pauses at the question.
"Because someone once did the same for me. Because my late lover would have done it." With that she keeps walking, and after the sound of the young male grabbing a blade like she instructed, she finds herself alone.
After rounding a corner and she knew she was alone she stops, leaning against the side of what she assumed was a store, and she lets out a long and unsteady breath as she looks up to the sky with a tear falling from her eye.
"This was so much easier with you here." She whispers, more tears falling from her eyes. "I am too broken for this. ." After a bit she takes a few steadying breaths, wipes her eyes clean and hides her face into her mask of boredom and indifference, and begins her walk again.
