Of course there were straight women not having sex at all and identifying as lesbians when that movement was was big in feminist spaces, but it seems obvious to me why bisexual women would love a movement about rejecting men and embracing a "lesbian identity" thats literally what half the bisexual/pansexual girls alive Today are doing. I genuinely don't believe that straight girls in gay relationships outnumbered bi girls in gay relationships at any point on history.

Also in my experience, I've met way more bi women who Want to claim the lesbian/dyke/faggot labels and to be huge participants in "gay culture" than i have met bisexual women who are strongly invested in having a bisexual culture or identity. So i would argue that a huge amount of bi girls Are bonded through their shared homophobic beliefs + actions. Maybe girls like that didn't spearhead political lesbianism, but I can think of no group of women who benefit more from that ideology.
