So… how do we feel about bug foods?
I'm so interested in the topic due to bug harvesting requiring less amount of resources to maintain than cows (cows who also heavily contribute to methane gas production! AND Global Warming)
AAAAA!!! I'm so curious of all the different recipes that can be made with a single product, Cricket Flour. Online people say crickets have a nutty taste to them so making a flour substitute is really interesting and I wonder how different it would taste compared to foods with regular all-purpose flour. It's so frickin' cool! They've made brownies! I'm so curious what they taste like!!!!!!!!
LET ME MAKE CRICKET CAKES
But we don't just stop at crickets!! There's so many bugs used to harvest including larvae, locusts, and mealworms!
Think this is icky? Feel a shiver down your spine at the thought?
Now, shrimp. You know 'em, you might like them, or you may be very allergic to them. I'm here to tell you shrimp is bugs! People are already okay with the concept of eating shrimp, so I can imagine bug foods becoming popular and overall taking a hit the American factory farming industry!
An isopod is a BIG bug so would it taste like a big shrimp?? I'm so eager and curious and super excited to try some bug foods one day and my friend group thinks I'm a little too enthusiastic but I think its so cool???
I really like animals and appreciate all they give to us, we live on this Earth together and if there is a way to decrease harm for everyone I think bug food is at least worth a try. It's very nutritious as well, so I know I would at least get beneficial nutrients
:D
