I love them too! It's amazing how much texture you got into the fur, especially around the face
For the prompts, maybe a marbled polecat in Dandelion?

you sifted throughout the stacked records. your boyfriend, Johnnie, stood next to you, trying to find one of your favorite albums. there was a comfortable silence between the two of you.
he pulled out [album] and handed it to you with a sweet smile. "Look at what I found." he handed it to you and placed a soft kiss on the top of your head.
your jaw dropped as you looked at it in your hands. "you know ive been looking for this album forever! I can't believe you found it,"
"I was so fucking excited whenever I saw it, he responded, turning his attention back to the records.
you smiled, looking at him for a second more before you continued flipping through.
you and Johnnie had planned this date a month in advance. with his busy schedule, it was hard to find time to take you out on a real date. he made you feel loved nonetheless.
the whole afternoon, it'd just be the two of you. there was a picnic blanket in the car, along with a couple of canvases and paint.
Johnnie had been wanting to do the painting trend on tiktok; you switch canvases every 5 minutes or so, and now was finally the chance. excited energy radiated from the both of you. even though you and Johnnie had been dating for over a year now, the honeymoon stage never faded.
you made sure to wear Johnnies favorite outfit of yours. he adored everything you wore. he loved your style in general. he could watch you style outfits for hours, the colors you wore were always so mesmerizing. each time, his stares made you nervous.
you left the shop with two records in hand, which Johnnie had paid for despite your protests.
in the car, Johnnie turned on your shared playlist. it was always so bipolar with your contrasting music tastes, but it was enjoyable anyway. he sang the words to your favorite songs as you did his. you drove to a park right on the outskirts of town.
Johnnie jogged around the car to open the door for you. "thank you, kind sir." you giggled.
"you're welcome, sweetheart." he flashed you a toothy grin.
being 'cringe' with Johnnie was your guys' thing. he loved calling you all of those silly pet names, and you took pride in the fact that you two were the stereotypical 'love bird' couple.
the two of you collected all of the supplied and trudged out into the park.
"im so glad I'm here with you." Johnnie mentioned, holding your one free hand. "it feels like it's been forever since I've gotten to take you on a real date, something other than cuddling and watching a movie with takeout or some shit."
you sighed, taking a step closer to him. "I know. but, it's okay baby." you planted a kiss on his cheek, stumbling over your feet as you tried not to drop the things in your arm. "I love those dates, too."
you laid out the blanket and Johnnie piled all of the painting supplies on top.
Johnnie sat across from you, a love struck look in his eyes that never seemed to leave whenever you were around. he spoke to you about whatever was on his mind: his music, the new Star Wars game, how much he loved your smile. he always found it so easy to talk to you, and you felt the same.
as you squirmed some colors out onto the pallette, you quizzed him on his new music. you practically begged him to show you daily, but he always refused, claiming it'd 'ruin the surprise.' so, as your paintbrush moved gently over the canvas, you gathered whatever information you could about his album (which wasn't very much.) you groaned, making a joke about him cheating on you with his album. you changed the subject, filling him in on co-worker drama. you also asked about how getting his drivers license was going, which he seemed proud to talk about.
finally, the timer went off and you switched paintings. you had painted a night sky, and that was all you had. his beautiful blue eyes were the biggest distraction.
he had illustrated a large, lanky, dead tree. it resembled his shoulder tattoo. you began painting small fairies under the tree as he immediately got back to work, simultaneously talking more in depth about his license.
you updated him on how learning guitar, on his guitar, was going. he gushed about how proud he was, and how he couldn't wait for the two of you to be able to play together. the only reason you hadn't yet was because you wanted to get better before he heard. silence fell between the two of you once more. you listened intently as he hummed, his eyebrows furrowed with concentration. he looked like a painting himself.
you switched off paintings. in your night sky, he had painted a UFO. a goody smile formed on his face whenever he saw your fairies.
he brought up the idea of making a youtube video together. the internet knew you were together, but you kept your relationship private. you had filmed videos with the whol group before, but never just Johnnie. you immediately agreed. word vomit erupted as you told him how excited you were to have two new records for your collection.
you mutually agreed you were ready to go home, seeing as you both were pretty tired and ready to cuddle and watch a movie.
the final painting switch commenced. he had drawn houses in the tree for the fairies, along with where lights strung around it. you had added a cow wearing sunglasses and a tutu under the UFO. you planned to hang both of the paintings up as soon as they were dry.
Johnnie leaned in, placing a long, sensual kiss on your lips. "I love you," he muttered against them with a smile.
you couldn't wait to marry Johnnie someday.

Hey, Akai! How ya doing?
I was planning either to ask you or just say how impressed i am by your art style but there's something that has been sticking in my mind for a while.
I even remember how @indigobackfire talked about that: every art style may be based on some media culture like some shows, magazines, books etc and all that mixes with how artist sees actual things in their imagination. I wonder what your art style may be based on because the way you present it makes it even more special. And for some reason (pls forgive me if that'll sound dumb as hell) I associate your style with crystals and thunder lightning. Colouring, shading and blings make the impression of something precious but fragile and at the same time something powerful and furious ("living with your demon" art? Powerful work!?? MHM).
Anyway, sorry for a super long ask. Have a good day! ♥️
hey witchy, im doing alright and i hope ur doing alright too ❤❤
im glad u like my art djsjdjjsd and oh? well to be fair i never really take the time to reflect what inspired me to form my current art style. I just like semi-realism [more cartoonish side] and painting-like styles as well as pastel tones.
sometimes i like to experiment with the horror/ unsettling type of art [which im failing successfully] but ill practice more LOL
i honestly take most of my inspirations from friends and mutuals, i have a habit of trying to mimic certain styles from my friends artstyles that i like [etc i actually tried to mimic nose style from @scarlettroubles, eye lash style was inspired by @kinarymo, chibi style sometimes from you which is pretty ironic 😂]
and damn you right i actually agree with crystals being associated with my art. I did try to catch the color pallettes of them pastel crystals especially they're just super pretty 😭. I would also associate my art with clouds and sunset/sunrise maybe.
and dww lol im actually glad u asked it took me a while to reply to this cause i had to think through, thanks for the ask!❤❤

PLEASE IM LITERALLY IN LOVE WITH UR SK8 + GENSHIN CROSSOVER SJDNSKD as someone who is also currently hyperfixating on both and loves reki to death this watered all my crops 😭😭💖 if u ever wanna talk about how you came up with these ideas I’d be so so interested 👀👀👀 hope u have a good day/night!
IM SO GLAD I’M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO IS SUFFERING FROM GENSHIN AND SK8 BRAINROT THANK YOU SO MUCH AAAAA
I will gladly!! Tell about the ideas i have in mind when conceptualizing Reki!! I’ll make these posts again once im done with the others but here!!
This is long so! Entire mental gymnastics process of Genshin!Reki will be under the cut :}
Okay so first of all, when i do these kinds of stuff, I actually want to incorporate the characters and such instead of relying on general aesthetics, since it makes it more fun trying to think about the talents and such
When I looked at Reki, I immediately thought he was a sword person, okay in this case i really didnt think of it much, I just can see him using a sword than the other weapon types? So that’s what I went with!
As for his vision, I gave him the Pyro Vision. While it fits his color pallette since Reki is red, It also fits his personality since i noticed a lil pattern going on with vision wielders and how their personalities and background connected with their visions. For pyro visions, they are most often seen as passionate, and courageous even. Reki shows clear love for his skateboarding hobby, as well as drawing and creating them even, he’s clearly motivated and loves it!!
Also I used Mondstadt for his origin because the idea of him being under the land of the God of Freedom felt fitting for his character :0
Anyways, moving on to the talents! I admit they were hell to work with because this was the first time i sat down and actually conceptualized this, but it was fun nonetheless!
I absolutely loves the idea of giving him a support dps kit for his attacks, It pays homage to him giving his support and aid to others while also giving it his all. For Cinder Kicks, I based it off Barbara’s Elemental Skill but instead of healing, it would have given you a temporary atk boost (When you unlocked Talent 2) as well as providing room for elemental reactions to deal more dmg to nearby enemies.
Actually, Cinder Kicks had an alternate name called Cinder Ollie, my friend had told me that it would be funny to add in a skating reference to the name and how it references fucking CindeReki in the soon to be posted drama dvd spinoff and I’m CACKLING at the thought
Okay so moving on to his Elemental Burst, Vitality’s Cogs and Ignition. I decided to give more of the mechanic theme in this burst by turning the area where this burst would be activated to show a huge cog that would spin every 2 seconds to deal pyro aoe dmg to enemies, in a way, this represents Reki’s talent and passion for skating, bright and strong.
Now we’re going to the passives, at first for Reki’s passive 3, i thought about giving him a stamina boost or smth to 10% if he’s present in the party, bUT THEN I REMEMBERED THAT THIS MAN CREATES SKATEBOARDS, FOR PEOPLE TO AID THEM, LIKE HOW HE MADE LANGA HIS OWN CUSTOM SKATEBOARD. That resulted in me finalizing his Passive 3 so that he can a 20% chance of refunding a portion when creating weapon ascension materials since it!! fits so much!!!
Passive 2 on the other hand is based of Sucrose’ passive, I made it so that it caters to adding more atk boost and dmg and it would also reference Reki who wouldnt hesitate to help people huee.
Last Passive is basically the stamina idea i had at first for passive 3, where the party’s speed would be boosted for 10% while stamina consumption would be reduced to 10%. This also gives the same reason to Passive 2 so hueee
Now lastly, his constellation! Arbitrium Motus is basically the latin translation to Determination and Movement, the meaning i had for this constellation is that no matter how you feel like you’re dragged down by others or by yourself, you can still push past those negativity and stand with your own feet to continue moving forward.
kdjfksdjkrj hello that’s the end of it! I’m so glad you wanted to hear me ramble about this because i didnt want to keep bothering the same 2 people of my friend group about it HAHAAHAH
#sk8#sk8 the infinity#genshin impact#meteo-rambles#mmm yes instead of schoolwork i dedicate the rest of my braincells to this crossover#hope you have a good day or night too!! you're valid!!

I originally put this in the tags but it got so long that I decided to just put it here instead:
This is such a difficult vote bc to me these games rank very differently depending on the criteria you put them against. I voted DA2 bc its the game I feel most at home at and also the one I think the most about. I didnt expect to love Hawke as much as I did and that really endeared them towards me. Varric is also an all time favorite guy of mine and I just generally deeply care for this little family of misfits and their bonds to each other.
Playing it however.. I had fun and its a servicable game, dont get me wrong, but I didnt love playing it. I do like that we see some actual art direction and exploration in da2 It has its own visual identity which DAO for all it strengths lacks imo.
I don't even mind that we're restricted to kirkwall. I think limiting a game towards an area can definitely be beneficial. But the game feels rushed and it really shows at times (the same three set pieces to battle some thugs in) I do think da2s combat has a very snappy look to it and feels the best to me in this game (at least animation wise). Especially the Rogue looks super fun jumping and teleporting all over the place (im so glad for mods bc the champions rogue armors color pallette is TERRIBLE). But even combat isnt flawless and I think it took a bit of a hit mechanics wise, at least when it comes to the ability trees. (tbf mechanics are never my speciality so thats all im gonna say about it)
As a whole package however?.... It will always be DAO. Im forever in love with the dwarf commoner origin and the rpg elements are heavy in this game, it's so fun. Theres so much to do and at least for this game it really makes you feel like your choices matter. The replayability is great
The differences between the origins are my favorite part and while I couldnt bring myself to try a different one out yet, its just great that the option is there and it allows for the creation of a variety of characters. It's such a solid base to play around with. The combat in this game feels a bit outdated and clunky to me but its straightforward and it works. (I also think it allows you more freedom to explore different builds? but again thats not something I really dabble in).
I will say; I wish that DAO had a stronger art direction in game. Its very much giving the same old classic fantasy and it just doesnt have a strong visual identity to call its own. I also think the graphics can be rough, a lot of the npcs look the same but honestly I can forgive it plus mods are always an option.
This is also the only DA game where I'm not super mad about how the dwarfs look (they have VERY long arms but I can deal. I exclude DA2 from this discussion tho bc we dont get to create/play as a dwarf in that game and I dont recall seeing any female dwarfs either(?)). There still is some sexual dysmorphism (especially in the concept art lmao) but its not nearly as bad as in DAI (< shudders).
Now.. DAI was my first Dragon Age Game. The glitz of it definitely impressed me back then and its still iconic in some regards.
But it didnt make me fall in love with Dragon Age as a whole. That would only happen once I played DAO and actually understood wtf was going on (years later after I tried playing DAI for the first time).
I think DAI is THE Dragon Age game when it comes to art design. It practically overflows with it. (Dear god the tarot cards aloneeee they're so fucking iconic!!). The visual identity of this game is SO strong and the environments are still super beautiful even now! They look distinct and really showcase the different parts of Dragon Ages world. I love the graphics despite the janky animations and even now i still think the way this game renders skin and certain fabrics is super pretty.
but the world feels super empty at times but there arent any real backgrounds for the Inquisitor (I actually missed the little info blurb for the inky you make gets, the first time around) but the rpg elements have been even more reduced but the races sexual dysmorphism in this game is atrocious (I hate the way the female dwarfs look in this fucking game) but some of the story decisions bloat dragon ages setting as a whole but the hairstyles in this game are soooo ugly. almost all of my Inkys have buzzcuts (< I jest but yeah) etc.. So my ranking of these games heavily depends on the part we base the ranking on. I love good art design and interesting visuals. I know a lot of people hate the out there- over the top fashion design in DAI and when I was younger I used to agree. But now?? HOW FUN! HOW INTERESTING!! I love that I can tell the historical fashion influences! I love how different orlais feels from ferelden! I can tell the people who designed those outfits enjoyed themselves!! And for that alone I will always love DAI. (doesnt help that im just unsure what I want my Inquisitor to be personality wise. Both DAO and DA2 give you such solid bases to build upon)
But I dont love it as much as either DA2 or DAO in a lot of other regards.
DAO is the strongest as a whole experience. DA2s cast is so memorable and beloved. My brain loves to chew on Hawke and their story and its fun how much youre able to interpret into it since its by an unreliable narrator. I also think the rival vs friendly mechanic for your companions was and interesting idea DAI is a beautiful game. I love the graphics and its art. The cast is still lovable but playing it feels like such a big undertaking and I will forever hate what they did to the female dwarfs in this game

the always wonderful shelley @shanheling tagged me to do this thank u so much!! i think that everyone i wanted to tag has already been tagged to do this but if you feel like doing this feel free to consider urself tagged by me!! im putting this under a readmore bc its long and i ramble a lot
the piece i was tagged to explain my process on is this oc piece! unfortunately i have a habit of deleting my original clip studio file once ive finished my art and saved it as a new png file, so i dont have the file to show the sketch and different stages of this piece. but I still can go through my general process and talk about how i did that piece!
1. planning
honestly i think about the art that i want to do a lot, and in this last year or so ive thought about the art i want to do more than ive been able to actually create and finish that art that i want to do. for my planning i tend to do a lot of different thumbnail sketches for the art im thinking of
these are some examples of thumbnails, a lot of times ill do thumbnails just on pencil and paper and with some of these theyre done quickly with my fingers on my phone note function on a day where i was feeling too bad to get up and draw on paper but still wanted to get the thumbnail ideas down. two of these are for the same songxiao piece that i still havent finished and i have more thumbnails digitally on clip studio for the same piece, i do a lot more thumbnails when a piece isnt working the way i want it to and theres times where ill completely scratch a thumbnail or a sketch and start over in order to do more thumbnails because i dont feel happy with some aspect of it.
two of these are small gouche painting thumbnails for two pieces i did maybe a month or so ago, i did the thumbnails and then tried to expand on them digitally and im wanting to do more thumbnail paintings like this in the future because it was fun

for the piece of my oc trio it was based off a series of ask prompts i got for a few different outfit prompt memes i had reblogged, so i based their outfits on the ones in the meme. when im drawing figures i tend to try and get the movement down in the poses when im sketching, i do several rough sketches of the pose before beginning to start setting down lines (if im doing lineart at all because sometimes i dont like doing lineart and do a more lineless painting kind of style). i really try to get my art to convey some kind of emotion, in the oc piece i wanted it to feel fun and like youre seeing three best friends while theyre out on the town having a fun night
2. creating
this is the only real example i have of a piece in the middle of being filled in and created, this piece is one that im really not very happy with & have had lying around for a while and ill probably scrap it and try to come at it from a different perspective at some point. but anyway it still shows what i do, i lay down a kind of neutral gray color underneath my final sketch/lineart if im doing lineart in that piece and then i start picking out the colors that i want for the piece and kind of setting out a pallette for myself. i dont do this color pallette thing 100% of the time but i do it really often, especially if im working on a commission or a larger piece where i know theres going to be a lot of colors or if its a piece where im not sure exactly what color scheme i want so laying out the colors together helps me kind of decide what kind of scheme i want. i am sooooo picky about my colors in my art i am genuinely obsessed with colors in art and there are times where i really have to stop myself from working on something forever just constantly adding more colors or putting little tiny changes and gradients in the colors.
after ive got the colors i want down i tend to try and block out parts of the piece with the base color for that section, and then i start to paint with the colors that i want to go on top of that base color from there.
once im satisfied with the colors/shading/rendering and everything ill go back and look over things and will fix things that look off or sometimes completely redo segments if they dont look right to me. when i was younger and mainly doing digital art using my phone and my fingers i would use a lot of filters and overlays on top of my art once i was done, and honestly im glad to not be doing that anymore because i dont think it made my art look any better. i do color adjustments and sometimes will put on a color overlay or a layer to emphasize the shadows and the light in the piece, but i try to keep those layers to a minimum and like i said before i have a tendency to obsess over the colors and ill spend a good amount of time in the color adjustment tool of clip studio and then ill just decide "actually it looks fine as it is" so yeah!
3. posting
i feel like i dont have a lot to say here gbfm i mean i honestly have a lot of thoughts about the relationship between artists and social media and how social media changes our views on art including our own art and how we can feel like we constantly need to be posting new art and just become content machines churning out new stuff. but ill save that rant for another time. i used to be really concerned about how many notes my art would get when i was younger, and i dont at all blame anyone who still is very concerned about that bc it sucks when u work hard on something youve created and then you dont get a lot of recognition for it, but honestly within the last two years or so i feel like ive begun to have a lot healthier relationship with posting my art. i really just post my art on my art blog, reblog it to my main blog, and then thats that yknow! i do really appreciate any and all support people give me, it means the world to me, but for me having the mentality where i dont need to post all the art i make and i dont need to be posting every day or every week or every month even has been a lot healthier for me because then im not constantly asking myself why didnt this get notes is my art awful??? and yeah i just kind of post it and my brain goes okay were done with that art we gotta make more
ive honestly been struggling a lot with art thru the pandemic and if youre reading this and have been struggling with creating in any way recently or even before the pandemic, please know theres no shame in having trouble creating and it doesnt make you bad at whatever it is u create!
thank you for reading this, feel free to consider urself tagged by me again if u want to do this!! love u all

IDW2
I guess nows a good time to make a little "thoughts about" on the second interation of IDW's Transformers comic now that the first 12 issues have been out for a while.
First things first. I get that this is a new world and it has to set up its premise and rules, but oh my goddamn the first 12 issues are nothing but a long long exposition dump. I hate that aspect. It doesnt help that a lot of the dialogue feels like theres little character and is so almost textbook sounding. Everyone turns into a walking wikipedia article and are talking in a way that only english majors would. God, Nautica is the worst offender of this. I had to re-read so much of her dialogue to get what she was actually saying.
And with Nautica comes another gripe I have: cybertronians actively interacting several organic species. Nautica is somewhat of a specialist on organic life and the rest of Sentinel Prime's crew travel the galaxy and interact with organics. Now the concept itself isnt bad. Organic interaction isnt a negative and can lead to big crazy things like TF Vs Visionaries. But in IDW2's case, I feel like it doesnt go anywhere. Now it may be because I might have missed it in the dialogue somewhere, but I dont think there is any real legit stated reason organics live on cybertron and in cybertronian society. I wouldnt mind coexistence where organics work with cybertronians and get help out with use of alt modes, but thats not happening. The aliens just live in separate areas from cybertronians and dont do anything.
My last issue I have is the art. Now I really hate that I dont like the art. I am just not the biggest fan of Hernandez's work. She draws everyone's face so flat and stoic. The intensity of some situations is no way reflected on peoples faces. Speaking of intensity, WOW is it just me or does the panneling of action scenes feel not that great? Its like it lacks that dynamic feel and makes actiony sitiations feel not as important. And this isnt Hernandez's fault, but the color palletes feel so one-toned to me. Everyone feels like they blend together which is probably on purpose, but as someone used to Lost Light and Optimus Prime with their varied pallettes and striking colors respectively, IDW2 feels lackluster in comparison.
Honestly im just glad things are FINALLY starting to get into gear with issue 13. Im super excited for Megatron's involvement with the Rise to be found out and the full blown Autobot vs Decepticon war breaks out. Could the events of issues 1-12 have been condensed? Yeah definitely, but now that we're past that, its gonna get so much better. Bring on Rung, the cassettes, Constructicons, Wreckers, and everything else in store.
