#im glad S8 feels fresh so far

Started Smallville Season 8 and you can tell how badly the show runners want Clark and Lois together. Like, we're getting dramatic love declarations and it's only episode 5.

Don't get me wrong, they've clearly wanted to do Clois since S4 (apparently DC stopped them from doing so) but now that Lana's gone they're really kicking things into overdrive.

I think I know the problem...

During my nearly 2 years on Tumblr, Ive been hearing a lot of bitching about SPN and how people like the first 5 seasons better and these writers suck and the story sucks blah blah blah,,,, Ive also noticed that most of the bitching comes from the Sam girls and Wincest shippers. And I think many of you, subconsiously (or consciously) just dont like that the brothers are adults now, and how much Sam has changed from the early seasons. Maybe Sam girls just miss early years Sam, cocky, maybe a little snobby, so many visible muscles, rough sex, fresh out of college in torn jeans and hoodies, while learning about his psychic abilities, and have trouble adjusting to the quiet gentleman (but still a badass) who rarely has sex, let alone rough sex, and is content to sit in the bunker studying, than to look for a good time to leave Dean again.  And the wincest shippers may just miss the tough rowdy young boys the show started with, that gave us the feeling hot heavy nights in the back of the Impala making up for the years Sam was away and before when theyd have to sneak away from Dad, and give us today, an old married couple who may have a romantic night between Apocolypses, in the comfort and safety of their Bunker.  Being a Sam girl and also a Wincest shipper, I wondered what the real problem was when I hear so many complaints when I am happier with the newer seasons than the older ones. Now mind you, Im with you all in hating  all the time spent on boring side characters, but as far as Sam and Dean go, I like them more now than I did in the early seasons. I feel like, if the show cut out the side characters, and left the show to be mainly Sam and Dean and little monsters like back in the day, you all would still not like it, simply because the guys are older and Sam has canged so much. Dean has changed some, but not all that much, hes just a little to world worn to be as silly as he used to be.  I had a convo recently with someone who hates the Bunker... I asked why, because I love it, and Im glad the guy have a nice safe place they can sleep at night, and she said because “now they’re never sleeping in the car or crappy motel rooms”  and yet they do still. I mean we dont see them sleeping in the car as much, but we didnt see it all that much back then ether, but they still do, and still hang out in crappy motel rooms. Since S2, theyve always had a home base, back then it was Bobby’s till S7 then they bounced around to cabins till they got the Bunker in S8 So really aside from the boring side characters, have Sam and Dean gotten that boring or have they just gotten older and lost that hot innocence they had back then?
