As a person with a history of eating disorders who is currently overweight, I generally refuse to track calories because it's super triggering but I've had to track everything for medical reasons for the past week and it's been really interesting seeing that in general I average about 1300-1500 calories a day, and that includes snacks. And I am still unable to lose weight.
It's kind of validating honestly, because it's clear that there's just other stuff going on (slow metabolism, autoimmune stuff, etc) and the "calories in/calories out" assholes are just wrong. I knew they were because I've done the research, but it's nice to also have proof irl.
