#THIS IS SOMEHOW SADDER THAN SHYKA ENDING AAAAAAAA#and reiterating. he doesn't die because he has to . areelu stays alive.#it's mostly a matter of again- fear of consequence of betraying the council#(nobody tell him he could probably beat most of them all by sneezing at that point -he can't comprehend it)#and the notion that well. after a certain point in act 5 he's fully fey. meaning if he dies outside the first world it's game over#no pharasma- just oblivion#(from what i understand anyway)#avoiding consequences + a last bout of revenge against areelu by premadeleting any rememnant of her kids soul in one#it just. i don't know. shyka ending has that wonderful sense of cosmic horror and what have you. it's fucked up in a variety of ways#but this here. he just felt scared and remorseful before he even walked into threshold.#he doesn't want to leave his friends behind.
