MGA Anon here!! A new mrs green apple song came out, and tomorrow the MV!! I listened to it, and it really does give a bitter sweet kinda feeling. Fitting for the song title

I also find it so cool that Motoki Ohmori also dabbles into different song styles/culture (aka. Norn did have a feeling of farmland Europe or something) and now this song feels very Southern US with the instruments - it's the violins for me LOL

I can't understand the lyrics but I'm seeing JP comments that were tearing up because of the song, and man. They can't keep writing songs like this, my heart can't take it.

How did you feel about the song? And, since you've been a fan longer than I have (a year and a bit ehe), do you know how they're able to release so many songs like this? It's practically one song a month and an MV, their speed is staggering

Omg it’s ok i’m always happy to talk about mrs because 90% of the time i’m just yelling my feelings into the void that is my priv twt otherwise SLDKFGH

But yeah!! I only just woke up a couple of hours ago but I’ve been so excited to listen to bitter vacances since they first announced it because when i heard the bit they played in the saint oniisan movie trailer i Knew it was a song i was gonna get hooked on and it really didn’t disappoint i’ve been listening to it on repeat since i woke up :’)

I also think it’s cool that he implements music styles from other countries!! I absolutely love norn and watching the recent behind the scenes videos about the recording for the songs on their antenna album, the norn portion where he was learning swedish and the instruments used for the recording had me falling in love with the song all over again 🥹 the southern/country feel in bitter vacances is so fun and i enjoy it a lot LOL

And omg yeah i actually also teared up n started crying a little when i was listening to and reading the lyrics 😭 the song is so upbeat and pop but the lyrics really hit home (the start of the second chorus was like “i want to tell you that it’s not all bad” - 辛いこと (tsurai koto) has a nuance similar to “hard times” (at least to me) and so the lyrics saying they want to tell you it’s not just hard times but there are fun or happy times too, or subtly saying that things will get better, really just got to me sdlfkgh)

There’s also a part in the first verse of the lyrics that mention how other people (it just refers to “that person” but i think it can be taken as others around you) seem to be doing things well and properly in contrast to yourself and not being able to keep up, whether it’s work or school or something else but in a later verse, it mentions how “even that person who seems to be doing well may be hurting somewhere too” and it’s just so real… and at the end of the bridge the lyrics are like “i won’t deny that you have unfun days” but in despite of all the hard times and the overthinking, the song telling you it’s okay to take a break and it’s okay to do something that you like just has me so 😭😭😭 (this is all just my own personal take on the lyrics and the official translation might be a little different but the more i read them the more im just like ohgsfdskgh)

And y’know, i’m pretty sure all fans are also wondering how they produce and release so many songs at such a fast rate, like new mga songs is one thing, but ohmori-san occasionally also writes songs for others in between too (momoiro clover z has a song in their new album that was written by him as well as their song for the slime anime opening song— edit: whoops it was niziu’s new album but momoclo had the anime op song written by him earlier this year), plus there was the studio session live they uploaded recently which they made new arrangements for a handful of their songs (and also had me bawling), plus their lives and tv appearances and the white lounge being in theaters and i really just don’t know how they do it.

I think it was a recent artist comment video for an upcoming tv show they’re gonna be a guest in and they’re gonna perform the song on there along with lilac, but they mentioned that bitter vacances was written in between i think the zenjin live concerts they had back in july of this year. Ohmori-san’s comment about the song where he was like “people these days work too hard! Take a break!” to which fans are like “yeah, YOU (need to take a break) 😭😭” (i can’t remember where it was mentioned but he also mentioned before that even back in phase 1, they released one full album a year to which he was sarcastically like “that’s insane and not good” which is also crazy)

Anyways i am very excited for the mv… i’m probably gonna be listening to this song on repeat for the next month ngl it’s so good sdlkfgh

Madam Faruzan, naturally 0️⃣1️⃣ Hatsune Miku and vocaloids in general were a pretty big part of my adolescence, i discovered their music in early highschool i believe. before that i didnt think synthesized voices could i guess, convey any feelings in the same way a real voice could, but then i heard the song Dear sung by her, composed by 19's Sound Factory and my gosh, it actually made me cry. that song still makes me feel things half my life later, and is still on my phone somewhere. that also led me to dabbling in translation of the lyrics to that song and many others into my native language. though since i was uploading to yt, i got a couple copyright strikes and i got scared of having my channel deleted and losing everything so i stopped. anyhow, thats enough Meiko lore for today 😅

i don’t tend to do angst endings? like even in darker angsty fics i usually twist it so it’s like dubcon happy at the end 🥴🥴 sooo maybe either no grave can hold my body down or can i steal a kiss or two? or even choices made in anger

liiiiiterally any other fic i’ve ever written lmao

not often? BUT i usually do fluff fics and when i started dabbling in darker stuff that’s when i got more hate - specifically on one fic in particular

i’ll always finish my wips bc i can’t stand to see them unfinished,, but it’s been like three years since i first said i was going to write my sci-fi dystopian jaytim fic and im still not past the first paragraph :/

i think i’m good at dialogue and catching accents and nailing personalities pretty quick,,

i’m so fucking slow. if nothing else, watching people write for cod on here has shown me how quick everyone else seems to be able to write :’)

and also with longer fics i’ve gotten into the (bad) habit of leaving out like integral details that i assume the reader will just know bc ive been too in my own head about it all and ive forgotten what i’ve established already; leads to decisions looking like they’ve come out of nowhere or random personality changes

18. thoughts on dialogue in another language?

i’ve attempted it but i have to google translate it so i try to keep it to a minimum and ask for correction in the comments. sometimes i do it italicised but written in english so readers can understand that it’s meant to be another language but dont have to skip to the bottom notes or another tab to understand what’s being said

idk if i’ve got a favourite,, in hindsight a lot of the ones i think about most fondly are the ones that absolutely killed me off when writing so i’ve got real rose tinted glasses about them all. however these are few that should get honourable mentions just because i like them and they didn’t pop up earlier

track and field in elementary/middle school (short distance running and long jump mostly) and parkour starting in uni. oh and i also did ballet till like age 12, to everyone's surprise ←now i literally just look like Some Dude and also have terrible coordination and absolutely no grace✌️

hair, if they have glasses, shirt color. I'm pretty faceblind as well but in high school I used to memorize unfamiliar people by their shoes and that worked pretty well. i could spot Neon Pink Shoes senpai coming from a mile away

thriller: nostalgic, but not in a bad way. may forget about the future sometimes, though. like acoustic covers of things. probably collect something: concert tickets, different cigarettes, pressed flowers. want to be with someone forever, till death do them part.

take over: know a good rhythm when they hear one. favorite character from romeo + juliet is mercutio: all that "star-crossed lovers" shit was too sappy, anyways. like hickeys. may be sad, but they still know how to have a good time.

What inspires you to write so well? And how did you start?

ive sort of always dabbled at writing for fun... like when i was in 3rd grade my teacher used to let me read my stories out loud to the class??? bahahahha they were probably horrendous but my friends thought they were funny and my teacher was super encouraging so i think thats why i thought i was decent at it even though i had no idea what i was doing. then i used to write poems and i got one published which was kinda cool. i went through like an emo stage in high school (who doesnt?) where i wrote a lot of lyrics but im not very musical so that phase didnt last long. i always kept journals because for a hot second i thought i was harriet the spy...except my grandma ALWAYS caught me so i was a terrible spy. and a really messy writer, lol. i always loved to read though, because my mom is a voracious reader and always has a book in her hand so i picked up that habit when i was young and it never left me. but then i went off to college and i was going to major in english, but shifted to something science related (weird), then after that turned into an ~adult~ with a ~job~ and the spark died and i truly hadn’t written anything in 10 or so years. then my mom made a comment asking about if i write anymore and i realized i really hadn’t and i was like hm. that’s interesting. so then i made myself a promise that i’d start again but everything was kind of feeling very flat with my original stuff. THEN katie mcgrath appeared in my life and i was like.... hello, consider me turned on AND inspired. so ive been using fanfic to recreate the writing magic again...and to practice, practice, practice. its easy to focus on different elements of writing and crafting when you don’t necessarily have to develop the characters from scratch. and here we are! i think its just the happiness i get from writing that translates well on the page. im finally going to start dabbling back in my original work soon and that’s very exciting.
