the need to not grieve in the tags on posts that remind me of my parents late dog
#theres this vid of a golden retreiver going around that has an enormous bear face just like she did 🥺#im a small dog person but oh what i wouldnt give for another zoey#incredibly smart dog. not just in intelligence but wisdom. she was just a wise dog#very good at distinguishing people. very good at establishing her boundaries politely lol#also had a gigantic head and thick long neck that was so good for hugging. and she loved hugs#at one point she taught herself to howl instead of bark (she figured out we werent fond of barking since our first dog was always silent)#and so she'd yodel and grumble and howl to get our attention#and she'd join in sometimes when people sang happy birthday#i wish i could have raised a pup alongside her. she would have been the best mentor
