i honestly cannot tell if you’re asking this because you’re curious or because you’re here to shame me about my music habits, but:

nope! i never listen to music when i write. sound is the devil and the existence of it can and will distract me. also music is very overwhelming to me in general and has to be done in a music listening to session and not something casual

that said! i do listen to a certain playlist on loop. you got me, it’s the heathers the musical west end playlist. that’s it. heathers music all the way down <3

(lyrae and i have the jmv and it’s full of really good music i rarely listen to because sound = stress)

now THIS is a good question because i regularly write stuff i would never read. like i hate bodyswaps but i’d never say i would never ever write one. not a big fan of abo yet i have an abo wip.

probably will never write a pregnancy fic, even though i’ve read a few. not my genre there i think

i will never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever [insert that page from a series of unfortunate events] write arranged/forced marriage. i’m not actually a fan of marriage in general and i get eugh vibes from that kind of fic. full body shudders of revulsion. super valid if you like them but i cannot stand them

same goes for fuck or die. or sex pollen*. not happening.

oh, i used to pants everything and now i can go for maybe one chapter without an outline then i need one. the more detailed the better. i am kissing outlines on the mouth

wordpad documents labelled plot.rtf number in the hundreds for me. i have more plot.rtfs than i have actual writing documents. you know how it is

that said i have been known to add parts of the plot on the fly! outlines are there to be amended. it’s not a law it’s brain vomit

posted? 116. unposted? 808 about to turn into 809 when i open a document and put all my thoughts down about ghost hunter harry including snippets. you know how it is

also yeah i indulge every passing idea i have. i write everything down so i do not forget. this is an excellent strategy to find the best ideas and terrible for keeping your wip count down. brainstorm session for the sentence i thought of at 11pm at night and now it has 20k words and counting and i’ve decided not to use the sentence in the actual fic.

also if we’re counting original works i’ve been published for 7 short stories/poems. you’ll never find me so you’ll have to take my word for it

if we include original wips… hm. let’s not think about the number there. it’s quite dizzying.
