I love the gym! It is my sanctuary. There is such a feeling of strength, calm, and desire that I have when I am there I never want to leave. Nine years ago I broke my back in an accident. Every day since then I have to live with pain. Acute pain caused by a slip or a fall. Chronic pain simply there by the nature of my accident. I wake up in pain. I go to sleep in pain. It never ever leaves. But, the one thing that has helped me the most, has lifted my spirits, and now has helped me to reach goals I have is the gym. I am down 91 lbs and still losing. I am thankful to the my heart challenge for educating me on a better way to live. I am thankful for the faith they have had in me. Pengalaman Praktek Mengajar

Day 1 Alhamdulillah, all is well. I am so happy that I can manage my first experience of being an elementary school teacher without any significant mistakes. At first, I was so confused, what kind of lesson that I should deliver. Since I was chosen to be assessed on the first day, I prepared the simple materials of "Sifat Bahan dan Kegunaannya" with a fine RPP (lesson plan). Luckily, I had a chance to observe the class before my show goes on. There were some adjustments in the practices. I did not prepare to make rules at class, later I found out it is important to make rules before you start the lesson. I also learned that by choosing a different way of making a group, students will be interested. I have a strategy to make the students be nice in the classroom. I made them to move and write things down when they observe the materials. Honestly, I did not prepare to give many materials. I was a little bit worry because this week is supposed to be the review week before final exam. I worried that my lesson will not help them that much in preparing for final exam.

Going through the lesson, I found it is difficult for them to understand the material.Then I questioned, how come if I give them harder material? Will they receive it well?

Day 2 It was a disaster. First grade was crazy. I can't handle them properly. What I prepared in the lesson plan faded away. I planned to teach them about "Suku Bangsa di Indonesia" and "Bhinneka Tunggal Ika". However, they did not know about what "Suku Bangsa" is @_@. So, I just gave them a dictation about "Suku Bangsa" and they tried to write what I told. Worse, some of them still can't write, so I have to be patient, re-tell the words, one by one. Later, I brought them to the play field because they want to do PE lesson. The PE's teacher did not come in the morning, so they asked me to do PE time. In the playfield, I can't handle them. They running around and I don't know what should I do :| Luckily, the time is over. Lesson learned for today, do not ever follow what the students want without any preparation. If you want to teach the first grade, you have to be ready with something that makes theim fully attend the lesson. Perhaps story telling with the costume or sing a song that they know will be good :D

I hope some lessons that I gave today can be memorized for a long term and be useful for their life. Amin. #ILoveBeingATeacher
