Q: What's the last book you read that hooked you right from the beginning?. I'm about 75% done with In The Ravenous Dark and I AM OBSESSED! Right from the beginning I was intrigued and the plot thickened as I read more and I've really been enjoying joining the @illumicrate readalong on Discord this month. Swipe to see the beautiful #skull enamel pin that was included in this months #Illumicrate box along with the gorgeous floral sprayed edges. And these bookmarks of the 4 major characters - stunning. I'll have a full review up on the blog once I finish, hopefully by the weekend, but WOW. THIS BOOK. It has blood magic, and undead spirits to guard those with magic (but not in a zombie way - I'm super picky with "undead" things, and thankfully this one is working for me!), a polyamorous m/f/f relationship, non-binary major supporting character, and its basically queer af with magic and blood and death. It's definitely upper YA or adult as there is blood (did I mention that yet?), gore, sex on page, plenty of cursing, some killing, you get the drift. Q: What was the last book you got in the mail?. I've actually had a few of my Waterstones orders arrive recently, but before that, my monthly Illumicrate box arrived with a book I'M SUPER EXCITED TO READ!. The April #Illumicrate box was pretty lit, not gonna lie, I really loved this one. I posted an unboxing video a few posts ago if you wanna see everything up-close, but I also wanted to take a photo for the #IllumicrateApr2021 photo challenge (which I'm behind on, but shhh, its ok.).
