Illu is a failed vessel that has been snatched from the Abyss. They were taken in by a rogue tribe of moths who were known thieves in Hallownest. As such, they never took up wielding a nail, and resorted to being taught magic by the tribe that took them in. They can shift into a Starseeker, albeit an extremely weak one, since all members of the tribe have learned how to shift into a Starseeker as well. I know that the ages of characters in HK are ambiguous, but they're older than the Lost Kin/Broken Vessel, and I headcanon the LK/BV to be in their late-teens, early-twenties, so I'd say Illu is around 28.

Anyways, back to the tribe. You see the remains of it, as it was lost to the Infection, when you near the City of Tears, and that's where Illu is first encountered by Ghost, with the scattered remains of their mentors, infected. Illu then takes up a place in Dirtmouth, and they usually stay there, but you can encounter them in a few other places, such as Deepnest and the Howling Cliffs.

Holding hands is honestly their favourite way to show affection to Grimm, whether it be in a happy, sad or fearful moment, they hold hands with him to say, "I love you, and I'll always be there for you."

Cancer - What’s something about the other that never fails to capture your attention?

One of the things about Grimm that never fails to capture my attention is his colour scheme. It gives off the whole 'ringleader' vibe, and the artstyle gives him a huggable vibe,, just,, i love him. that's as easy as i can put it.

Draco - What are both of you like in times of dire need or stressful situations?

Affection. Lots of affection. Sometimes he cocoons around me, just so he can give the most reassurance possible, and I hold his hand and do the thumb rub thing, since I'm not good with giving affection.

I think that both styles would compliment each other, in their own little way. I can't really describe it, but that's how I percieve it in my mind.

Leo - What’s something either of you have done that’s made the other proud? What about disappointed?

It's whenever I watch the performances that the Troupe puts on. He performs spectacularly, and I'm glad that it makes him happy.

Ursa - How do you comfort each other in times of sadness or anguish? How do you heal each other?

Physical affection is usually the go-to. Whether that be cuddling, hugging, hand-holding, it eases the sadness quite a bit.

Vulpecula - Who is the more vulnerable of the two? Who is the more closed off one? How did you gain each other’s trust?

I'd honestly say me for this one. I stutter every second sentence or so, and I don't like opening up about bad memories. We gained each other's trust by talking to each other a lot, and it's small talk most of the time.
