I still believe that stuff changed drastically behind the scenes with the story. Do you guys remember the cutscene inside the castle, how the castle looked like 100 years ago? Then, puppet Zelda (Ganondorf) is monologuing to Link about whether he misses these old times or whatever. And obviously, watching that cutscene, it was like, "How the hell does he know how Hyrule Castle looked like 100 years ago? Bro was sealed away!"
If the game ever implied (or showed at this point) that Ganondorf was Calamity Ganon in some way, it would make a lot more sense. But we had cutscenes in which even the characters themselves barely referred to or referenced Calamity Ganon. All of us screaming at Zelda when she said that Ganondorf seems evil and its like "Girl that's cause Ganon is in his name!!!" (The character assassination of Zelda must be studied ngl)
How crazy how it would've been if Ganondorf actually KNEW Link and Zelda from 100 years ago due to him using his magic via Calamity Ganon. Ganondorf's alt Ganon form might have been sealed away for 10k years, but finding out that the princess and hero who Rauru told him would stop him would cause him enough strength to wake him up. This would've made Ganondorf a far more threatening villain, he not only killed Queen Sonia. But he would've also killed the Champions and Zelda's father.
