also cause DD (my y/n-sona aka the purple haired shawty in the pic) is very easy to manipulate, like slime.. so Jack can basically get whatever he wants outta her since she's like super sweet but also really dumb and trusting

TMNT: Found Family is a teetle iteration based off of my friends!! I only have the turtles drawn out (and April planned in my head) but!!! I do have some of the basics:

Donnie (He/Her): He's based off of Tomi!! She's 14, the youngest of the four bros. Typically quiet around people (unless she freaks the fuck out) but he yaps A LOT when she's either alone or with her siblings. A lot of people mistake him as a very meek and mild individual, but in reality he's a violent BEAST filled with rage. The #1 hater ever. But overall she's very silly and critter-like...

Leo (He/him): The second youngest, based off of me! I would've made myself Donnie but. Then I'd just be drawing my sona SO... yeah... I decided to go with Leo because the person I relate to the most (after MM Don, ofc) is Rise Leo. For. Various reasons. But yeah. He's a 16 year old shithead who looooves playing pranks and being a smartass. He's academically smart but SUPER dense (a lot of shit goes over his head..), but also somehow extremely cunning and witty. Despite being a ball of unhinged chaos, he still ends up caring for his siblings like a dad because he's also an Anxious Idiot. Oh also he has a severe case of RBF syndrome

Mikey (He/him): I based him off of Val, he's 17 years old and the second oldest. Gay as fuck, I haven't shown his design yet but he's. Literally a walking rainbow (and I mean LITERALLY... wait until you see his scale patterning). Like Leo, he's a little shithead who teams up with the blue boy to prank everyone within a five mile radius. He's also somehow even more insufferable than Leo. It's probably because he's gay (DON HOMOPHOBIC REAL!??11/??!?!??!? /j). Despite being a seemingly fiery ball of energy, he gets pretty quiet with strangers. Actually, ALL of them get quiet with strangers. Autism sibs unite or something idk

Raph (She/They): The oldest of them all, being 18 years old!! She's based off of my beloved nee-chan Phantom. The (appointed) leader of the group, she has a major case of the Eldest Daughter syndrome. She's a very caring figure of them all, but despite seeming mature and calm, she's just as chaotic as the rest of them. She won't hesitate to condone murder (for the right reasons, of course) and doesn't really reprimand any of her brothers for their shenanigans. If anything, she laughs and cheers them on. I mean, as long as no one's getting hurt, it's all good, right??

April (She/Her): April is also 14, standing next to Donnie age-wise. She's based off of Cin.. I haven't developed her as much since I don't have her design down yet, but as far as I've thought, she's a very mischievous creature.. think of Anya's smug little "heh" face. That's basically her entire personality /hj. Despite being a little bitch (/lhaff) she's very sweet and won't hesitate to comfort her friends and family. Best little sister ever <- not biased at all

As for the storyline.... uh... haha um I. Haven't really thought that far?? Ik for a fact Splinter (who I haven't developed in the slightest) finds all four of the turtles individually as time goes on, with Raph being the first, then Donnie, then Mikey, and then finally Leo. That's why my iteration is titled "found family", because they all literally found each other (unintentionally, but still).

i’ve been thinking about making my own splatoon oc/sona, but i want it to be unique, so ive been looking at what other humanoid species exist in splatoon besides inklings and octolings!

so there’s a ton of different ones right?: crabs, anemone, coral, jellyfish, prawns, sharks, urchins, and all other kinds of other mollusks and fish! but can they even participate in turf wars??? can they swim in and absorb ink like inklings and ocotolings can? like ik salmonids have their own ink, but iirc they don’t swim in it or absorb it, just walk over it and use it in their machines? is it even ink that they’re using??

and like turf wars and stuff is a really big cultural thing in the splatoon world! so if the dominant species (cephalopods) could only play, wouldn’t that be unfair? also just not fun :(

idk where i’m going with this… ig id like to imagine maybe there are multiple species that do have their own version of “ink” or ink like substances, like the salmonids do, and they just have to strategize with different play styles during turf wars! i think there’d be more of a challenge that way too! and ig there is inevitably some species that don’t use any kind of “ink” at all, but idk if they would even care about turf wars in the first place…???

does anyone else have any more fleshed out ideas/headcanons? idk i think expanding the world of splatoon beyond its cephalopods is cool

Some lore on my sona :D :

Despite the title of ‘Skelesona’ my technically not a skeleton. More so some sort of parasite controlling a puppet/doll that looks like a skeleton.

Monodrama means ‘a dramatic piece for one performer’ (Nickname "Mono"). Given me saying my skelesona he’s actually more of an oc/mascot he doesn’t fully act like me, he's more so a being I can talk through.

His eyes and the bunny features as well as the horn and tail aren’t actually his own, since he’s a sort of parasite he can consume people/monsters and can gain a feature or two that he can use whenever he wants. E.g. he ate someone who had yellow eyes, giving him yellow eye lights, he ate a rabbit monster gaining bunny features, and he ate a reptilian monster for the horns and tail. (Also it explains my blog name lol)

Does have ecto, but rarely has it active

This blog is just a place for me to shove my Undertale au/Sans au artwork, feel free to send asks or doodle requests in. I have a few undertale ocs too :D

I'm open to answering asks about myself or any au/oc stuff I do, I will try to include doodles whenever I can, so bear with me if I don't answer it quickly. If you sent a doodle request and I don't do it please don't be mad. After all it's free art, I get to choose what I want to draw.

I do utau ships, and have my own sans au that I'm working on. Main utau ship I like is CrossMare (Cross x Nightmare), I enjoy drawing Nightmare a lot so you will see a lot of artwork of him. I tend to go for either fandom versions of characters personalities or my own interpretations of them.

Was born in Fontaine despite being an adeptus, mainly for the fact that his parents feared their child’s safety in Liyue, since it wasn’t safe for mortals and adepti back then in Liyue

He has absolutely no clue about any other adepti and what is deemed normal for adepti, all he is aware of is that he is an Adeptus

^ He has lived among mortals his entire life which might explain why, and the fact he was never near other adepti

His main purpose for being made was to slowly drain karmic dept from the yakshas, it wouldn’t affect him but it would allow the yakshas to survive if his parents actually decided to not leave Liyue

Got abandoned by his biological parents in Fontaine (mostly in fear that Rex Lapis would find out they broke their contract and that he would find them in Fontaine), but then got adopted by the first hydro archon, so he never questioned who his bio parents are

His parents, specifically his mother, wrote a letter to the first hydro archon to ensure that he would be taken care of, as they didn’t want their child to see them suffer to the hands of the Geo Archon if he were to find out that they broke their contract to stay in Liyue

He was absolutely devastated when he found out his mother, the hydro archon, died, and it took him a few (hundred) years to come to terms with it

He does look up to Foçalors as a mother figure, he just never actively admits it in public

He is 2,100 years old

There is a high chance he knows something personal and awful about a lot of people, and will actively use it as blackmail against said person if they plan to try and tell people that he’s not human or anything that has bad intentions towards him or anyone he cares deeply for (familial relationships, friends, etc.)

He assumes a lot of stuff about people, and isn’t that surprised if he’s wrong about it, but he’s always surprised if he’s correct, and it doesn’t help that it’s literally often how he gets his blackmail

On that note: he’s unnaturally observant because of his own paranoia

He laughs at the worst moments; you’re getting threatened by someone? He is laughing. what is he laughing about? He refuses to tell you, so he could just be laughing at you getting threatened, or he’s laughing at something completely unrelated that he saw/remembered

Elliott actively called Xiao the oddest nicknames to his face, and Xiao for some reason never got mad at Elliott for it??? One of the nicknames Elliott has called Xiao to his own face was “Bird Boy”

Elliott, at one point, had to sign a contract with Zhongli so that Xiao could train Elliott on how to use a polearm because Elliott has no clue how to use his signature weapon

On that note: Elliott’s signature weapon is a scythe, he was gifted it by Foçalors, but since he had no clue how to yet use his polearm, he just used a sword he’s kept on him

He views the traveler as “a child he never had”, basically what Elliott thinks what his biological child would look like and the traveler just happens to look similar to his thoughts of his bio child he hasn’t had, so Elliott is just protective of the traveler <3

Elliott has adopted two kids (both ocs based off my pets), the eldest from Mondstadt and the younger from Fontaine, and both of them live in Fontaine now

If given permission from Foçalors, Elliott would be allowed to any mortal, this is often only given to him in the court room, only if Foçalors is bored and wants to watch the person being judged for their crimes (if those crimes are seriously bad) getting chased by her son, Elliott, which is also the only time Elliott is allowed to bring his vision and weapon into the courtroom. Another time he is allowed to kill, this time with or without permission from Foçalors, is if he is in a duel, if the person he is dueling doesn’t surrender, Elliott would kill in that situation

I don’t know how to word this but you know how adepti have those illuminated beast forms/adeptal forms??? Yeah Elliott is a Pallas cat, very small but very fluffy

I don't think I'm exactly qualified to discuss that, so please if someone wants to add something or correct me, go ahead.

Based on my brief research it would seem most Iranians are light-skinned (some probably white too, if you say so, I'm taking your word for it, I genuinely don't know enough about that), but there is a dark-skinned minority as well, so it's not impossible for Jahanshah family to be brown. But it does seem like it was a choice made for diversity points. Especially that their race and the issues they face in regards to it are not properly handled, which just further suggests that it wasn't a well thought-out decision.

CC isn't Persian (Iranian), she was only born in Tehran, but to white American parents. I think Farsi is/was her first language, and I assume she might be well-versed in Iranian/Persian culture etc., but she's NOT Iranian, and she's white.

So I think she really wanted to write about Persian characters, because it's a background she knows well, but also wanted to satisfy fans and finally have a POC as a main character (but one that is obviously "special" thanks to the features that are super rare for POC cough cough), but she didn't care enough to do it well and in a respectful manner.

i just finished chain of gold and oh boy i have a lot of thoughts 

the first one being i thought grace was evil since almost the very beginning and now that ive finished it i know that shes not evil shes just a Terrible person and i know the next book wont come out for another month at least and then id have to wait however long to find it online because chain of gold has been out for nearly a year and i could only find one place to read it but anyway if they dont get that goddamn bracelet off james within the first few chapters i will Lose my mind do you know how infuriating it is do you know how infuriating it is to see the merry thieves and lucie and cordelia think that james doesnt actually love cordelia and is just saving her from being ruined and whatever when hes actually hopelessly in love with her but that fucking bracelet is a bitch and so is grace and i Know her adoptive mother was mean to her and never let her train like a proper shadowhunter and she was oh so lonely in the great big house but I DONT CARE she has been manipulating james since day one and no one has noticed but Maybe magnus and i love magnus and i love matthew and i love that magnus is soft on matthew and that matthew idolizes magnus and its been hinted at like half the book that matthew likes cordelia but the other half hinted that he liked lucie and lucie and james know this apparently and have spoken about it like several times but lucie doesnt like his drinking which is fair but hes always drinking and i dont quite get it like ik he murdered someone or smth but it said he didnt know them so idk why hes so distraught over it i still love him but i dont understand him and on not understanding what was up with thomas like he was really pushing that alistair had changed and he wasnt the boy he used to be at the academy and stuff but when matthew told him the rumor alistair helped spread years ago he was like livid not willing to listen to alistair at all who very obviously regretted it and i know the thieves dont know this but alistair saw the academy as kill or be killed and he chose not to be killed which wasnt a good choice but he didnt see options and i just felt like thomas could understand that if alistair got the chance to explain and im very proud of him for breaking things off with charles charles reminds me of percy weasley in the worst way but i think ali deserves to be happy and i think thomas could be that and i really thought they were getting somewhere and it kinda seemed like a 180 for thomas to see alistair reverted back to that schoolboy also what was that thing about his tattoo when alistair saw it was as if he couldnt bare to look at thomas and i dont get that i also dont get why he didnt want lucie to see when it was first described to us i thought it would be obviously related to alistair which is why he couldnt stand to look at him bc ali was still mixed up with charles but it was literally just a compass rose and ali isnt a blackthorn so like rose-thorn theres none of that going on and it wasnt obviously related to anyone so it wasnt smth lucie could pick up on and like out or smth i dont know i didnt get that also why would sona and elias name their child alistair when their last name is carstairs i feel like thats a bit cruel i mean no wonder he was bullied at the academy hes Stair Stairs its worse than naming your son thomas when his last name is thompson and worse than naming your daughter ashley when her last name is cashley (both of these are unfortunately the actual names of real people i know) and im sure i had other things to say but my mothers been calling me to dinner for the last several minutes so if i think of anything ill reblog with more

so elias is going to make a shocking demand out of james and say some weird stuff to him. what type of shocking demand???? im so curious now. I feel like elias is lowkey working with tatiana and belial. Tatiana is going to convince him that the herondales are evil and to disrupt james and cordelia's marriage to “protect her”. or Belial will whisper false lies to him that will provoke him to seek out revenge. OR ask Elias to carry out his plan and in return he will receive a hefty reward but also cassie mentioned ‘a certain prince of hell’. I found this funny at first bc cassie tryna be secretive but we all know the prince in question is belial BUT wouldn’t cassie just outright say it??? so maybe its not belial. Im thinking its one of the other 3 princes from the prince of hell sketch cassie released

Now look at Azazel. ‘Associated with those who blame falls unfairly’. Elias was accused of leading the shadowhunters into the vampire territory where many were hurt “They are blaming him for the expedition having gone wrong. But it was not his fault. He couldn’t have known-” (pg 31). Even if Elias was drunk while on the expedition, i don’t imagine his intent was a premeditated murder on his fellow warriors. Also ‘He taught mankind and use of weapons, to raise blades against each other’. Isn’t this Tatiana and Belial’s scheme? To steal or forge weapons using adamas that tatiana will have direct access to and strike at nephilim?? Elias is the perfect pawn in their ploy. But since this has to do with Azazel, it could be him not belial. However, It’s worth noting that Belial is the thief of realms and he can take over any realm with ease err maybe not anymore since he’s injured and weak lmao but he will do whatever it takes to accomplish his plan. 

Now onto Sammael. Off subject but sammy seems like a soft boy to me LOL the drawing of him makes him look kind and sweet BUT HE ISN’T SO DON’T BE FOOLED. Sammael is associated with poison. I doubt cassie would create similar plots but Sona is pregnant just like Charlotte was and she’s in a precarious situation with her husband arriving to London, shame and discomfort lingering with him. Some members of the London Enclave seem like bigots and just straight up rude and judgemental folks. Elias would want to reconcile and make reparations with his family and the London Enclave but the whispers and rumours get to him. Before getting the carstairs reputation tarnished, he seeks out a way to atone for his wrongdoings and comes across a poison in guise of a potion and serves it to his family (or maybe only sona) which then renders her ill and causes her to lose the baby OR the baby survives and sona dies. Ik the miscarriage is too similar to what happened to charlotte so my 2 cents is on the latter theory and it also coincides with how cassie said a surprising baby would need to be adopted. Sonas pregnancy was a surprise and although elias would still be alive and Alastair is an adult maybe they aren’t able to take care of her baby sibling?? and im also thinking this will remind matthew and cause him to distant himself from his friends and drink more heavily. EDIT: I also just realized that the antidote rune was shown in the book trailer for choi. An antidote rune to cure poison eh.

Last but not least Mammon (why he looking like james and Alastair’s love child tho). Mammon adores gold and wealth. The carstairs are at stake of losing everything and this is why sona wanted cordelia married of to someone like james bc he’s kinda wealthy and he has a good repute within the enclave. Mammon (or maybe even belial) will bargain/offer Elias gold or money if he does what mammon says. And ofc Elias will be prompted to. Im a little unsure about this one tho bc the Carstairs own Cirenworth Hall which Jem and Tessa are now living in. So clearly they didn’t lose it. Elias brought the house so if he had to forfeit everything he would have lost the house too. Or maybe the theory comes true and the carstairs become hella rich i mean look at kit flexing in those gucci slides lmaooo

(ALSO THIS ENDING IS FROM MY UNDERSTANDING AND YEADCANNONS FOR THE STORY! IT MAY NOT BE EXACTLY ALINED WITH THE CANNON STORYLINE!)

"WAIT!"

A deep feminine voice then spoke before was about to dust Ink.

"LISTEN, EVERYONE! I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING! INK IS A BAD PERSON AND HE SHOULD BE KILLED! BUT LET ME TELL YOU, THAT IS NOT THE REAL INK! THE REAL INK IS MUCH KINDER AND NICE! HE'S JUST BEEN FIGHTING A DEMON FOR SO LONG! AND HE'S LOSING!"

A girl with purple hair, a black halo, a dark purple skirt, two devil horns, one colored white and one colored black, and black shoes then stepped up towards Ink.

"We just need to give him.."

Her hand extended, Ink's old soul in her palm..

"The upper hand for once.."

Ink just looked at her, his fangs pointed. He hissed at her..

"What are you saying?.. The real Ink is dead.."

The demon grinned maliciously..

"He's not dead.. Just tired of fighting.. And decied to keep quiet.."

The demon only giggled.

"Idiot.. You can never bring him back.. Giving me a soul will only make me stronger.."

"Oh really?.. Let's test that theory then!"

She pushed the soul towards the demon, making him absorb it..

The demon paused, then the memories came flooding back.

Ink then looked out at the crowd of people he.. No.. The demon had hurt and toyed with just for kicks..

He buried his face in his scarf.. Sobbing violently..

"You can let him out now.. He's back.. By the way, I'm Luna.. One of the creators from the old multiverse.."

Luna said, getting up from her knees.

"What did you.. Do?.."

Dream asked.

"Well, Ink actually used to have a soul.. And I think when he ripped it, that demon.. Came.. I think it fused with Ink's boredom and need for attention.."

Luna responded, impatiently waiting for them to let out Ink.

"You guys can now meet the real Ink.. The kind, prebby, cheerful, creative yet chaotic one.."

Everyone in the crowd looked confused as ever.

Ink was finally let out, Luna ran to him for a hug.

"YOU'RE BACK!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!"

She sobbed while holding the small skeleton.

"Aha.. I-I'm back.."

He responded, tearing up a little.

"Hey guys so what did you do wit- LUNA?!"

Maxie then came rushing over towards the both of them.

"W-WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?! WHY ARE YOU CUDDLING INK-"

Ink stopped her, only to show his soul..

"I-I'm back.. That.. Thing won't hurt anyone anymore.. N-Not while I'm here.."

Ink gave maxie a weak wink.

Maxie rushed in to hug the old Ink as well.

"What the fuck is going on?.."

Error then asked.

"I have no idea.."

Blue answered, still looking at the cuddling trio..

"HEY EVERYONE! INK'S BACK! THE REAL ONE!"

Luna yelled, and a whole group of creators came over.

She explained that Ink was back, the real one, and they all came in for a group hug.

After a few moments of silence Ink then asked..

"So.. W-What happened to you guys when the old multiverse?.."

"Well.. We stayed the same.. We tried helping you, and the demon because we still thought it was still you.. But that demon couldn't hear us.."

Beatrice then replied.

"After I ripped up my soul.. Something happened.. I was trapped inside my own head, a strange figure then approached me.. Offering me a deal...they said if I gave them the control of my body.. They would give me the old multiverse back, and happiness.. I obliviously accepted, not knowing the hell that demon would put everyone through..

I felt awful when he corrupted Night.. But.. I was also happy af the same time.. First reason was because, he became a father figure! Him and his children are so cute! I'm so happy for him! And, the second reason was because.. I met.. Him.."

Ink looked at Dream. Dream only blushed hardly and looked away. Nightmare smiled at Ink, he now knew this really was the old Ink..

"I fell in love with Dream as I watched.. He's sweet, kind, courageous.. And everything I could want.. I tried to regain control whenever I was around the star sanses.. Or Dream.. Dream and Blue are the greatest allies I could've asked for.. Even though I wasn't in control, Blue and Dream are such great people.. I care about them a lot.. So when I saw Blue getting tortured.. I sobbed so hard.. And.. Dream.. I couldn't even watch when hes was getting tortured and.. you know what.. I just gave up entirely.. On watching.. And trying to help.."

Ink sobbed a little.

"I got little glimpses though.. That's how I knew they hurt almost the entire multiverse, and basically everyone in the crowd.."

edit sorry this post is both long (if the readmore fails i am truly truly sorry) & longwinded im just reflecting and thinking; (another edit: u can probably just read the tl dr and get it)

anyway allow me to spin some very personally based theory here for a mo while i put off/warm my fingers up from the cold in preparation to email my therapist

so growing up i had, i think only, het ships, but i never quite had the ones you were (narratively speaking) “supposed to” have

in most media i recall when i was a kid, there were like, 2 diff structures of character romance plot arcs in media i consumed, there was the main lead and 2 best friends model, where thered be the star of the show who had outside romantic leads and the 2 best friends (who were always a boy and a girl) would have their secondary romance, OR there were ensemble shows where there was a more clear romance set up between the main boy and main girl, then side characters whod pair off in whatever ways ended up happening. in the first, see: hannah montana, the second, see: zoey 101. obv this isnt a hard rule and there were loads of exceptions but like, lets just say i tended not to care for the romances set up for the main girls in the trio models, or quite as hard for the main boy and girl in the ensembles, and in general if there was an obvious romance between two leads i either didnt care or outright hated it

basically i never liked the ships they set up for us in straight media, as a kid (namely, a girl) i liked being that “ew pink!” “i hate valentines day” sort of contrarian, but what i remember actually disliking was the predictability of it, because i clearly still shipped characters, so it wasnt /really/ that i hated romance, per se

looking back on it i think it was probably or at least to a degree more like that i hated the hetero expectation of it- i can nit pick down to more specific examples of why i disliked the main pairings (kataang, for example, i thought was weird bc katara acted like a mother/older sister figure to aang, and i didnt feel like there was romance between them at all except where it felt shoehorned in) - maybe it was also that i thought it made more sense for a main character to be with someone they clearly already spent a lot of time with and not some random new hot boy in town (i very distinctly remember shipping miley and oliver on hannah montana, and i believe that was the first time i ever read fanfiction @ age like... 11 lol) as is often the case w like these things.

theres another level to this though, which is that i notice i tended to ship characters who were more vaguely similar to each other, like, physically (ie, similar heights, or hair colors mainly) obviously this is funny now since my main pairing is johnlock which is such a physically different ship we can construct them from basic shapes and colors and theyre still recognizable as who they are, but i have some thoughts about this- but i think there might be two interesting things about this again in retrospect

first of all, this sounds silly ik, but shipping the vaguely similar ones as a child’s way of queering heterosexuality is an interesting concept and not that difficult, like, two boys are also vaguely similar to each other in a similar way a boy and a girl with the same hair color and height might be, which is something i thought of a while ago

the other way in which this is really interesting to me now, that i think might have been more actually pertinent to myself as a trans child, is that i think i shipped the characters i did in an attempt to morph the concept of boy and girl? to find the boy counterpart to every girl??? that second one makes more sense actually. anyway, i digress

2 start off i definitely had gender feelings starting from a very young age so i think these observations ring more true than just reflections, PERHAPS

so the first thing i remember shipping, ie wanting them to be together, thinking about it an inordinate amount of time outside watching the films, even imagining them eating ice cream together in their pjs (i was NINE DHFJGghfkg) was jack sparrow & elizabeth swan from potc (basically my franchise of choice as a kid bc i never read harry potter) now this doesnt quite fit the “visually similar” thing bc actually orlando bloom looks more like kiera knightly and is prob due to them like making out in one movie, but i think this works for the “shipping as gender expression” theory, because elizabeth swan dressed up as a boy, spent most of that movie wearing boy’s clothes, etc- meanwhile jack was a wacky pirate which like hello duh i’d want to be. so i wonder if beyond the fact that they kissed and flirted, there was something to this concept of me wanting two characters to be together, meant i wanted to marry together two conceptual things happening with two characters, or absorb the cool dude and the boyish girl characters into each other to make one whole archetype for myself? i likewise shipped aang and toph (toph who, normally doesnt really have anyone to be shipped with, since she likes sokka but he has a gf) who we all know is the VERY boyish girl character, so boyish im p sure her actually being a trans dude later in life is a p decently accepted headcanon (i dont actually delve into aatla fandom though so i can only hope) 

another thing about this ship thing, is most of my ships had brown hair (like miley and oliver), just like i always have, and in certain cases the girl character would look a LOT like me (i also shipped logan and quinn on zoey 101, which to my surprise n delight actually came true later (although looking back im like... 11 yr old me is glad they made out a lot but adult me is like uhhh why were the kids on this show making out a lot? anyway thats another issue) and i def was a weirdo girl with glasses and long brown wavy hair) which sort of further fuels my feeling that this was an attempt by my brain to do 1 of 2 things, if my own involvement really was a greater motivating factor in this thing, 1. ship MYSELF with a boy (which is like def possible for my gay kinnie ass, but not quite my thesis here) or 2. morph these boy and girl counterparts by imagining them together, seeing them together, etc

for example, i realize now, when i was a kid i drew an avatar sona for myself and said sona looked an awful lot like how id imagine a katara/zuko fusion would be, and the fact that i shipped zutara (very hard lol) was what lead me down this thought path rn

i feel like even to me this concept sounds weird and far fetched but like, gem fusion made enough sense for someone to write with its clearly, usually, romantic implications and we all “get” that, so whom knows???

another thing ive noticed while writing this is for a good few of these ships you can argue the boys in them can be read gay, like jack sparrow and zuko and aang, which feels even more strongly like me trying to marry my gay boy feelings to my tomboy realities [thinking emoji]

the biggest reason i think this makes sense to me is because when i was 10 i became obsessed with the idea that this boy i was friends with and i were secretly twins separated at birth, like i was so into the concept that we looked alike, i like hoped and wished so hard for it to be true, i wished a christmas miracle would happen for fucking real and a magic door in my house would open and be his new room and itd all work out perfectly! and you might think this was a manifestation of my difficulties with my family and wishing to leave it, but in my dream world my parents were still my parents and he came to live with us- which makes me think the obsession of ME looking like this BOY was a manifestation of my gender feelings, which i think can maybe be traced to this concept of pairing a visually similar, possibly gay, brunette boy to every brunette and/or tomboyish girl

anyway. if you actually read all of this id love it if you lmk somehow (doesnt need to be a like) like this is clearly very long and strange but i hope it makes sense. i think i stop myself a lot from ever commenting on gender or theory or whatever but i am a living breathing trans person who has experienced things and i have opinions and i dont think im claiming anything destructive with this lol i think its not unusual to reflect on the way you interacted with the world as a gay/trans kid

also im obviously not saying that shipping straight things is somehow inherently queer, im not trying to retroactively claim something about straight ships, like, those two characters are still functionally straight, and i definitely also shipped probably all of them for normal shipping reasons (although, kid ones, so less “oh theres a lot of ACTUAL romantic subtext between these two” but rather “oh theyre friends and would be cute together!” (or like they kissed and i was like O: )) but im just trying to theorize about something its possible my tiny trans brain was trying to express- and who knows maybe im not the only one!

anyway i guess the TL;DR is: when i was a kid i had a lot of “unconventional” straight ships- i already observed that i eschewed the main canon pairings in kids media in what was probably my tiny baby brains rejection of hetero culture, but i also actively shipped side characters who looked like me, and also looked like each other (ie, both tall and brunette, a boy and girl counterpart of Each Other) OR characters who seemed to be a gayish boy and a tomboyish girl, and im theorizing that maybe the reason that was was my tiny trans brain wanting to gem fusion those two together because of my Gender Feelings and fuse the boy with the girl and this desire manifested in shipping therefore thinking about a lot these pairings of boy and girl counterparts
