im critically out of the loop what's with the wukong game if u don't mind my asking?

the devs are misogynistic and have explicitly said they do not want women playing their game, and that women shouldn't play games like wukong, that action games, fighting games, etc, are not for women, and women should focus on getting pretty jewelry instead. they were exposed for having extremely sexual posters up in their office (like masturbation posters) and that women who work for them are treated like dogshit and are pretty much only there to be looked at. there's also just been a bunch of really weird gross comments from the devs, like how female characters in games should only exist to jerk off to.

chinese women attempted to boycott the game and were extremely vocal about being against the game and the studio, but were mostly ignored.

this all came out when IGN made a massive article about it. it's absolutely full of sources and translations.
