It was the end of spring when her peace was disturbed.

It wasn't anything out of the ordinary, at first — she has arrived back to Ishgard, same as what she does now and again. She was on her way to greet the Knights in the barracks, before passing through the Brume to just give her monthly check-in that she is alive and well. However, she was stopped by a very hurried courier.

She was, apparently, anticipated. Someone paid a handsome sum of money to seek her out the moment anyone catches wind of her presence in the city. Rinji's puzzled look betrayed her mind - who needs something from her this badly? It never ends well. And in a way, it still didn't.

She was handed a rather large, elongated package, with a neatly folded letter attached to the wrapping. On it, her name was written — Ser Rinji Teweront. Rinji glared at the writing, for so long that the courier started feeling rather awkward about asking for his fee. Her confusion quickly turned into anger, as she almost wanted to slam this package back at the courier — for it wasn't just the fact that name signed was one of the deepest insults one could do to her — no, in addition to that, she recognized the handwriting.

Still, the poor worker had to be paid his due, and so he was. Leaving Rinji in a hurry, the latter was left with a package and a mail, neither of which she wanted to open. Still, she hurried into her private chambers, skipping the hello's and how are you's, tearing apart the wrapping, and being absolutely dumbfounded upon seeing its contents.

Two beautiful swords looked at her back. Their pristine steel looked at her, mirroring her confused eyes, their edges becoming jagged with a slight curve in the middle to catch others' blades. The hilts were thin and long enough, with a beautiful red gem adorned into each of them — Rinji looked upon the blade upon her side, where the very same gem rested upon it. A spell focus. She began frantically prying the letter open.

It's not like the blades weren't good — in fact, they were tailor made for her. But that in itself is the problem — who made these? Why do they know about her combat style so much? What do they want from her in return? Unfortunately, she finds rather disappointing answers to it all.

"To my dear sister," began the letter, as Rinji could feel her heart sink. "…I must, first things first, apologise for how you will find this letter. Understand that I remember your adamant requests, but understand that your name should also be found across the many people of Ishgard — and knowing your rare visits, I must ensure that I narrow the search as much as possible.

I suppose I should preface it with the fact that our father has finally succumbed to his wounds. Earlier than predicted, yes, but I don't think he was properly living his last year anyway. I would have invited you to his funeral, but I'm fairly sure you'd refuse. It was hard being there completely alone, though. It is my deepest woe that you could never resolve your conflict even as he laid on his deathbed. However, what's done is done, and now I am a Lord in full capacity."

"You may remember the room of our late mother. I could never have found any use for it, and so I ended up selling all of it. Please continue reading before you get angry again. You have not taken even a single thing to honor her memory. And so, with the gil I got from selling Mother's belongings, I got you something that won't have her tainted spirit on it."

Rinji looked upon the blades with a new sense of horror within her, before she continued reading.

"It was tough getting you something you don't already have. I had to ask around the Knights that served with you. Most are reluctant to even speak to me. Just what do you tell them about me, Rinji? Either way, I learned that you still know your spears, you still know how to cast spells and, of course, that swordsmanship is still your primary way of fighting."

"So I set out to do something that will represent our ever benevolent Mother — something that combined all of it, all of that which has been given to you through her kindness, into a weapon. I came upon a smith, who gave me a brilliant idea. These blades' design is native originally to Tural, believe it or not. They can shift between being separate weapons or becoming a twinblade — a sort of polearm. But do touch the metal — you will notice what's different about it."

She instinctively touches the blades, and she immediately knows — the flow of aether, suddenly so light and tantalising, focuses itself within the metal, begging to be used. Rinji gasped quietly — aether-conductive steel.

"It took almost a fortune to craft these. Now, my House has to count every penny with our current situation, but I was determined to save all of these funds, as Mother would have wanted something to give you from us. I know you hold no love for our family, but I still believe it's not too late yet to change it — especially since it's only me and you now."

"Which is why I'm still offering you again — please come to me and let's talk. We can reinstate you as a member of our House again. We can rebuild our home again. We can still be a brother and sister. I need you."

"But until then, carry these for me. For all of us. Let them be a mark of our repairing friendship."

Rinji stared first at the letter, then at the blades. Inside her, there was a storm of thoughts. Does she accept it? She doesn't want to — these are made as a token from a family she doesn't want to do anything with. Her brother made these as a gesture from their late Mother, even though the latter is four years into the grave. Rinji feels disgusted at the mere thought of forgiving the woman — for throwing her out when she did, for all the humiliation she caused her, and for ever being at her Father's side.

But still… She feels reluctant to let go of these blades. She can tell the craftsmanship behind them. And the fact that it's such a versatile weapon is alluring, too. And with all that said, she does feel the sting of guilt for throwing away such a gift when she knows what it cost Leon to make these. She knows it wasn't easy for him to let go of that money, with the awful state of their ruined House. And she knows how much it would hurt him to discard it.

Still… Is accepting these worth it? Would it prove, in Leon's mind, that she wants to maintain a relationship with him? Does she want others to know? She has gone through such pains to distance herself from her family — does she really want to make all that work go to waste?

Rinji looked into the mirror out of habit. Her face was, unsurprisingly, quite distressed. She adjusts her loose hair, to not get into her eyes, and looks at their length. They have grown out quite a bit, haven't they? Normally, she would have never allowed this. The mere thought of being Alyssa again struck fear into her. And yet… Ever since she decided to try not cutting it, it felt somewhat freeing. She is who she is, and she's still nothing that father wanted her to be.

She looked at the blades and raised one of them to inspect it. That is when she noticed a small engraving upon one of the hilts:

"To a Faithful Knight, to a Loyal Soldier, and to my Dear Sister."

Rinji frowned. She took a few of her cloth straps, and wrapped it around both of the blades. Yes, now she can truly wield them with pride.

It was a sunny day in Konoha. You were peacefully minding your own business drawing in your room since there's no missions which means its a day off for you and the team.

As you were drawing you heard a knock at your door, you put on a hat to hide your bunny ears and rushed downstairs. The atmosphere went from a house to a mochi and sweets shop because your house is connected to the shop that your family owns. You were a little confused why is there a customer today, the shop is always closed on Sundays.

You opened the door thinking it was a customer but it was actually the rest of team 7. You forgot that you were supposed to have a picnic with them. Your ears perked up which cause your hat to lift up a little. Naruto and Sakura gave you a huge hug while Sasuke just stand with his arms crossed looking at you. You looked at him with a confused face and he chuckled under his breath.

''(M/n) chan ! Are you ready to go on a picnic we planned last week ?'' Sakura asked with a huge smile on her face. You nodded in return, ''Yep !'' You responded with a smile as you patted both Sakura and Naruto's head.

''Please wait for a moment!'' You rushed back in, leaving the trio confused but that confusion turned into joy and excitement when they saw what you came back with.

''Here !'' You made a drawing and a candy for each of them but you didn't make a candy for Sasuke because he's not really a fan of sweets so you made him his favourite snack, onigiri with a side of fish and tomato.

You saw his face lit up a little and it soon went back to his usual expressionless face.

Naruto and Sakura was crying tears of happiness. ''(M/n) chan.... WE LOVE YOU !!!'' they said in unison as they pulled you in a tight hug.

''Its nothing... lets get going now !'' You gripped your picnic basket tightly before heading to the picnic's destination.

The four of you walked together, you in between Sakura and Naruto, Sasuke is beside Naruto.

As you three were walking Naruto decided to ask you something.

''Hey, (m/n) chan, why do you always wear a hat ?'' He asked while walking. ''Does it look bad ?'' You asked him with a pout. ''N-no it doesn't! I'm just curious why.'' He responded as quickly as he can when he saw you pout.

''Well... I dont have any reason to do so..'' You lied. ''If you dont have any reason then... can you take it off ? I'm curious'' Sakura said as Naruto nodded. ''I'm curious aswell.'' Sasuke stated which surprised You, Sakura and Naruto.

''W..well I promise its nothing, I just think hats are nice !'' You said, nervously. ''Guys, lets just leave (m/n) and his hat alone. Plus we're already here.'' Sakura said with a sigh as she was pointing to our final destination.

The four of you sprint to the spot and properly set ul the picnic.

You guys are sitting under a Cherry Blossom Tree because its pretty.

The four of you enjoyed the picnic, Sakura and you were happily conversing over food while Naruto and Sasuke were just bickering about who can eat the fastest.

Naruto stopped bickering with Sasuke for a moment which left Sasuke a little confused. He thought of something mischievous to take off (M/n)'s hat.

He sneakly climbed up the tree and prayed to Kami he doesnt die doing it. After he properly positioned himself, he’s said under his breath that he’s going to launch at (M/n) Sasuke looked at him confused.

When he finally launched himself, you noticed Naruto's shadow and since you didnt have much time to react his body fell on you, your hat fell off causing your bunny ears to spring out.

Sakura and Sasuke was shocked about what Naruto did. Sakura, as fast as possible made sure you’re alright and gave Naruto a whack on the head for potentially hurting you.

You watched the two, completely ignoring Sasuke who was right beside you.

“Bunny ears huh?” He said in his monotone voice as he tried touching it. You squirmed and your face went red when he tried touching your ears. That’s when you realized that your bunny ears are completely exposed. Sakura and Naruto heard your squirm then looked at you and Sasuke.

Their faces lit up when they saw you.

“B-BUNNY EARS ?!?!” Sakura and Naruto said in unison. They ran to you gave you a big hug which flustered you. “You’re so adorable (M/n) !!” Naruto said energetically. “Un ! Un! Why did you hide them (M/n)? You’re literally so cute !” Sakura agreed with Naruto for once (joking joking ww)

“W-well I thought that it’ll creep you guys out-“ You expressed. “WHAT ?!?!” They shouted which made you curl up your ears. “Why would we be creeped out ? We literally have Naruto here, you’re the last thing that’ll creep us out.” Sasuke stated as an irk mark appeared on Naruto. “YOU !!!” Naruto shouted. “What is it loser.” Sasuke replied which cause Naruto to get even more mad.

“Those two will never stop bickering will they ?” Sakura sighed as she puts her arms on your shoulder. “Mhm, at least our group is quite lively” You chuckled.

“(M/n)” Sakura sternly said your name which caused you to look at her. “if anyone bullies you for your bunny ears remember that me, Sasuke and Naruto will always be by your side to defend you!” Sakura stated as she puts her hands on your shoulders , you nodded at her statement. “Thank you Sakura” You responded as you gave her your signature closed eye smile.

Solo A Star Wars Story

**SPOILERS AHEAD**

Solo A Star Wars Story was written by Lawrence Kasdan who wrote The Force Awakens and The Empire Strikes Back alongside his son Jonathan Kasdan. The film famously went through major production issues including losing the directors Phil Lord & Christopher Miller.. There were so many problems and so many reshoots that people immediately thought that this movie was going to fail.

Ron Howard came in and saved the day, he took over as director.

The film stars Alden Ehrenreich as the iconic Han Solo, as well as Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian.. we have new characters too played by Woody Harrelson, Emelie Clark, Thandie Newton and Paul Bettany. 

Going into this movie i worried that i was about to witness a movie much worse than Episode i and Episode II. Episode III in my opinion wasn’t great but it wasn’t half as bad as the two movies that it followed but a Han Solo movie wasn’t a movie that i asked for and it wasn’t a movie that anybody really asked for.

However the promise that the movie held was in Kasdan’s script and it delivered with flying colours, this movie is so great, and it’s up there with my favourite star wars movies, it’s not my favourite. but it’s up there the film has very few flaws in my eyes. 

Firstly, lets talk about the biggest thing, Han Solo, did he deliver as this iconic character. Yes he did, he was great, while some of his dialogue at times was questionable, i think he did make the character his own and thats what i like the most here.

Secondly, let’s talk about Lando, he was by far the best character in the movie because he felt like 100% Lando, Donald Glover gave a fantastic performance here and it was uncanny, what did it for me is that he looked so confident and relaxed while Alden at times, didn’t have the same confidence you expect in the Solo character, yes he was cocky, but he wasn’t confident.

The other characters were OK, i don’t think they are iconic characters and i don’t think they were meant to be. i wasn’t fond of L3, she annoyed me a little from time to time.

Another star of this movie is Chewbacca, a character that really dominates this movie, he has some great moments here and we learn a fair bit more about this character. 

I also love that the falcon was a character in itself, it wasn’t that way in The Last Jedi unfortunately, it was under utilised in that movie, and i realised this when we saw the heroes in the cockpit in this movie, it felt like that classic star wars we know and love. 

The score was incredible, it did things with the original score but it also did it’s own thing too and there was some new styles thrown in there that made the film just feel like its own entity.

I also really liked the fact that this movie is not about the Rebels vs the Empire, i loved that we had this new threat Crimson Dawn in the movie, it felt new and it felt refreshing and to me it was lucasfilm showing that they have staying power and they have something new and exciting to offer fans and that they arn’t going to just keep recycling things from the original trilogy.

But it was a safe movie i think, a very safe movie, it didn’t have as many easter eggs as Rogue One making this movie feel like much more of a standalone than Rogue One was, i feel like Rogue One was an episode in it’s own right. 

We learnt some things about Solo, his father built ships just like the falcon and wanted to be a pilot, there wasn’t much said about his mother which could lead to a few possibilities as this movie does leave it open and possible to give us a sequel or two.

We learn about where the name Solo came from, and i am on the fence about that one, it felt very heavy handed and it was a bit on the nose for my liking.

But this movie stood on its own two feet and told its own story which i really respected. if you take away all those easter eggs and cameos from Rogue One you are not really left with much of a film, you can’t say the same thing about Solo.

So lets talk about the ending of the movie, there is a twist in that Solo is double crossed by Beckett, but lets be honest, we all saw it coming. but what we didn’t see coming is the movies one huge cameo. Darth Maul once again played by Ray Park, complete with robotic legs, he is the crime lord in this movie and it was so damn good to see him back on screen.

It’s so easy to overlook his presence as the only good thing from The Phantom Menace, i would love to see more of him on screen and perhaps it means that he will show up in what i presume will be an Obi Wan movie in the future i dont know. 

All in all though, it was a fantastically enjoyable movie that i didnt ask for, and i didn’t expect but easily makes it high in my list for 2018.

Caelum VI was definitely good to his wife though. like yea, their marriage was explicitly at Morgana’s suggestion (and likely strongly supported by Twila I) but the guy wasnt gonna treat his wife like shit and use her JUST as a tool to gain Divinitian favour. he knew how that would end. someone somewhere would break and reveal it to the world and he’d probably be kicked out in favour of like..... they would find someone somewhere. i didnt fill out the family tree beyond what was strictly necessary to describe its key members, but there is DEFINITELY a family branch somewhere. theyre distant as fuck, and almost definitely extremely eastern (to my best guess, the closest available branches are Caelum VI’s sister Theresa OR his fucking great-great-great-great aunt Tamara, who was, for some context, Soleil II’s granddaughter) so that sorta messes them up a little. but Caelum knew there was potential for it. and coming from a country where the genealogy of the royalty is likely FAR messier than that of Divinice (Divinice’s royal line only dates back 400 years, while most eastern countries can lay claim FAR further than that, barring some notably murdered examples, like Divinitia owo) he’s probably used to the idea of weird family infighting. so maybe Dont give them ammunition??? and dont be a dick to his wife??? damn.

so he made sure to be good to his wife. he made sure she definitely wanted to marry him and that it wasnt because her family wanted standing, he took her on trips around his homeland, and he gave her full rights to name their first child. he genuinely wanted to treat her right. she was sort of like, representative of his intents towards Divinice. he knew he was a foreigner, a stranger, and he wanted to put his best foot forward.

another thing he probably did was make strong efforts to protect her family once the War of the Skies really heated up and Azure gained more and more support. He likely strongly begged his wife to consider either moving south to safe territory or east, where his family could look after her until it was safe, both of which she refused. It’s likely her finally agreeing to leave Divinice for her safety that really ended the fight on his side. at this point, its 1002 at the earliest, the war is starting to really take a toll, and he’s already moved the entire base of operations to the south. which was a huge sign that he was losing control. Celeste finally accepting his pleas that she seek safety in the east, so late in the game, just exemplified this fact to the people. Celeste had been Divinice’s strongest supporter, and a huge player in her husbands tumultuous reign. her leaving showed the people the jig was up. she pledged to continue helping her husband, but the sheer distance meant noone really believed she could do much. at most, she could gather eastern support for him, which she tried to do. it didnt really work (for multiple reasons), but hey. you try, right. but she’s left, Caelum is stuck in the south which isnt even technically Divinice!! theyre fucked. hence he promptly leaves, admitting defeat and sending an envoy to present the royal emblems to Azure, who promptly becomes Azure I, Queen of Divinice (later known as First Empress because i mean yknow).

at that point, odds are potentially high that Celeste’s family are under threat from Azure as she aims to get rid of dissent towards her ascension. so Caelum pulls a fuck ton of strings in an effort to bring them safely eastwards. which partially succeeds. a few wouldnt make it. a few wouldnt leave. stuff like that. but now that he’s back east, and that Celeste basically cannot go home ever again, Caelum basically devotes the rest of his damn life to making her smile, to making her laugh. its a bunch of cute shit. they move back into the estate he was raised in and through a series of traders, he brings a bunch of plants local to Divinice in, which he plants in the gardens, and which are possibly still around in modern times? thatd be cute. like that its just a big garden of trees and flowers native to Divinice, cared for by his descendants.

Theres a chance that, far further down the line, his family line rejoins with the eastern royalty. its unlikely? but technically possible. the east probably still has its monarchy, just constitutionally. his family probably remains a noble group, probably most well known for him and a few scattered descendants who tried to take Divinice back (Victoria trying could be kinda cool imho). its also likely they supported Kaisa’s rebellion in 1256, which is a fun way to tie them back in. like, of course they dont end up running Stolisia, because its a democracy, but they helped. it fulfills Caelum’s promise - that he would protect the rights of the southern tribes to remain independent of Divinice. its only fitting that his descendants would fight to restore that independence.

uhh tl;dr Caelum VI tried his best to do well by his wife despite everything and its cute and sweet and their eldest daughter probably tried to take Divinice back? as did a few scattered descendants. in 1247-1256 they also definitely supported Kaisa, though its important to note that by that stage, they aren’t really royalty anymore. theyre just famous nobility. slightly different.
