But yes! Thank god James stood his ground! I think things would’ve gone bad if he’d gone back to Jason. And yeah, he didn’t hit him, which I’m surprised at, but I think James just isn’t in the right mood, and I think he still cares about Jason!

before i read the new chapter i want to give a thought ive been having for a while...

how do we know that cynthia is actually dead? as far as i know theres no true evidence proving that the fire killed her. does somebody know she isnt dead? what if she started the fire herself as a distraction so she could leave?

as soon as i saw Cain and Abel mentioned i grabbed my Bible and started to dig.

[ Genesis 4:1-5 ] In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the Lord. And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering, but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor.

if we apply what we know now Jason is Cain, Lars is Abel, Virgil is the Lord, and James the attention the Lord gave. Virgil knew about Jason and had told James to break whatever they had off. It's very possible Jason could've wanted to meet James' dad, but never let him. Jason holds the jealousy and anger because he had tried so hard to be with James, and Lars had simply exsisted as Torben's son.

[ Genesis 4:1-5 ] Cain said to his brother Abel, "Let’s go out to the field." While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.

Jason never told Lars or James where to go, but it was the fact he knew where they were going. did James secretly talk to him over the phone in the hospital? knowing what he knew, Jason waited. his goal was to kill Lars and have James for himself, just like how Cain wanted the favor of God only upon him. !THIS IS NOT ME SAYING JAMES IS AT FAULT!

[ Genesis 4:5-15 ] The Lord said, "What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground. Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.

now instead of God being Virgil, it is now Dave. He had either found out, or Jason had told him what he did. this could be the reason we haven't seen Jason. In the same chapter God had punished Cain by making him roam the Earth for the rest of time, cursed with that he would never be found. Dave had Jason taken to a new place where he knew they would never suspect to look for him.

while not too important (and not related to Genesis) it should be mentioned.

in the New Testament, specifically in The Gospel of James, Zechariah was killed for refusing to reveal the location of his son, who was in hiding.

Dave is Zechariah in this sense. while anything could happen and change, we should definitely be thinking about this for future chapters. as stated before Jason could be in hiding, and we know that Dave is the next stop for James and Kirk. while not flat out killing him at the moment they are there, it could be in later chapters after the next one.

it might not even be James or Kirk killing him if it was to happen though. The King of Herlot ordered his soldiers to kill Zechariah, and The King would be Torben.

ok so ive come to a conclusion that we've already met our shooter

jason- where has he been this entire time? as far as we know, he still loves james. he doesnt want lars to be in the picture hence why he could've shot him.

dave- its established that he hates torben and if he had his way he would shoot him dead. dave is smart, so as a way to get torben vulnerable he chooses to injure his son.

cliff- kirk could've told him what lars and james were doing, and he knew it would lead to something bad. he shot lars in attempt to scare them off from prying where they shouldnt be prying, but he definitely didnt mean to shoot him in the chest.

torben- i think we've touched on this once, but rereading made me think. torben could've thought kirk was with lars and the one driving, maybe tinted windows? maybe he found out james had to go to the hospital and thought he was still there? and we know lars was shot as soon as he stepped out. this was definitely a fast reaction type of shot, torben would never hurt his own son. this could be why he showed up at the hospital later than everyone else, he didnt want to see what he did to lars. i believe lone knows torben shot him, and he knows she knows. its established shes a bad bitch and she probably has blackmail upon blackmail that she wouldnt think twice about telling james and kirk. she knows torben didnt mean to shoot lars, but still hates him for wanting to kill his only friend. lone still wants to protect torben.... for now.
