It's believed this may be from an older draft by Travis Beachum, before Guillermo Del Toro's redesign of the character (that was actually used for the film and notes which were used for the novelization). Del Toro's notes and most canon materials indicate that Newt's birthdate is actually January 19, 1990, making him only 6 months younger than Hermann. [x]

So I have this discussion regularly with my friends, but as far as athletes political views go, they do not mater to the sport unless that athlete actively spreads hate. Keep having fun and ignore those that make personal beliefs of an athlete their entire personality vs how they preform for their team!

It’s such a tough line to walk bc maybe someone is a kid who just came over from a conservative country (or who just grew up in a very conservative family) who is now slowly changing because they’re around good people and are a good person at heart, or maybe it’s someone who is set in their ways who will never change and hates minorities skdkcndkv and like I just want to know who is doing what so I can at least know who to be wary of :’) as much as it’s not horrible to root for someone as a player and not as a person, supporting someone with truly awful views definitely doesn’t send the right message haha

I continue to take the innocent until proven guilty route for hockey players but it’s so hard to Actually Know bc unless they do actively spread hate/are super open about it it’s not in the news or anywhere readily accessible so I just never see it 😞 living a life where you trust no one ever isn’t really living so I do try to just watch the games and if something bad happens then I’ll hear about it but sometimes I just don’t hear about it bc I wasn’t looking and then it turns into a problem 😅
