Long post but these quotes have been circulating around my brain for a while LMAO. Most of them are just the hilarious lines, this is what I can remember atm

[I LOVE the pause + the pan out cam the next frame + mocking tone - he’s trolling intentionally, which makes it even more funny]

- Unnecessarily dramatic delivery, I LOVE IT

- Unintentional rhyming + alliteration(?):

- It’s one syllable away from becoming a haiku:

[if you listen to the original audio, he did pause at “wretch” and stressed at “insignificant” and “feculent” which makes the line break perfect for haiku count. If he said “scumbag”, that would’ve completed it but the fact that this is all unintentional is perfect enough]

[i swear this must’ve been an improv reaction, it’s so spontaneous, but it’s one of the most HILARIOUS lines in the film]

So, here’s a question for the mk kommunity, what’s some favourite line deliveries across the franchise. Be it the games, movies, tv shows, etc.

I’ll start, one for games and another for adaptations I will accept both serious and comedic dialogue.

Games: I have so many, but to narrow it down to one? I’ll have to go with the “Kung Lao and Liu Kang, they were like sons. I would move the heavens to bring them back to the light.” Just… the guilt present in his words.

Also, the MK11 best ending. The way mortal Raiden’s voice just sounds so much more at peace than normal, with a hint of pride for the man he sees as a son. The final exchange: 

Raiden: I look forward to meeting again, in the next timeline. Liu Kang: Then I will not say goodbye. 

It lives in my head.

(Also, basically anything MKX Cassie says because I appreciate Ashly Burch.) MKX ending is also pretty nice.

Adaptations: I don’t know why, but I’m a fan of the way Damon Herriman (Kabal in MK2021) delivers “Hey Kano, it’s been a while.” It has the air of nonchalance but also a subtle animosity that I can’t help but appreciate. The rest of the conversation is good too.
