Vestrahorn. Zum Start in die Woche zeige ich euch heute ein mit der Drohne fotografiertes Panorama aus dem südöstlichsten Teil Islands. Das Wetter auf Island ist meistens unberechenbar - so habe ich mich gefreut, dass ich zu einem Sonnenaufgang recht klare Sicht auf den Berg Vestrahorn hatte. Wenige Stunden später war das ganze Gebiet von tief hängenden Wolken verhüllt. An diesem Tag wurde der Berg außerdem von einem französischen Fashion-Label als Hintergrundkulisse für ein großes Fotoshooting genutzt. Mehr als 200 Personen und eine riesige Anzahl Produktionsfahrzeuge sind am späten Vormittag eingetroffen, mit Ruhe und Einsamkeit war es schlagartig vorbei... ...bei meiner letzten Reise nach Island habe ich die erste Woche in Quarantäne in Julia's Guesthouse verbracht. (Das Gästehaus ist übrigens sehr empfehlenswert, sowohl für einen Aufenthalt in Quarantäne als auch sonst.) Von meinem Zimmer aus hatte ich freien Blick auf einen der bekanntesten und aktivsten Vulkane Islands, den Hekla. Die knapp 1.500 m hohe Vulkanspitze ist die meiste Zeit von Wolken verhüllt, und noch im Mittelalter wurde an der Spitze des Bergs das Tor zur Hölle vermutet. Während meines längeren Aufenthalts während der Quarantäne hatte ich Gelegenheit, verschiedene Stimmungen entlang des Vulkanmassivs mitzuerleben. Besonders gut gefallen hat mir das Abendlicht am 12. März, das wunderbare Pink-Töne in den Himmel malte.
