Tally's ex, who does have a name but I will not share it as it is irrelevant, is their actual nightmare.

They met in high school and all he used to do was deride and shame them for their selective mutism. He thought it was weak, pathetic even, that they were that way. He's the type of person who wants to up hold power over those he deems weaker in every instance and he does not choose to acknowledge his mistakes under any circumstance. (Basically the type who would think he's right even on death's doorstep.)

All he wanted was to show Tally a real reason to be afraid, if their anxiety is so bad it manifests as selective mutism- he'll make sure they know what real fear is.

He doesn't literally shoot them as depicted here but its a visual metaphor of the lengths he would go to (and the lengths he Wants to go through).

He is an immovable object, and periodically I show him getting what he definitely deserves on a few occasions. (usually themes of eating/devouring him as if he's an evil entity that needs to be consumed and then purged from the world if that allegory makes sense.)

His path is a bit up in the air but should he reappear (likely)- he is an obstacle that will throw wrenches into every person who comes across him. In truth he'd actually probably be someone Boss would want as an employee- but that's neither here nor there.

Tally is about 16 when he attacks them. They manage to get away from him. Here's an idea of how they might have gotten away from him. :)

There's a reason for Tally's weapon of choice, but I'll let everyone else think on that :D
