Let's write an episode together and talk about the TARDIS(s)!

Anyone still there? Sorry, I got a little distracted by other things. But I am still having fun with this, so I will slowly continue it. Come along if you like :D (If you’re new: we’re writing a dw episode with my options that I am giving you and your choices in the polls. When it’s done I’ll force RTD to write it properly /j )

So far, we have decided on a multidoctor episode with the teams:

9 travelling with Rose, Bill and Jack

10 travelling with Martha, Donna and Jack

13 travelling with River and Yaz

Now, the last poll decided, that our episode will mostly take place inside the TARDIS. As we are dealing with a multidoctor episode, the question is: (How) Do they end up inside the same TARDIS? I have come up with some answers.

Explanations and examples can be found under the cut. Please remember while voting that no matter the scenario, the most time the camera will show the inside of one or more TARDIS-s (well, it’s all the same one anyway but you know what I mean), i.e. the console room, hallways or other rooms inside the ship.

I'll give you a little more time this round as I am expecting I might stay this slow with updates.

Scenario Different TARDIS-s, different plots

The distinct TARDIS teams don’t interact directly. The scenes switch back and forth, showing three distinct (but related?) stories inside the three TARDIS-s of the three teams. In different points in time and different locations. The teams don’t interact with each other except for possibly the Doctor and Jack remembering a similar situation or objects inside the TARDIS being used. Or things one Doctor and team do influencing another incarnation (think 11 ordering a fez and 13 receiving it). To the teams it has no relevance that we are seeing the scenes together but they enhance each other through subtle references.

Scenario Different TARDIS-s, same plot

All the teams stay inside their own TARDIS, at least for most of the episode, but they can communicate. Either directly, video call style, or a little more like Sally and her DVD’s with the Doctor/Jack leaving notes for past and future selves. The three teams work together to fight some impeding doom™, perhaps resulting in a celebratory party in the end outside the TARDIS-s.

Scenario Same TARDIS

For some reason two teams end up inside the TARDIS of another. I am imagining 13 purposefully tries to borrow 10’s TARDIS to do something specific (maybe she needs the round things for it or something) but miscalculates the time. Thus, contrarily to her belief, 10 and his team are already inside, taking a calm day to explore some rooms or something. And it’s not just them because right before 13 plus team arrive, 9 and his friends have made their way on board, mistaking her for their own TARDIS. The TARDIS, ever helpful, provided them their rooms, too, at the usual place. So, everyone’s inside the ship somewhere, none the wiser, when 13 and Yaz and River are starting the engine. Everyone comes to see who is abducting ‘their’ ship and find those strange women. Half of the episode is probably consecrated to the Doctor’s bickering about whose ship this is and who gets to fly her and the other half to actually pulling themselves together and solving the issue 13 was concerned with together.

Scenario Merged TARDIS – Doors

An error occurs and suddenly, while believing to have landed somewhere else, one team opens their door to leave the ship and finds itself entering the console room of another team, through the TARDIS door again. When they try to leave and go back, they end up inside the third team’s console room. Only at the third try they get back, but no matter where they try to fly to, the doors stay merged together. The outside of one TARDIS has become the inside of another (a tiny bit like in ‘time’ and ‘space’). The main issue of this episode is to figure out how to detach the TARDIS’s again and which Doctor belongs into which TARDIS and which Jack to which Doctor before the split happens and they’re all separated again.

Scenario Merged TARDIS – Interior

The TARDIS incites the teams to venture further into her depths until they reach the inside of another TARDIS incarnation. She has merged her insides together, producing a way of easily moving from one timeline to the other (although you have to run quite a long way, I suppose, I’m sure Donna and 10 will provide some segways to help out eventually). This helps with fighting several issues outside two or three of the TARDIS-s. This episode will feature a lot of running through TARDIS hallways, getting lost, searching for items that only exist earlier or later in time and loads of chaos and shouting to get a grip on the issues happening outside. Also probably someone getting locked inside a room on accident or one of the console rooms being no longer safe to enter.

Scenario Merged TARDIS – Russian Doll

One TARDIS is having steering/stabilising problems. To solve them, she lands inside the safest place: Herself. But not herself right now, but a former/later console room. When that TARDIS, disturbed from the impact of having herself inside, tries to land, the same thing happens. The Doctors storm out, managing to prevent the third TARDIS from landing and repeating the process, but now we have a TARDIS inside a TARDIS inside a TARDIS that can’t land. And the inner ones are too ruffled to start flying as well. The main issue is to resolve the connection and get all the TARDIS-s to be normal again.

(possible extra option with this one: one or several of the TARDIS-s get shrunk in the process together with the travellers. Picture mini-13 climbing over the console and leather jacket up to 9's ear to yell at him to notice them and help them out for Gallifrey's sake! (also tiny Jack hitting on giant Jack and vice versa) If people like this extra option, regardless of which option wins, I'll see if we can include it there, too)

Scenario Merged/One TARDIS – Echoes

We are following the storyline of only one of the teams but the TARDIS is supplying memories/echoes of former/later companions and Doctors to help with the plot. A little like River in ‘Name of the Doctor’ or 13 and the fugitive Doctor in ‘Once upon time’. Some possession, some ghostlike figures and images in mirrors and tapestries, some people suddenly being displaced in time and disappearing again. The echoes are interacting with the main TARDIS team but it is clear they are not completely there. When that particular adventure is lived, the TARDIS stops producing the echoes or is repaired so she doesn’t have to anymore.

Scenario The Master’s TARDIS

We are not inside the Doctor’s TARDIS at all but some incarnation of the Master has abducted/lured all the three teams into their own TARDIS where they have to work together to survive whatever the Master can throw at them in their own realm. Also possible with several incarnations of the Master working together.

Scenario Trenzalore

What it says on the tin. The three teams end up on Trenzalore inside the giant TARDIS that is the Doctor's grave. This one is angsty, friends ❤

1- Favorite song lyrics?

They don't have a lot to pick from, huh? But from Undercover, it's probably:

The fine line between "Hate" and "OK" Shouldn't you look beyond your EGO, before it all ends?

The first line, to me, really encapsulates how black and white the judgement system in Milgram is, and thus how horrendously inefficient it is. There's very little we can actually do to convey nuance in our voting, it really is a choice of just "you're perfectly okay and have done nothing wrong" or "we hate you and think there is no way you could ever be Forgiven", with only the 50% voting line separating the extremes. Sure, we can try to communicate with the voices in their head, but that's highly unreliable and unpredictable, so in practice "hate or ok" are really our only options. And Es' by extension.

Then the other line, asking to look beyond our own experiences to understand people with lives extremely different from our own, and how we have to do it fast because we don't exactly get unlimited time to come to our conclusions.

Though of course, this isn't just about us. Es is the one singing to themself in a way, and seeing how these things are phrased, it really helps show that despite how Es always act in control and on top of things, they still have their doubts and worry about how their judgement can affect the prisoners.

There's also Hibana, and for Es (and in general) my favorite lyric there is:

I don’t want to love a weak-minded love Come on, make it hurt more properly Going so far it’s no longer funny, is surely much more enjoyable come on, melt me more properly

Going by my personal interpretation of what the hell is going on in this cover, this line really ties together the meaning of Es wanting to make decisions with confidence, when it actually gives them extreme anxiety. Which, I do realize makes no sense when you look at the line by itself but I swear it works in the context of the wider interpretation.

2- Favorite MV moment/frame?

They have like three scenes what am I even supposed to say. Anyways it's probably this one.

It's definitely the most intriguing thing related to Es themselves in my opinion, only really challenged by the time they show up after all the smiles. The reason I'm not using that one is that it's difficult to tell whether or not it actually is Es even though contextually it's the only thing that makes sense.

Anyways about this spotlight scene. I like that Es isn't wearing all their uniform; they're missing the cape, the hat, the 'reciffO nosirP' (Prison Officer) and 'tse mudnatibud subinmo eD' ("Everything must be doubted" in Latin) band things... The point is to show that there is a person under all that, Es is not just the Warden. It's still a heavy part of their person, as they're still wearing most of the outfit, the gloves, and the keychain thing, but it's not all they are. Plus the spotlight and their expression, because again, as much as Es tries to confidently judge others, they themselves can get nervous when confronted, when there's a 'spotlight' placed on them.

Anyways I like it :D

3- Favorite non-MV official illustration?

This question made me realize I really don't know how many non-MV illustrations there are lol. Anyways here's the Tumblr compressed version of the third anniversary artwork.

I just love how this looks, and there's two Es'! That's double the fun! Plus them literally trying to grab at the prisoners' minds like grabbing at sand; it always falls off, Es literally cannot grasp what's going on in all their lives. Love it.

5- Favorite voice drama line/moment?

You'd think it would be difficult to pick considering the guy shows up in literally all the VDs.

It isn't.

[Of Blessedness and Punishment] Amane: You're a child, too! Es: Wrong. I'm fifteen, so I'm an adult in Puerto Rico and Haiti. You're twelve, so you're a child no matter the country. Amane: ...!! Es: Hehe. You look angry. Amane: I don't. Es: You do. Amane: I don't!!

The siblings ever. The fact Es completely made up the fact is even funnier.

For something more serious:

[TASK] Es: What is this shit about being a companion? I exist to judge your sins - as a guard! I don't have the need to shake hands with you!  Kotoko: Es? You don't see yourself as the executioner, right? Es: ...!? Kotoko: I've said it before, there are a lot of sinners which the law cannot punish. On the reverse, it is the same, there are also innocent people who are wrongly accused due to unsound laws. You also have the duty to forgive these people, no? Es: Haaah… Kotoko: You are not the executioner who convicts people for their sin. The person who offers to save the murderers who deserve to be forgiven.. It's also you. Es: Aaah.. Mm.. *shallow gasping* Kotoko: Come, Es… then, listen to my sin… Es: *gasp* Prisoner number 10.. Kotoko.. Come..! Sing… your… sins… *sob*

Es angst inject that shit in my soul-

[Imposter Boulevard] Es: It’s a personal dislike of mine. People who act based on their sexual urges like that, that is. Kazui: It’s personal? Es: Yeah. That’s right. Kazui: That’s strange. I did think that, despite being neutral as a Warden, you had some things you dislike, but… Es: … Kazui: Isn’t it unusual to openly reveal a personal dislike as a personal dislike? Es: You’re splitting hairs.

In case it's not obvious, I love when the mask slips a bit and we can tell Es as a person is more than just an extension of the audience. Look! They have personal dislikes! And of course it's Kazui who gets to see a bit of the "real" Es surfacing, because who the hell else would it be?

There's way more of course, but I have to limit myself a bit.

6- Favorite relationships with another character in the prison?

Amane. Again, the siblings ever.

More seriously, it's not just that I love their interactions when they're fucking around, I also love all the parallels and the ideological clashes. The undying devotion to an extremely harmful system. The view of themselves as an extension of a group rather than as an individual ("we? what's we?"). The way they both hate being seen as children, forced to grow up too fast. The way they both try to convince themselves they're happy with their life and condition, to the point it's almost convincing, until you look closer and see the cracks. How Amane hates Es because of what they've done to her, because they're the same as her abusers in her eyes. How Es goes dead silent when Amane brings up their similarities, when usually they'd lash out at the mere idea of the Warden being like a prisoner, because they understand to an extent. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-

I also love Es' dynamics with most of the prisoners, but Amane is something else.

7- Favorite relationships with another character if they weren't in Milgram, the way you'd imagine or would like them to be?

Honestly, this one's kinda hard because so much of Es' character is directly linked to Milgram. Imagining them outside the Panopticon in general is sorta difficult.

I think they and Amane could still be besties, but other than that, maybe Yuno? I think she wouldn't feel the need to put up a front next to the "I hate everyone anyways" vibe Es gives off, so they'd be judgmental buddies! Just imagine them doing each other's makeup while shit-talking everyone they can think of. Maybe throw Muu in for extra shit and giggles.

12- What do you wish would be discussed more often about them in the fandom?

I mean, literally anything? Es isn't discussed very often, which I guess makes sense, but it's unfortunate. More specifically, I wish people discussed the more concrete things we know about their personality a bit more. There's plenty of posts speculating on what is going on with them; where they came from, whether or not they're related to the prisoners in some way, what is their connection with the eleventh cell, that kind of stuff. And that's all very fun, I love those posts! But I have never seen an Es character analysis the same way I've seen analyses for practically all other characters (<- also hasn't written a proper analysis of them beyond the Hibana cover post). Still, I do understand why people don't, there's a lot of interesting characters in Milgram!

Amane

2- Favorite MV moment/frame?

This is like asking me to pick a favorite child what do you mean. I love her MVs too much why would you do this to me.

Anyways here's my favorite child moment.

Look at her!!! She's going to fucking destroy her mother let's go girlie fucking kill!

I just love how happy she looks here. Plus the eyes, the eyes. This entire part of the MV is great, it just makes me happy to see Amane happy you know what I mean? Plus the whole rainbow and rain and umbrella symbolism, and the fiction bleeding into reality (the eyes!), it's all awesome. I love her so much, she should smile like this when she stabs Shidou in the stomach I think he'd understand.

5- Favorite voice drama line/moment?

I could be cheap and tell you it's the same as Es', but it's really not.

[Apostle and Death] Amane: Okay! I’m kind, so I shall forgive you. That’s nice, isn’t it? If my parents were in my place, you would have been lectured for another hour. [...] Amane: ...isn’t it condescending of you to assume that just because I happen to be a child, I am incapable of hating someone enough to kill them?

Amane Freudian slipping into admitting she fucking despised her mother will never not be extremely entertaining to me. Yes, talk about how much you fucking hate her, kill girl kill!

[Of Blessedness and Punishment] Amane: You fool. Isn't MILGRAM trying to enforce a new standard of judgment precisely because laws cannot guide this world onto the right path? Are you still being weighed down by the law? [...] Amane: "We"? What's "we"? Are you not just "I"? Es: ... I...? Amane: Aren't we the same? Me and Guard-san.

PARALLELS

Also when she attacked Es with scissors. I think Milgram should have allowed it, it would have been funny if the Warden just fucking died before Trial 2 ended.

11- What are your favorite points about their story and the narrative surrounding them?

What aren't my favorite points of her narrative? Again asking me to pick a favorite child here.

If I had to pick one, probably the way the line between her cult's beliefs, Amane's interpretation of her cult's beliefs, and Amane's own desires blurs to a point it's really hard to figure out what she's actually thinking at any given time. Especially because of how Amane views all these things. Her cult is unquestionable but also she subconciously hates a lot of its aspects and twists its beliefs to justify her actions to herself. Her desires are sinful and animalistic (Animal cover and cat parallels go brrrrrr), but she still wants to follow them so so badly. Ugh, internal conflict my beloved.

And also I love how desperate she is to endure everything that's happened to her. Her unrelenting will to survive and go against the people who hurt her, the way she's still glad to have been born, the way she still tries so hard to be happy and make others around her happy. Holy shit this kid is the strongest (in terms of willpower) character in Milgram and no one can tell me otherwise, it's so unfair she has to be that way it makes me immensely sad augh-

And also I love how angry she gets occasionally. How spiteful and rage filled she can be. I will never get tired of seeing Amane in pure, unfiltered fury. Yes, girl, stab Es with scissors, kill your mom, stab Shidou, do it!

12- What do you wish would be discussed more often about them in the fandom?

I think Amane is discussed pretty well here on Tumblr, much as I've heard horror stories about what the Discourse looks like in other sites. But if there's one thing I wish more people brought up is how despite everything, Amane is motivated by the desire to make everyone happy. Positive Parade cover go brr.

Especially in things like the Fuuta situation. I feel like some people see it as just her trying to recruit for her cult or something, when really she's just trying to help him. Same with warning Mahiru against medicine to "save her soul" in a way. Healing the cat. Becoming the "perfect girl", the March Leader with the cloud ribbon, to make her abusers happy. Trying to make the best of the situation by attempting to turn Milgram into an ideal world. Trying to stay happy because that's the one thing she's worked towards her entire life.

In fact, I personally believe this is why Yuuri is depicted in Magic as maybe "kinder" than the others (might make a post about that at some point). Its ordainment is "Thou shall deliver unto those thou believest in", as in, "help those you believe deserve it." This is the one ordainment which is actually kinda in line with Amane's desires, so she imagines Yuuri as less angry at her and more compassionate than the others.

My point is that a lot of the time I feel her actions are talked about as either just motivated by her cult or just motivated by Amane's """sinful""" desires, be it her anger at her abusers or her cravings like wanting to eat cake, when really I think the happiness thing is the main motivator behind those things and it's not quite talked about as much. Does that make sense?

14- Any headcanons on their appearance?

Huh, I usually don't have many headcanons on appearance, but I can try.

I think my favorite is Amane having really sharp fangs. Like, talking anime style unrealistically sharp fangs that make her a terrifying hisser. Cat Amane my beloved.

Also she has small (say, 0,5 cm diameter), red circular scars all over her back. Stun gun injuries (no picture on the link) basically. Listen things with Amane can't stay very wholesome for very long-

3- Favorite non-mv official illustration?

Uh... Maybe his door?

(That's kinda small lol)

It looks nice as it is, plus it has some nice symbolism as does every door image. I just think it's neat.

5- Favorite voice drama line/moment?

[Imposter Boulevard] Kazui: I despise myself for lying, too. Being a liar, you see – it’s painful. Es: Heh. Then just– Kazui: So I’ve tried to change! I’ve tried to change. I have tried to stop lying to myself and others! Es: … Kazui: I’ve confided in others. I’ve tried to be myself! I’ve tried to just be the way I was born! Es: …Hey, Kazui– Kazui: It’s not my lies that killed her. She’s dead because I stopped lying to her! If I had just kept lying- She wouldn’t have died…! Es: Kazui… Kazui: I can’t live unless I lie. That’s how I was born… I’m pathetic, aren’t I?

I mean, come on. It's the basis of his character and crime, and the voice acting is fucking insane in this section. Apart from how emotional it is, I also like that it still ends in the same somewhat performative self-loathing Es calls him out for in the first VD.

[Gouging in the Night] Es: Showing a hint of weakness and trying to get on my good side like that… Is that another one of your "adult techniques"? [...] Is there anyone who lets themselves get fooled by a specifically prepared "weak" side of yourself? I see, I see… So these are the kinds of skills that you gain when you've lived for a long time.

Gotta love it when a character regrets something bad enough not to be able to forgive himself for it, but he's so afraid of facing consequences and social reprimand because he's built his entire worth around others' opinions that he still heavily plays up the self-loathing to be pitied.

Timelines [23/9/2] Yuno: Haha, we both lie, don't we? The difference is the reason for lying. Kazui-san, you lie to protect yourself, because you're important to yourself. For me, no one is particularly important. That includes myself as well.

Unlike Yuno, who explicitly doesn't want to be pitied. Love these two.

I don't know if I'm explaining it right, but that's what I get from the whole mess.

6- Favorite relationships with another character in the prison?

I love his interactions with Yuno, of course, the Liar Duo. Yuno is such a little bitch to him all the time, I adore it. However, I also love his dynamic with Es, if they count for this question. Kazui's VDs are great.

But honestly Kazui has a lot of good options here. The smoking group with Shidou and Mikoto is fun, his interactions with Mahiru and Amane are also always nice, etc.

19- What do you think their childhood/teenage years were like?

Extremely closeted homosexual, of course. Probably tried to """compensate""" in some way by acting as traditionally masculine as possible, I imagine he was quite the dudebro. With how much emphasis his parents seem to have put on his strength and tradition, I get the feeling he may have been a somewhat stereotypical jock.

That's why I think he may have done a lot of really stupid shit as a teenager and tries to distance himself from them now, which is why he puts so much emphasis on his age despite being less than forty years old. He feels like a completely different person than who he was as a teen, and while he was always self-concious about a lot of shit, he's maybe especially self-concious of the shit he did when he was younger.

Don't take any of that very seriously, though. All of that is practically headcanon vaguely guided by the text!

20- What do you think their social life was like before milgram?

Going off the previous idea, I imagine he only kept a few connections from his teenage years, which is why the one childhood friend he brings up is so notable to him. It's the only one who Kazui really wanted to stick around.

There's obviously Hinako and Kazui's other coworkers, fellow policepeople. The way I interpret the bar scenes in half is Kazui meeting with friends, the bartender being the childhood friend and the woman being someone he met as an adult.

Other than that, I imagine he was pretty closed off and didn't talk to many other people. He seems like the type to enjoy a mostly closed off friend group, but I don't really have anything to support that claim other than vibes alone so.

21- Do you have any similarities with them/relate to something in them?

Uh... I guess personality-wise we're not too different. In real life, I'm quiet and reserved, don't express much emotion, mostly have a "well this is happening now I guess. We vibe though" attitude to most of what goes down in my life, and don't like talking about myself much which yes is making this question sorta difficult.

Okay, so I've been working on finishing up our last chapter (17) while also getting the blurbs and stuff ready for the upcoming vote on the next series. But I wanted to come have a mini little Q&A with you guys first because I have a lot of content ideas/plans so I want to get kind of a overall idea of what y'all are interesting in seeing from me and some feedback on some other stuff too. So, here's my questions:

Seven Sentence Sunday

Thanks for the tag @adventuresofprettyboyandthekid ❤ This is nowhere close to seven sentences, but consider this a make-up for all the times I got tagged for this and WIP Wednesday and never posted anything.

Here's a rough snippet I was working on today from Chapter 2 of my Survivor fic 🌴

“What’s the problem?” Buck asks. “We have a plan. We're all voting Bobby. Simple.”

“Uh, do the math, genius,” Lena says, incredulous. “Four isn’t the majority of ten. We need numbers if we want control over who goes home first. And Eddie,”— she motions toward the beach—“is our best bet.”

Ali follows Lena’s gesture to shore, where Eddie stands shirtless on the sand, helping their other tribemates patch up the last bit of the shelter. The way he jokes with Chimney and Hen, the way he pulls tooth-bearing grins out of normally stoic Athena and Abby, the synchronicity with which he and Bobby fit sticks and fronds into the roof like pieces into a puzzle — it's casual and familiar, even though they've haven't been a tribe for a full twenty-four hours yet. But it would be much more fearsome if that weren't Eddie's default setting.

And after he showed her how to use sea water to season her food at breakfast and Ali had to shove a shell full of rice into her mouth to avoid looking into those dark brown eyes and telling him all her secrets, it was undeniable. Eddie had a talent for charming the people around him, and it was effective against everyone.

Effective against everyone but Buck, that is.

“Yeah, that’s not happening,” he mutters.

Ali rolls her eyes. “Are you still bitter about the challenge? I say this with love, but it’s been a whole day. You need to get over it.”

“What she said,” Lena agrees, pointing her way. “Look, Bobby, Chimney, Athena, Hen and Abby are a solid five. You, Ali, Jonah and I are a solid four. Eddie’s the only one who’s spent time with both groups. Like it or not, he’d be the easiest one to try to get to our side.”

It makes perfect sense. Pulling Eddie in would force a tie, at least giving their little group a fighting chance at the first vote. But one glance at Buck’s scowl says the argument isn’t quite landing.

“Let me put this in a way you can understand,” Lena pivots, dripping in condescension the way it does when she's on the verge of losing her patience. “Eddie’s the hot girl at the club that everybody wants to take home right now. We have to do everything we can to butter him up so he wants to come home with us. Or else we'll all be going home, only for real. ”

Buck folds his arms tightly across his chest and his face screws up in disgust. "Did you think putting that image in my head would help your argument?"

Lena cocks her head to the side. ”Would you rather be in an alliance with Bobby?”

Buck clenches his jaw, swallowing back the host of things he probably wants to retort with. “No,” is eventually what he settles on.

“Thought so. So plaster on a smile, put the seduction skills I know you have to use and make Eddie think you're his one and only — figuratively speaking,” Lena makes sure to add when Buck makes a face. “And you better start now because he’s coming this way."

"Wow that's the fifteenth time today huh? Megs' really got you beat! Maybe next time you should try not getting hit!"

The son of Hades sighed as he wiped the remaining blood off of his face.

"Yeah, I'll make sure to give that a try next time mate." He said as he walked off towards his chambers.

"Wait, are you going to head out there again? That's maybe like, the worst idea I've ever heard!"

"I appreciate the vote of confidence."

"No offence but, look at yourself! You're exhausted! I mean I know your feet are like, literally on fire, but maybe you should relax a little? Be done for today?" Hypnos warbled on, seemingly worried for Zagreus, which he appreciated but definitely didnt need.

"Yeah, I'm afraid that's not going to happen mate. I'm right on the cusp of beating her, I can feel it! I just can't rest until it's done."

He just needed to keep going. The longer he stood still the more he could feel the exhaustion piling on his bones. So he couldn't stand around for long.

"Ooh! I have an idea! You can't rest because you're, well, restless, right? I know something that will make it all better! You'll let me try it wont you?"

Hypnos looked down at Zagreus from his floating position excitedly.

"Uhhm- mate, that sounds great and all but I really have to get back in the fight. You understand right?" Zagreus liked hypnos, but he just wanted to get out of this conversation and get back to his plans for the day. Primarily escape.

"Nope!" Well that's not a good sign.

Even though hypnos's laid back and cheery disposition might have you think he's not a strong willed person, once he's got his mind set on something he wont let go until it happens.

Zagreus knows that, so hes not planning on convincing him otherwise. Besides hypnos is someone he can trust, so whatever he wants cant be too bad, right? It's best to let him just have his way.

So hes just going to let Hypnos do his weird thing, and get back to tartarus.

That was the plan.

The plan did not work out very well.

"Okay...Umm what do you want me to do..?"

"Just lay down and let me do my thing!"

"...Alright."

Zagreus did that, and hoped Hypnos wouldn't just make him pass put on the floor in the main hallway or something.

He was so confused when hypnos just plopped down on top of him.

"Hypnos? Is this some strange attempt at seducing me? Why are you on top of me?"

"Dont worry about it! Thanatos never let me do this to him, I'm kinda excited!"

Weird. "I feel like I sho- H-hey, what are you.. Mph!"

And it looks like Hypnos is...trying to tickle him? Why? He has no idea?

"Hey, dont try to hold in your laugh! It wont work that way!" Gods help him, Hypnos is trying to tickle him. In good will at that. Zagreus found himself wanting to be mad and failing.

"Ehmm mahate, I dont think this is a good idea..!"

"Achilles told me mortals use this to relax all the time! Why not give it a try at least? Here, I'll up the intensity! Just try to relax!"

Hypnos's blunt nails were scritching across his abdomen and it was getting distracting. Zagreus grabbed his wrists but only lightly pushed away. He was already so tired and laughing like this made him feel weak.

"Mpheheh hypnohos ihihits embahahar- Ahaha! ehembarrasing!"

"Why would it be? You have a lovely laugh my friend!" He moved upwards towards Zagreus's ribs and increased the pressure a little.

"AHahahah! NAHahhah!"

"There we go!"

Hypnos, with growing confidence, dug into Zagreus's underarms. It definitely did not result in a squeak, or any strange sounds at all for that matter.

Either way, the squirming increased tenfold and Zagreus was now laughing fully.

"HAhahAh HYPNOHOHOS! NAHAH!"

Hypnos had a giddy smile growing on his face watching his friend laugh."This is so fun! I just wanna try two more spots, then you can rest okay?"

"AHAhahahHah! WhyaheheHe?!"

"Great!"

By the time Zagreus had caught his breath, Hypnos had shimmied down to his legs and already had his hands poised by the princes' thighs. He refuses to acknowledge the noise he made when Hypnos started lightly scratching his inner thighs.

The son of Hades dissolved into squeaky giggles, and without any core strength left to sit up, and nothing to grab onto, he just resorted to covering his own face in an attempt to muffle his laughter as he squirmed on the floor.

"FahahAhck-- hmhmHa!"

Hypnos seemed to pay that no mind as he happily continued to scritch-scratch at the princes' thighs.

Once he decided he was done with that particular spot, Hypnos shimmied back up to where he was before.

He leaned in close to Zagreus's face

"Hi."

"H-hello theHehehere mmehehehe! Aha!"

And he promptly dug into Zags neck.

This spot was different from the other ones. Mainly in that it made Zags entire body into jelly. He found his traitorous body not only relaxing into Hypnos's touch, but leaning into it.

"Ooh! You like it here huh? I'll keep that in mind!"

Hypnos mused.

"Nnahah! I dohohont! Hehahaha!"

Zagreus cringed at the fact that he sounded as though he was whining.

Hypnos looked down at Zagreus while he continued to tickle. "Hey is it okay if I give you  raspberries?"

Honestly, Zagreus couldnt even remember what that was but a this point he didnt really care. He gave a weak nod. Obviously not because he was enjoying himself. How could it get worse at this point?

"Okay!"

Zagreus found himself giggling before hypnos's mouth was anywhere near his neck. And when it landed his nerves exploded. He didnt even know things could tickle this much.

His back arched in his laughter as his bodys' very helpful instinct was to apparently pull Hypnos closer in this weird tickle hug.

"GOHODS! AHAHAHAHA! NAHAHAHA!"

as the raspberries kept coming one after another Zagreus couldnt figure out if he was on cloud nine, cloud six-six-six or maybe both? His nerves were going insane. He was going insane.

Then finally,

"GOHODS, STAHAHP! STAHAHP AHAHhahahah"

Hypnos immediately backed off.

Once Zagreus had gotten up and caught his breath, Hypnos broke the silence.

"Sooo do ya feel better?"

"I...am going to sleep." Zagreus tried to sound exasperated but it worked a little less with the ghost of a dorky smile still left on his face.

That night (or day?) Zagreus wouldn't admit it but he slept the best he ever had in his life.

Although he buried the part of himself that thanked Hypnos for it, that was the first time he had no nightmares since he was a kid.

I think the simple answer and I believe most those ppl will say is that "I can post my own opinion in my own account" hmmm well they don't care if their posts are public and very easy to be accessed (esp I saw they never censor the title). Twitter is very very bad place I agree, I'm only there for votes and my other fandom but for some reasons I came across those mean tweets about fics so :( I'm so sorry that thread make you questioning your recent work and wanting to delete your previous ones. I know you might don't need my words because I know you're adult and you're very aware those comments shouldn't affect you but again I'll still say it anyway, please don't listen to them, it's hard to ignore yes. But always remember you have so much people loving you and your works. And I'm one of them :) ❤

And yeah, you are 100% right. Absolutely, anyone can post any damn thing they want on their own account!  I don’t dispute that in the slightest, and certainly, my opinion is no more or less valid than anyone else’s.

But. For me, there’s a difference between “I can do this” and “I should do this.”

To me at least. Like I said, I think the Twitter brings out the worst of people. And I’ll own that I overthink just about everything. Between a bachelor’s in ethics and a career as a trauma therapist (not to mention being a trauma survivor), I think a *lot* about how my words and actions impact other people. Not in like a, “I’m the center of the universe and everyone is paying attention to me” kind of way. In a “Can I make the world a tiny bit better? Or at least, have a neutral impact” kind of way. 

And I’m 1000% not perfect and absolutely I make mistakes and whatever. I just - I dunno. I want the world to be a kinder, more positive place, and I really do believe every tiny little thing you can do helps. At the very least, do no harm. 

I know there’s nuance here. But for me, my “right” to express my negative opinion of someone else’s creative work that’s given freely to me is far outweighed by my desire not to hurt other people. Like my other sweet anon, who stopped writing because of the unsolicited critical feedback they got. I would be devastated if I did that to someone. 

So sure, people can post whatever they want, ignoring the fact that they’re doing real harm to real people.

That’s just not at all who I want to be in the world.

Bored and had nothing to do, I asked one of my best friends what theme my next post should be, and being her consistent emotional self (I am, too), she presented me something I still don't know whether I'm capable of telling, but here I am, trying my best to start it and hoping that I can do it smoothly. I don't know if you already have an idea, but I think you're one of us who's also like this, having a hard time telling others what we truly feel.

I actually forgot when everything related to it had started (apologies for this memory of mine), but I know that I am still that person. Oh, I think I can remember now! "Serving and not being served" mantra is, by far, what I consider as the most essential I've put on leadership. I was still young when I learned that many wanted me to be of lead. The days when I was expected to enjoy life and be playful as what a child should be seemed to pass by quickly. Yeah, I've been a student officer ever since I was a child (grade 4 to be exact). I didn't know what had gotten into my classmates, but they really voted for me! Then, it continued even until colllege. Due to my consistently won elections and appointments, I felt that I really was destined to be a leader.

You know, like any other things, good things always come with bad things. One moment, you're happy and then another moment, you're sad. It's inevitable. It's just like that. In my case, being a leader has had a great toll on me. Striving hard to be the best I could ever be has given me all sorts of emotions and circumstances, and one of those is keeping all my thoughts and feelings in me. I thought that I had to be strong in the eyes of many. I thought that I was not allowed to show any sign of weaknesses. I thought that there should be no room for dramas and all, but the more I believed in these fallacies and the more I concealed everything, the more I got hurt and frustrated.

Let me ask you then. What's your reason of keeping everything or almost everything to yourself? What has urged you to live in that way? You probably have no idea or you're still confused why you're like that, but I assure you that there's no concrete answer for such a thing. Each of us has our own reasons, so I can't say that your reason is invalid while mine is valid or vice versa, but I think one way of bettering this certain personality of us is accepting that we can't carry the world on our back. We're smaller than all the dilemmas we have. We can't simply neglect what we truly feel and somewhat forget that we can actually share it with anybody we trust. Also, practice really matters. I can't say that practice makes perfect because here I am, an example of someone who has gradually opened up with other people but still has times when I just want to keep to myself what I feel and think. Again, practice matters!
