Is there a reason in mortal Kombat the characters are fighting and why people ship Kenshi with Johnny? I have never played a mortal Kombat game before.

but to answer your question, they just had a bunch of interactions in the canon story mode of mk1, and their stories were deeply involved with each other :3 based on their dynamic in canon it was just really easy to put them together i suppose!
