Hello, I’m unsure why I have to say this since I feel it should be obvious but I am setting some my opinion straight and I hope people can listen and act.

Ask Box

I would like to start with my ask box. I opened my ask box with the intention of doing some request an art on my free time as a fun stress reliever. What I was not expecting was people to be demanding art, giving me backhanded comments for not responding to their asks, and sending me links to drama that I have nothing to do with.

My ask box is or for request, comments, and concerns. People need to keep in mind that their requests are not commissions. You are not paying for the art therefore I don’t have to draw it or respond. People saying “I made a ask and you haven’t responded.” Or “I can’t believe I finally had the chance to make an ask and I was ignored.” … please understand that,

1. I have no obligation to do any of the asks. I do the ones I want when I want.

2. I am a College STUDENT who also WORKS. I am very busy, be patient.

3. You DMing me asking for an art request that you can make in my inbox is unnecessary. I have gotten a good handful of people doing this, I’m not mad just confused why they come to my DMs when I have a ask box for a reason.

4. Demanding art will not get you art. Giving me attitude will not get you art. The apologizing and trying to ask me to make you art will not get you art.

5. I’m ok with crack ships. I am not ok with incest, non-con, NSFW, etc.

6. Do not ask me about drama, do not send me drama, do not @ me in drama. Not about me? Not my problem. I will speak about the things if I want to.

Art conditions

I have said this before, and I will reiterate it here and now.

I am not comfortable with people tracing my art, reposting my art without my permission, or claiming my art.

Dubs are fine. Fan art is fine. Inspiration is fine.

However do not trace my art, and then call it inspiration. In the past couple of days I got a post where I was @ in. This post was very obviously traced of my art and was deemed “big inspiration”. I do not appreciate it when people trace my art. Please don’t do it.

I have also had four people have been posting a My art on their accounts on Instagram and Pinterest. Please do not post my art without my permission regardless if you credit me. Ask me.

Commissions

I’m going to put this in a smaller category because it’s not that big of a deal for me. But it should be known that any art that is commission by me will have my signature or @ on it. It is not acceptable to remove it. You may use it wherever you please as long as you credit me.

Hi !! I started using notion last year to try and organize my school life and still haven’t completely figured it all out, so I get what you mean with it being a little confusing 😭. I’ve been mostly using it as a planner, but just started writing notes on it over this summer break and am kind of loving it. For Planning:

Here is my notion dashboard! It’s a little barebones compared to others that I’ve seen on Pinterest, but it works for me because if I include anything else my ADHD brain will get overwhelmed and won’t keep up with actually using and updating it.

I have two databases: one being used as an assignment tracker that sorts my assignments into To-Do, Overdue, and Done sections based on dates and the other has pages for my classes for the semester. (I just realized that I forgot the change the heading from Spring 2024 to Fall 2024, so please don’t mind that 😭) Along with the databases I have a simple to do list for things that I need to get done that aren’t assignment related.

You could also add a calendar view to the assignment database if you prefer seeing it in that format, I just choose not to because I use Google Calendar to see it in relation to my other plans for the day.

I don’t use the class pages for much because I preferred writing my notes in either Goodnotes or a physical notebook last semester, but I’ll probably start using them more because I like using notion to keep track of all of my code snippets and stuff along those lines that are easier to type than write out. It was also pretty helpful last semester for creating drafts and outlines for essays.

For Note-taking:

Here are two examples of pages that could go in the classes database if you prefer to take notes digitally. I like to use databases to create pages to take notes in for each chapter/section of the textbook or material for the class.

My favorite way of viewing it is the board view because I like having my progress visualized (and clicking and dragging chapters to the “Done” section is satisfying), but the table view is also nice if you want to include more details such as quiz scores or dates.

Here are some photos of my notes for a single chapter. I use section headers to separate the actual notes from other stuff like chapter-specific exercises or links, and use toggle headers for sub-section notes to make it less cluttered. Other than the formatting it’s nothing too fancy, my typed notes are similar to how you would take notes in any other software like GoogleDocs or Word.

I started the cult on Pinterest out of all places, and that got mediocrely far. However, I know that some people here would be interested in this.

You don’t need much to join the cult itself. All you really need to do is ask me, and (most likely) I’ll let you in. However, I find just the group on its own is really boring in theory. Because of this (not so really a) dilemma, theres also a discord server !!!

I forget my talent is writing, and not as much drawing, so I forget how I’m supposed to even express myself. I was always told it was drawing. Then I some things for an assignment and it ended up being published. Anyways, I am getting off topic. I grew up on your Tumblr, and i have been here since the very begining. The world around was shitty and it was my break from everything. I was afraid my au was way to similar to yours and then I found one way it wasn’t. Hello! [apologies in advance if this ends up long] I've been doing an ABSURD amount of digging to find the definition for the term Moonboy that you coined. I looked through some questions you answered so I know you lost access to your blog orxngecrxsh [rip] but I saw you mention that a lot of your terms were reposted on Pinterest and I'm 99% sure that I've found Moonboy on there, but now there's no trace. So now to my actual question: Do you still have the definition? Or: do you know the names of Pinterest accounts who've reposted your terms so I can search through them? [since sometimes searching for terms won't work but they still exist on the poster's page] The users for literally any amount of people will be a huge help, I've spent months on this and I'm too stubborn to not find the definition again. first, a lot of the genders i posted have definitions that simply replace a few words from the other. for things like starboy/girl and moonboy/girl, the definitions of each were the same with masculine and feminine swapped respectively. i unfortunately don’t still have the definitions, but a search for ‘orxngecrxsh moongirl’ on google led me to another mogai blog’s reblog of the gender, which had the definition. this is moongirl, so the definition of moonboy would be:

a gender that is masculine and has strong connections to the moon! this gender feel cold, chilly, and dimly lit!

Backstory:

(Prologue.**)

A traveling exorcist, of sorts. He was once a well-respected advisor to his monarch in a kingdom once known as Amaran. But that was before The Blackening... The evil that scorched the very brick and earth itself, tainting the soil permanently and taking the lives of all in the kingdom walls unfortunate enough to be trapped within, leaving nary a trace of what once was, save for an unmistakable aura of some since-passed, lingering darkness of what occurred in that unfortunate land. No one knows who he is for he wears a mask and never reveals his truth... His truth? He caused it. He was the villain that took the lives of his entire, beloved kingdom. All in the name of what was for the best... for the greater good of the kingdom. In the name of prevention of invading forces, in the name of paranoia and fear - well placed, but unnecessary and unwanted. He went against his kings wishes, arrogant enough to think he knew better, and he continued to dabble in magic of the hells and darkness, muddying his own soul in the process. The ritual he conducted in a desperate attempt to gain the upper hand to the rivaling kingdom succeeded, but then... failed. The spell splintered, fractured and became corrupted and in the end... he wound up conjuring forces beyond his control, but because of the twisting of the dark magic, it instead took the souls of all within the kingdom's walls, sapped the life of all plants, people, animals, everything until it was naught but husks and dust and blackness, and his soul became entwined with the very being he sought to control and send to destroy his enemies. His human soul became warped, tainted, and broken in irreparable ways... and now he, the sole survivor and misguided villain of his story, wanders far from what he has done in search of some kind of purpose beyond his unforgivable deeds. The melding of his mortal spirit with the essence of that great demon he sought to summon caused catastrophic damage, and now he must live with it, unable to die by conventional means, and too afraid of what he will turn into if the power he holds on a taut leash becomes untethered from his corporeal body. In short? He is, again, a traveling exorcist now, with those extraordinary otherworldly powers, a monster hunter at times, and a vagrant... The Vagrant. He does not go by his own name and has abandoned all that he once was - unable to face his own truth, let alone the judgement of others. I have been experiencing several incredibly painful eye conditions for nearly two years that have severely limited my vision. I had two eye surgeries in 2023 to alleviate the worst of these conditions. Things have calmed down with my eyes, but I still have to take things easy in the vision department!

I have experienced several losses in my life over the past few years: two uncles, my maternal grandparents, two of my cats, a coworker and friend, and my daughter. These losses are taking a toll on me, and I am still grieving the losses.

I am also experiencing other forms of depression and anxiety in my life concerning my physical health and mental health due to my past relationship, current relationship pursuits, and now my job.

So, if you send me asks, DM me, or try to interact with me and do not get a response or get a slow response, all of this is likely why 😔. I’m not ignoring you! I’m just going through a lot!

FAQ

Are you accepting commissions?

No, I'm not right now. tbh commissions stress me out a lot lol, and i kind of function on a "i can only get myself to work on this if i am personally invested in it" type basis, and people like to commission for fandoms that i'm not always in - which makes it super hard for me to work on! AHH. if i ever do open them up though, you'll see a post about it! :D

Update: I am! Currently they’re closed to the larger public, as I’m doing limited comms for some friends in discord servers first as a bit of a test run. (You might have seen me post a few things!!) Do you do drawing requests?

Yep! Not all the time - only every now and then, and I usually only allow for about 3 requests. I make a post every time I open them up, and it's usually updated (all the slots filled) within a few hours or so. If you don't see a recent post about requests being open, or see it on the pinned post announcements, then they aren't open atm. :)

Do you draw NSFW?

This is a new development - but lmao yeah I do! However, you almost certainly won’t be seeing it show up on my art blog here. For the most part, I try to limit myself to “suggestive” rather than straight up nsfw when I post art. That means I won’t really be taking requests (or comms) for NSFW, either, not to mention I’m only just getting a handle on drawing it.

That being said - PLEASE don't send me messages about NSFW things, or with NSFW content or images. I’m talking asks, mostly. That shit gets deleted fam. >:T That would include like, something super gore-y or needlessly gross, btw. I'd rather just avoid people trying to show me that stuff all together.

Please also don’t send me unsolicited NSFW, either. I love my followers! But receiving like - explicit excerpts or images from someone I don’t know, but that follows me, is very jarring.

What are your other Social Medias?

Do you allow reposts?

Check my Carrd. Most of them share the same name(SilentShayShores, with or without that last s), although if you see me on other platforms and you're not sure if it's me, hit me with a DM here and I'll confirm it or not.

Only if you ask me for permission, mainly so I know where my art is being posted. I don't allow Pinterest reposts, that site is a dumpster fire of stolen art. If you see my art posted there, report it to me so I can get it taken down.

Why does your art say no reposts then?

Because some people can't be bothered to read F.A.Q. posts, so I just put "Do not Repost" on all of my art to prevent those specific people from using my art.

If you don't want your art used, you shouldn't post it.

Advice for getting started & making friends 💕

Since Tumblr ruined the original answer post to the ask: Hi!!! Thank you. I’ll go a little more in-depth with the answer and I hope you don’t mind.

1. Always know that no matter how good or bad you think your writing is: There are Wattpad books that were made into movies, so there will always be someone that will like what you write.

2. Tagging. Is. Important. Even though Tumblr is incredibly bad with its tagging system it’s always good to use tags so people following them can see your work. Try not to tag stuff wrong though. Did that a few times without noticing it and people were not happy about it. Understandably so.

3. Also always have warnings on your works and if there is something trigger warning worthy put it in the tags of the post with “xyz tw” and/or “tw xyz”. Also put age warnings in case you write 18+ content.

4. Utilize the option to block tags in case you wanna follow someone but you don’t wanna see certain fandoms/celebs. That also works for trigger warning tags.

5. Don’t feel bad about low reblog numbers. I have this amount of followers now and most of my works get 3-8 reblogs.

6. Don’t be afraid to tag some friendly bigger blogs in your first works. They might love what you do a lot. I, personally, am always up to be tagged in stuff.

7. Join writing challenges. Usually 50% of the bigger blogs have some kind of writing challenge going on. Those are great to get exposure and find other works to interact with. My current one is HERE.

8. When it comes to making friends it really depends. I think interacting frequently is a good start, but I found actual Tumblr DM’s to be the most helpful. Write your favorite writers that you liked a particular piece of their work or if you know you both have another shared interest, you can send them a Tumblr post about that. Example: I send baking enthusiasts cool looking food posts. But sometimes even DM’s don’t lead anywhere. Some people on here just don’t really want to make friends.

9. Interact with people’s personal posts. You’ll learn a bit about them from those. For example: I know that @buckyland​ has a cute cat and prefers greenery in pots and not vases (lmao).

10. Self-promo: I made a Discord server for MCU writers and it’s still going steady. Link for that is in my bio. We’re always excited for new people on there.

11. Asks are a great way to support writers beyond reblogging. Ask games are a great way to interact. Sending Requests is also appreciated by most people having open requests.

12. Decide if you want your own asks to include anons or not. But be prepared that if you enable anon asks, that you might get some dumbass spewing bullshit in there every few weeks (at least if you interact a lot w others). Vividly remember my first hate for interacting with my favorite writer.

13. Depending on how much you write you can plan your fics ahead. I, for example, publish most of my chapter based works once a week and only start publishing once they are at least 75% written. Others have ongoing works but I feel like the consensus on it is mostly “wait until you have a good idea of the ending or a rough outline.” @captain-kelli for example, writes her 'Call Sign: Renaissance’ series as an ongoing work but knows where it’s going and plots it out accordingly.

14. Know where to get inspiration. I personally have just trained myself to create everyday. Fiction, non-fiction, art, graphics, etc. It’s a good habit to have, but if you don’t have it you might wanna start an inspiration list or a side blog where you spam all your inspirations. Pinterest also is a good place for that.

15. Research how to link something in the mobile bio to put your masterlist there. There is this wonderful error Tumblr has, where you can’t change your profile on mobile or those links will vanish, so be aware of that. Just save that HTML code in a document lol.

16. Speaking of documents. I suggest writing your works in Google Documents, since it has a document history to refer to in the awful case of someone stealing your work. Preventative measure.

17. If you want a specific theme for your blog on desktop, you can DM me, I have tons of resources saved on another blog of mine.

18. For a nice mobile theme, you can visit @whimsicalrogers, search for headers and icons on Tumblr or request them from talented people per ask or DM. *cough* I make some too. *cough*

19. Oh, I also almost forgot this, but ALWAYS put a “Read More” break after more than 500 words in your posts. On desktop it mostly works in the normal editor, but there are also HTML codes in case it doesn’t work or you are on mobile. Basically, learn a few HTML basics for Tumblr in general, they always come in handy when this hellsite decides not to work.

Bottomline: Don’t be afraid to interact with your nickname being there front and center. Let yourself get seen. If your fandom blog is a side blog you can link them to each other in the bio like I did.

PS: The main reason why I got so many followers very quickly was for writing 31 smut pieces early on and tagging them well. Please know that follower count doesn’t mean much on here as long as the algorithm is trashy. Stick with interacting with people you wanna befriend and don’t let yourself get down too much over little reblogging.

But, of course, always try to find and reblog new people. That keeps the community alive and also spreads your name a bit, as well as the names of others.

The relationship she holds with her mother is strained due to the woman’s materialistic nature and her goal of marrying off her daughter for as much money as possible. Her eyes are always on a far bigger and shinier prize, no matter how good her life already is.

Her relationship with her father, miraculously, is healthier than the one she has with her mother, simply because she has absolutely no relationship with the male. He took off when she was younger, cutting off all contact with his daughter without a second thought and he hadn’t bothered to make any effort to try and have a relationship with her.

In fact, when she had attempted to start some form of a relationship with him after she turned eighteen, he completely rejected her and wanted nothing to do with her and it ripped her apart far more than she was willing to admit to herself or anyone else.

Even now, she isn’t sure if the complete cut in contact is due to her mother or if it was simply because she didn’t live up to his expectations, didn’t deserve his love. Either way, she has attempted to move on from it after the rejection, even if she still has that small hole in her heart over it.

Due to how strained her relationship is with her mother, she moved out of the household the day she turned eighteen, having managed to save up enough money to support herself, wanting to get away from her as soon as possible. However, the woman is still her mother and she does still attempt to have some form of a relationship with her, even if it sends her into a horrible mindset whenever she has a conversation with the woman.

CAREER ;

She first began modeling at the age of 16 for a commercial project. She also starred in the "Swan Sittings" by Lesa Amoore, alongside actor Ben Barnes, before appearing in "Smoking Hot" by Holly Copeland. She also modeled for Hanna Hayes' F/W 2013 collection, alongside various other commercial projects, including campaign work for Chrome Hearts during 2013 and 2014.

She was then signed to IMG Models in 2014 and her career started shooting off from there.

She never actually planned to become a model, she actually wanted to be a photographer when she was younger and planned to go to school for it. When it came to the point where her focus turned towards college, she ended up heading towards visual arts, fashion design, and graphic design. Out of that, she discovered her passion for clothing and that’s what began her journey of designing clothes, a project she started along with her modelling career.

Since the start of her career, she has won over a dozen different awards that range over her multiple different career-interests. Managing to make a name for herself as a model and fashion designer.

As much as she enjoys photography, she puts most of her focus onto modelling and continuing to add to her own clothing line full-time. This leaves photography for her spare time as more of a hobby, however, she does step in to help other high-profile photographers from time-to-time.

PERSONALITY ;

She identifies as pansexual and has always been very open to sharing and talking about her sexuality.

Has always put her foot forward to support charities, organizations, and projects that support the entire LGBTQ community. Along with making sure to put her focus into other charities and organizations, she’s always been the type of person to ‘give back’ and to put her support into the things she believes in.

Devin suffers from intense depression and anxiety. For the most part, you would never know, she does well but, every once in a while she goes into a deep rut. She won’t talk to anyone, doesn’t want anyone around, generally entirely depressing and doesn’t want to bring other people down when it comes to it. It takes a lot of trust and a special type of friendship for her to allow you to be around during that time considering, most of the time, she’ll go completely off the grid the entire time. However, at the same time, she openly talks about her battle with depression and anxiety. She doesn’t ever want anyone to feel alone and she tries to involve herself with as many campaigns and projects that involve supporting those with mental illness as possible.

Along with this, she also has this back and forth with affection. She either hates being touched or gravitates towards it, it really depends on her mental state at the time and the general relationship she has with the other person involved. It can be difficult, one day she’ll be ready to give you a bear hug and the next day, she’ll shake if you try to shake her hand.

On a more positive note, she tries to be as positive as she can, to a reasonable extent. She never wants to take life far too seriously but, obviously, doesn’t want to take it for granted either. She’s the type of person you go to if you want clear-headed advice but you don’t want to be talked down to at the same time. Or if you want ridiculous jokes while also getting some kind of pep-talk.

Really the mom-friend but probably won’t ever admit to being the mom friend.
