Some people: The Beast was the hero of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.
Edgelords who think that they are being clever: Actually Gaston was the true hero of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.
Me: You’re both wrong, Belle is the true hero of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Her love not only broke the curse on the Beast, but her stubborn nature helped the Beast become a better person.

More KOTLC Squad and Disney Movies Because I Have No Self-Control Whatsoever
(Also if I can’t get these ideas out of my head then I can’t keep working on my cowboy au because I’ll be too distracted)
So clearly my other Disney headcanon was a hit (because Disney and the squad are a PERFECT combo) and I can’t do the posts about their favorite movies and songs and quotes from Disney until I’ve shown them watching a lot more Disney!
Tam picks Hercules to watch one week
when Keefe points at Hercules (who is, as we know, a really buff dude) on the cover and waggles his eyebrows at Tam, Tam glares at Keefe while blushing bright red
But as it turns out, Biana’s the one who falls in love with that movie
Because MEGARA, lads, is basically Biana as a Disney character
Biana asks to borrow the movie and get Dex to hook her up with a television of some kind so she can learn the entire song “I Won’t Say (I’m In Love)” because Biana has never heard a song MORE her energy than that
“I wish I had sassy muses to narrate my life” Sophie sighs wistfully while the Muses absolutely SHRED through “Zero to Hero”
Sophie picks Beauty and the Beast one time because she’s in a super romantic mood
The others all kinda poke fun at the hokey nature of it until the “beauty and the beast” song and then they’re all quietly and not-so-secretly loving it
Surprisingly, Fitz LOVES the entire movie
“Tease me all you want, I don’t care! Belle and Adam are MEANT for each other because they take the time to understand each other and it’s them against the world”
Keefe looks at both Fitz and Sophie during this rant and r o l l s his eyes
But Keefe gets quite the kick out of Gaston (“do humans like men who are covered head to toe in hair or something, Foster?”)
Keefe then mixes saying “SKUMPS” at the lunch table at school with rousing renditions of the song “Gaston” (and Marella 10000% helps him out) after that
Linh picks Bambi because, again, cute animals on the cover
Everyone finds the movie super-soothing
The squad is SHOCKED and feels so BETRAYED by the fate of Bambi’s mother, none more so than Linh
They all agree that it’s super cute and kind of a nice background noise, sleepytime movie (they like “Love Is A Song That Never Ends” and “Little April Showers” as relaxing songs)
Biana picks The Little Mermaid the next week
And then spends the whole movie being jealous of Ariel’s hair (“seriously how does it DO that I’m JEALOUS where’s my elixir for Ariel hair Dex Dizznee I’m putting in an order at the shop for a lifetime supply”)
Linh loves it the most, though—she thinks Eric is the best Disney Prince thus far, and she wants an animal sidekick like Flounder
It is a movie of highs and lows for Keefe (he snickers when Ariel is all “but DADDY I LOVE him” and proceeds to quote it with perfect mimicking at random times in the next week to get the group to laugh; he loves Sebastian’s accent and “Under The Sea”)
(He and Sophie accidentally make eye contact during “Kiss The Girl” and then both of them sit there blushing unable to pay attention the rest of the song through)
Marella picks Tarzan and is NOT disappointed, although she was hoping for another movie with Iconic Singalong Songs like Mulan, The Lion King, or Aladdin
She has to admit the Tarzan music is pretty good, though
Everyone turns and looks pointedly at Keefe when Tarzan perfectly mimics the gunshot noise (“Don’t you DARE,” Sophie warns him, and he decides he likes living too much to disobey)
Sophie admits that she hadn’t really remembered much of Tarzan from before, but now she’s pretty sure Jane is a favorite character of hers
Dex chooses The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh once he realizes that they weren’t, in fact, trying to draw Pooh as a real life bear, but rather a stuffed animal
THEY ALL BRING THEIR STUFFED ANIMALS OVER TO WATCH WINNIE THE POOH
Marella sees Tigger bouncing around on screen and says “It’s like someone mashed Keefe and Dex together” out loud, and everyone laughs
Fitz won’t admit it but Christopher Robin is one of his favorite Disney characters thereafter
Keefe spends the next week hovering behind his friends at lunch, trying to steal their dessert, all while singing “I’m Just A Little Black Rain Cloud”
They all love it (“it’s such a sweet sweet movie” Biana sighs happily, hugging her stuffed animal) and they all agree Pooh Bear is the Certified Cutest
Marella gets her wish when they watch Pocahontas—easily singalong music
Now Marella is like “crap is Pocahontas my main homegirl or is Mulan my main homegirl”
Keefe says “Sophiana” when Pocahontas and her bestie are playing around in the waterfall at the beginning and the girls snort
Sophie is once again caught off guard by being able to understand the Powhatan language (“y’all this would be a breakthrough in the human world, this language is thought to be extinct”)
They all think the song “Mine, Mine, Mine” slaps (“and dig, and dig, and dig, and diggety-dig” is in their heads for literally ever after)
“Wow these Europeans really screwed over the natives like that huh” Biana says and Sophie’s like “girl don’t EVEN get me started, it’s a literal humanitarian crime”
Biana is unimpressed with John Smith but she thinks Pocahontas is pretty doggone cool
Fitz picks The Aristocats (“They spelled it wrong, though, isn’t it supposed to be aristocr—ohhhhh, it’s a play on words, isn’t it, because they’re ca...yeah, I get it”)
Everyone says “Biana” when little kitten Marie comes on screen, and Biana’s like “I mean you guys aren’t wrong but you have to pry Megara from my cold dead hands”
Everyone agrees that Creme de la Creme a la Edgar and the mouse’s cookie both look DELICIOUS and they pause the movie to make cinnacreme
The scene with the dogs and Edgar and the haystacks leave them in stitches (Tam thinks that dog that’s like “hang on, I’m the leader” is a hoot, and refers to anything inconsequential as “a lil ole cricket bug” from then on)
Keefe loves Abraham De Lacey Giuseppe Casey O Malley the Alley Cat very much, as well as all the jazz music (“and I don’t even care that this guy already did the voice of Little John in Robin Hood,” he says, and Sophie is like “just wait til we get to The Jungle Book”)
Everyone can’t stop giggling in the end scene where the mouse shouts “Q U I E T” and the fight scene just pauses while the mouse undoes the lock on the trunk
One week Sophie insists that they watch Mary Poppins and for a moment they’re all like “what this cant be a Disney movie, this is a live action movie”
And Sophie is like “welllllllllllllll there are actually a LOT of live action Disney movies BUT! We’ll only watch Mary Poppins because there are just too many Disney movies”
Every elf is disappointed by the “Sister Suffragettes” song because they’re like “why couldn’t women vote what kind of dumb system is that”
(Although Marella secretly loves the line “though we adore men individually, we agree that as a group they’re rather stupid”)
“I wish Mary Poppins had been my babysitter” Dex says during the scene where they all jump into the chalk drawings
Sophie admits that her parents convinced her to take medicine more easily when they would tell her “you never know, maybe it’s like Mary Poppins’ yummy medicine!”
They’re all rolling on the floor laughing with the scene where they have a tea party on the ceiling
“Why does Mr. Banks hate birds so much” Linh asks in confusion
They all rewind the movie and then get up and do goofy dances to “Step In Time” the second time around
Keefe settles on The Jungle Book because Sophie made him curious
And then Keefe is indignant (“do they only have like one guy to voice people at Disney or something?? Do they just look at this dude in real life and go ‘ah yes this is the man who must voice every bear’?!”)
Tam is less concerned by Baloo and much more worried about Kaa (“why aren’t we talking about this apparently evil snake voiced by the same person who voiced Winnie the Pooh?”)—once he brings it to their attention, they’re all appalled
They like “Bare Necessities” and “I Wanna Be Like You”
Biana and Marella spend the next week saying “so whatchu wanna do” “I dunno what do you wanna do” “oh don’t start that again” like the vultures
Okay apparently I just, never noticed how many Disney movies exist??? The heck??? So to be continued AGAIN, I guess????
