#haunted doll watch
could you not, please
like it's a cute story about something we can all relate to, having been and been around children. it's a connection with someone across time, and it has a happy ending since Cora was repaired and stayed with her girl. don't be tiresome.
antique dolls go through a lot over the years and are frequently damaged as they get older
except this one doll currently for sale on Ruby Lane called Cora, who was given to a little girl named Florence for Christmas 1862 only for Florence to take her to bed on Christmas night, fall out of bed, and promptly break her porcelain head presumably less than 24 hours after receiving her
people have always been people
#I love haunted doll watch because haunted doll ebay is stupid. that's the joke to me#if you start applying it to normal antique dolls it just becomes irritating#because like. yeah yeah you and everyone else. I know. people never shut up about it#in the aftermath of the fire I had people joking that my dolls set it. as I was trying to rebuild my fucking LIFE and cope with the loss of#almost everything I owned. heirlooms. treasures. most of my doll collection honestly#the All Dolls Are Creepy contingent pisses me off royally

More Bobby/Noah headcanons because I’m sad and I need some stable domesticity in my life.
Neither of them care about interior design at all, so when they first move in together their home/apartment is b a r r e n. It starts to look like a real college house because Bobby, bless his soul he wants to keep mementos from their adventures together, will just? Pin movie tickets to the wall with a tack? They also accumulate a lot of joke decor- Bobby makes a comment about a creepy clown doll at an antique store, and Noah buys it to display in their living room. They have a party and Noah pins up a ‘Please Leave by 9’ banner that never seems to get taken down. Noah mentions how tacky the live laugh love wall stickers are and Bobby buys a massive one and sticks it crooked to a completely empty wall. Neither of them really care, so someone like MC or Lottie has to intervene and say ‘guys… what the hell…’ and insist they clean it up. Even after they redesign it to look nice, it’s pretty generic and doesn’t get changed ever. They have a real ‘if it ain't broke don’t fix it’ attitude towards their house.
But Noah loves landscaping and gardening, and Bobby likes homemaking as in acquiring new things. Bobby definitely buys a ton of kitchen appliances with very niche uses, while Noah builds a koi pond in their backyard and absolutely dotes on the fish. When one of them dies he’s genuinely distraught. He’ll say “I’m fine, it’s just a fish. It’s dumb to be cry about it,” but he’s still really upset. Bobby knows that buying another fish won’t fix it, and instead is even more attentive then he normally is for a bit.
Noah thinks parks and rec is the funniest show in the world, and they do bits from that constantly. Bobby’s partial to the Saperstein ‘don’t be suspicious’ song and the ‘that’s not something that props can fix’ song. They both hate Chris Pratt all my homies hate Chris Pratt.
They both have really healthy senses of masculinity that applies to… Everyone but themselves lmfao. Noah feels weird letting himself cry even though he KNOWS it’s okay and will tell Bobby it’s okay to cry. Bobby feels weird if the bakery does poorly one quarter because he really wants to provide and be the breadwinner ( ;) ). Both of them feel super comfortable wearing gnc clothing, but if they’re going to meet the other’s family they both subconsciously masc it up. They both point out the other one being silly, but don’t do the introspection to realize they also do it.
In my last Noah/Bobby hcs I said they have a lot of inside jokes. I want to expound on that because I love it. Bobby thinks it’s SO funny when Noah mistakenly mixes up turn of phrases, so now it’s become a competition to see who can come up with the most creative. Bobby’s fond of ‘you opened your can of worms now you have to lie in it’, but Noah’s better at coming up with new ones on the spot as opposed to rehashing the same one. In general, that’s how their jokes go- Noah comes up with them on the spot, then Bobby repeats them over and over again to the point where the humor is that they’re still using it in less and less precise contexts. For example, when a lady is being particularly obnoxious in a restaurant Noah says “she seems like she was a Hapsburg in a previous life.” and Bobby spit out his drink laughing. Then it progressed to Bobby saying “you’re showing your hapsburg” when Noah’s being irritable or pointing to a particularly ugly inanimate object like a stained carpet or lumpy cak and saying “hapsburg in a previous life”. It’s not funny, but the fact that they’re both enjoying it makes it funny. They also have a lot of silly rituals- like if they see a VW Beetle they race to slug each other in the arm or when they see a security camera they have to very visibly sneak on their tiptoes out of frame. They do what are the odds constantly.
Noah has to trick Bobby into drinking water throughout the day. He’ll follow behind Bobby, picking up the glasses Bobby forgets around the house, refilling them and then presenting them to him as if he got him a new drink.
When they have a baby (because it’s inevitable. They both are stable enough and want kids, of course they have a kid) they’re basically inseparable. Noah takes a bunch of paternity leave, and Bobby makes arrangements where he’s technically still working but he’s delegating the majority of the load to his employees, so they’re home with the baby constantly. I think for their first one they have a surrogate, but the second and third one they adopt. But each time there’s this period of everyone being home with the new kiddo.
Imagining Noah sleeping with the baby on his chest has me feeling some type of way. I feel like Noah prefers to stop anything and just hold a sleeping baby. Meanwhile Bobby will keep a sleeping baby on his back or chest as he moves around and gets things done. They both go on car rides together when it’s late and the baby won’t fall asleep.
Noah’s better about getting up when the baby’s crying in the middle of the night, but Bobby’s better at getting them to sleep. That lowkey drives Noah crazy- they never go down easy with him. Especially when they get older, bedtime with Noah is a three hour process and with Bobby it’s a 20 minute routine. That’s definitely because Noah coddles them a bit; if they ask for another bedtime story Noah will oblige, if they ask for water he’ll get them some.
The kids listen to Bobby much better, but will go to Noah first if they have an injury/big problem. I see Bobby and Noah having 3-5 kids, and they all have varying favorites between the two. But both Bobby and Noah recognize these favorites separately and try to encourage the kid to bond with the other parent. Neither of them realize they’re both trying to do that lmfao.
Noah’s a lot more protective of the kids, while Bobby’s parenting style is more ‘they need to burn their hand to learn’. The difference doesn’t cause that many clashes, because Bobby will just point out Noah’s being too helicopter-y and Noah will give in but then worry excessively in silence.
They’re both just such good dads… They parent so well together and they’re so good with kids… Ugh. I love it.
Noah is way more conscious about the family’s health despite not cooking most meals. Bobby tends to make what the kids like, which is often pizza and chicken nuggets three nights a week, but Noah’s way more concerned about fruits/vegetables. Noah’s solution is having family cooking nights and subscribing to Blue Apron, so that the kids can be involved and Bobby’s got a clearer idea of the side dishes.
Their kids are the prides of their lives- it doesn’t matter that Bobby’s bakery took off and became a small chain, it doesn’t matter that they were on tv, their greatest accomplishment is the little victories with their kids. Noah cries at every milestone- graduations, weddings, even birthdays.
