For anyone who's curious, here's the probability of outcomes on Daggerheart's duality dice! Remember that half of all rolls (except critical successes) are with Hope, and half are with Fear.
On a d20 there is a 5% chance of rolling a nat 20, while Duality Dice have an 8.3% chance of a critical success. However, half of all failures are with Fear, making extra-bad outcomes more common than a nat 1. (Also, unlike nat 1s in D&D, rolls with fear always have mechanical consequences, and will likely have narrative consequences too, depending on the GM and the moment.)
Excluding crits, duality dice have a range from 3 to 23. The ends of that range are less likely than the middle since more than one die is rolled, with the exception of critical successes, which are as likely as a 13, the most likely outcome. (Note that it's impossible to roll a normal 2 or 24, as both can only be achieved with doubles and as such are always crits).
